Ah, hello. I've been wanting to write something in a while, so here it is!

This post is an analysis about what kind of metaphors can be drawn from Devil Fruits, along with some musings about a certain Yonkō.

Luffy + Gomu Gomu

Our lovely protagonist has some similarities with his uncanny ability. His rubber body can be of use in many ways that no one would expect, but it can also be quite funny to watch. It's not a hard material, but surprisingly resistant. In a way, it depicts Luffy perfectly: creative, persistent, with lots of potential but still kind.

Chopper + Hito Hito

This one is more of a stretch, I believe. A lot of Chopper's shtick consists in him being an innocent reindeer that has yet to see the world. We were all like him once, no? In many ways, he is like a human child going through his first experiences (even though he's technically... 17, now?). And what experiences indeed, huh.

Brook + Yomi Yomi

The Devil Fruit that grants ressurection. One could say that, at the moment his friends died and only he remained, it was as good as a life-long curse on him. He endured, tough, for the sake of his mission involving Laboon.

What's more, if it weren't for said fruit, he wouldn't have a chance to meet the Straw Hats. This ties with what I believe to be the main point of Brook's entire character: "enjoy your life to the fullest, while you still have it". Even if his lifespan now is certainly larger than a normal human being, the point still stands. He himself vowed to make the most of this second life, and cherish the friends and experiences it gives him.

Ace and Sabo + Mera Mera

Ah, the ever-present curse of fire-based characters dying. Ever wondered why?

It's needed for a certain thing I like to call the "Passing of the Torch". Said fire-based character dies, but the embers of his will still remain, and soon enough, will be inherited and reignited by someone else. Doesn't it ring a bell?

Outside of the obvious connection with the Mera Mera no Mi, the "torch" was also passed to Luffy in the form of Red Hawk. Flames that will certainly light his path, wherever he goes.

Boy, do I wonder what's the connection here. What power could a manipulating, scheming son of a bitch have? Answer: literally pulling strings.

Hi, I’ve been a lurker for a while and I’ve come to notice that a lot of people have the idea that your weight loss should be centred around yourself, and what YOU want to do. It also seems to stressed that you shouldn’t be losing weight to please others or to ‘conform’ to their expectations. I think that’s wrong. I think so long as you’re happy and working towards your goal with enough determination to succeed, you SHOULD be allowed to bask in the positive reinforcement around you. YES be happy about the people noticing your new body, YES be happy that your coworkers are showering you in compliments. It’s said the key to a good diet is having a brain that works with you and not against you. All of these things are motivational, and effectively the lubricant to a successful diet.

I got a 5 gallon bucket of very small (approximately 1"-2" diameter) wild persimmons from a friend. So I want to can some sort of fruit spread for Christmas.

I tasted my first persimmon a month ago. I have zero culinary experience with persimmons. I was hoping to get some insight on what flavors I should add to my persimmons.

What flavors accompany Persimmons? Do I make it spicy like Apple butter with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves? Do I add a small amount of lavender like I do with plum preserves? Do I add a second fruit to harmonize the flavor? Do I add an orange or lemon zest? Anybody with experience cooking persimmons, I'd appreciate the advice.

Second question: Do I need to peel and seed persimmons? I plan on using a Foley food mill to make them into butter, so the skins won't make it into the final product, but I'm wondering if flavor is an issue. Here's the basic recipe plan... It's the same for practically any fruit preserve: take half the weight of the fruit and use as my sugar measurement. Use as many ounces of lemon juice as you used pounds of sugar. For example, for 10 lbs persimmons, use 5 lbs sugar, and 5 oz. lemon juice.

I plan on using a pressure canning process intended for fruit puree (even though I'm going to add lemon juice) because I don't know how acidic persimmons are, and I'm not sure exactly how much acid I'm going to add. Better safe than sorry when considering the risk of giving all your friends and family botulism poisoning.

Oh, and the fruit will be VERY RIPE to avoid issues of tannic flavors.

Because the scorpion pepper has such a thin wall, I want a fleshier pepper or fruit to add to my jelly that has a mild, sweet flavor to add some bulk and crunchiness to my jelly. Any suggestions?

