College hoops game by game analysis Tuesday morning 3/9

College hoops game by game analysis Tuesday morning 3/9

Miami at Pitt

So since this is only a two game slate, I figured I’d give you guys the game by game. If I did my normal top picks, I would end up picking more than half of the player pool. Let's start with Miami. This team is forced to run an ultra tight rotation because of injuries, which is great for DFS. Miami is a