I (20F) am vegan and went to a friend’s backyard barbecue. I wasn’t expecting to eat food there since my friend’s family only likes meat, but there was a tasty fruit salad I loved.

My friend’s brother (21F) was the one who made it, and I said thank you for cooking a tasty vegan dish and I liked it. He said that the dish is not vegan, and it just doesn’t have meat or dairy in it. I said that’s what vegan food is. He was getting increasingly angry and finally said “I didn’t make any fucking vegan food. And if you ever come back, know that there won’t be any fucking salad for you to eat next time. Don’t you ever come to my home calling me a vegan.”

It was meant as a compliment. Not an insult. AITA?

For context, I am a gay guy, he's straight, I think he's quite attractive and he knows it. Several weeks ago, he came in wearing a pale blue shirt and in my opinion that color matches his goods very well.

So I told him: "Hey man, you really should wear that color more often. It looks great on you."

He smiled and thanked me.

I just realized that ever since he has worn pale blue at least once a week.

Even if don't have a chance of anything with him and I don't expect to have it, knowing that he responded to a positive opinion about his looks makes me feel good. :)

• It seemed out of character for shanks to chop off Kidd's Arm. But later it was turned out to be life savor for Kidd. Did he know it was gonna happen???

Meeting with Gorosei:

• Shanks met with Gorosei to warn him of a certain pirate. WG has Cipherpol intelligence under their command, If something big already happened they will be the First to Know(>!LOL, CP0 even knows Drake's Identity!<). Who is this pirate Shanks was talking about? How did Shanks Know he will become a threat? Did he caught glimpse of future?

Purpose in East blue:

• What is Pirate from the grand line (Shanks) doing in Fusha village in the first place?It's not his hometown. He was not there to see/meet Ace (Son of his captain). >!He was thereafter stealing Gomu-Gomu no mi from World Government,far too.. reckless. I think Shanks knows the importance of Gomu-Gomu no mi and searching for JOYBOY to give this fruit. !<Although I think Luffy eating the fruit was a complete coincidence. I think Shanks genuinely care for Luffy and selflessly sacrificed his arm to save Luffy. It was only when he was departing Shanks saw Future Pirate king.

As is yearly tradition, over the month of December I posted two songs per day in the Daily Discussion threads (one single and one album track (mostly)) that I felt went unnoticed by most people but would potentially be enjoyed, and this is a compilation of those write-ups.

There’s a definite pop focus but I picked these tracks with an ear for diversity of sound/artistry so there’s quite a few different things going on here and some picks that might make you roll your eyes, but I think there’s something for everyone! FFO means “For Fans Of,” it’s a reference point for who I think would like each song.

It seems like everyone is nostalgic for the ‘00s these days but if you were specifically missing those block party busting r&b jams, Joyce Wrice has you covered. She oozes the essence of this era of r&b starlets thanks to her flirty-yet-fiery delivery and the Aaliyah sample (“Rock The Boat”) takes this connection even further, but the charismatic rap verse from Freddie Gibbs has a distinctly more modern feeling that still flows well. One of many stellar tracks on her debut album but it stands out thanks to the pop friendly hooks and crazy replay value.

In tarot the “Wheel Of Fortune” card is supposed to invoke good luck and prosperity and the song really captures that vibe with the bright melody and hopeful lyrics, both of which Riri carries perfectly. The quirky production makes everything even more exciting, it’s got a new jack swing beat but then there’s all sorts of horns and synths and samples layered on top so it’s just brimming with energy while still being perfectly in control.

Emo pop-rock meets self-deprecating Tik Tok music, and that’s a compliment! Canadian singer LØLØ started with this sound last year (so she was actually a bit ahead of the curve on this trend) but she took until this year with the overkill EP to really nail it. This song is indulgently relatable and the chorus just creeps up on you, it’s so catchy and

I crave pancakes every day. I fucking love pancakes. I cook them so often, my pancakes are almost restaurant style. They're the perfect stoner food.

The soft fluffy warm inside of the cake. The butter is melted on top, maple syrup complimenting the butter. The edges are just slightly crispy, but the perfect crispy. Even better when there's fruit in it. It's the perfect amount of carb, salty, sweet.

Every time I'm high, my wife thoroughly protests me making pancakes, I make them so much when I'm high.

It is a bit lengthy, but I thought it may interest some of you to see what I shared.

The Organization refers to our precious hearts as innately wicked and not to be trusted. I went my whole life denying my gut and heart feelings and became very sick and detached from my core. It has taken years to recover my heart’s voice. I have found it to be the most natural and pure navigation system built into my body that I could ask for. To deny the heart and only follow the mind/programming is to become a drone who will follow any rule, with blind faith- as long as Jehovah or the Governing Body say it is right.

3: The complete lack of respect for women and their potential place as wise and heart-based leaders. The Organization views women as Man’s compliment and that’s about it. No woman can give any kind of talk where they speak directly to the audience with autonomy and freeness of speech. They must know their place, below the Men. I believe that women should have at least half the amount of say in all meetings, prayers and especially elders’ meetings. Let alone the Governing Body being run all by men. Women are needed to balance out the energy within Leadership and would provide a much needed warmth and intuition that is sorely lacking. Women and Men are created equal and it is archaic to disagree or be a part of a religion who still governs their decisions without this balance present. As it's show and tell weekend, I thought I'd post my perfume 'collection' on here. As some of you may know I review perfumes on here when I get chance, and have a particular fondness for Penhaligon's. Because of that, I've picked up a ton of their bottles. Whilst they have cost me a fair old penny, I've actually paid for the majority of them through clever ebaying, so this is a sideline hobby, as opposed to something that's cost me a fortune.

Anyway, let's run through them.

Starting on the top row and working from backwards to front, and then left to right...

1. The Uncompromising Sohan - A rose/oud with a distinctive cumin note. Possibly the most in your face perfume I own - one for when you want to make an impression. Makes me feel 10ft tall...!

2. The Tragedy of Lord George - A neo-fougere based around a lavender shaving cream accord/tonka with a boozy top. Classy, modern and refined. Amazing bottle cap. Sometimes difficult to find the correct place to wear it (it feels too formal for a t-shirt, but perhaps too informal for a suit!).

3. The Impudent Cousin Matthew - A petitgrain based summer perfume. Smells incredible (and you could actually pick this up free on the Penhaligon's website when you spent over £75 recently). Longevity is the only issue I have with this one. It's superb.

4. Much Ado About The Duke - A slightly unusual gin/black pepper accord sitting alongside rose and cumin. Perhaps the most experimental of the Penhaligon's portraits. And another favourite of mine.

5. The Inimitable William Penhaligon - Definitely not experimental! Vetiver, ambroxan, jasmine. What it lacks in uniqueness it makes up for by just smelling so sodding good. Actually my most complimented perfume to the extent my boss once stopped a Skype meeting she was in to comment on it. Ha.

6. The Revenge of Lady Blanche. A green floral that I actually really enjoy wearing, despite the fact that Penhaligon's market this one as feminine. Clean, deep, somewhat shampoo-y in the base. Excellent.

7. Heartless Helen - A tuberose and ambroxan dominant perfume. Not necessarily original, and not the best in the Portraits range but still exceptionally wearable. There's also a slight tropical accord in there which I enjoy.

8. Terrible Teddy - Leather/Incense/Ambroxan. Loud and potent. Indeed, sometimes a little too loud and potent! I enjoy this one, but only when the occasion suits. A bit like wearing a leather jacket. Quite challenging as the

“You are endlessly hungry?” Magrica demands and he shrugs. After the fight they’d kept moving but he kept swerving away to grab more and more fruit. “Remembering myself. Who I was before I was made into this. I’ve been sensing into my own body. There are a lot of missing bits and I... I’m remembering myself to fill it in. It’s going to take a lot of sheer food.”

“And what happens when you’re... yourself? Will you go home as if nothing happened?” She asks and he hums loudly in thought.

“I don’t think I can. I think... I think that I’m a copy.”

“What!?”
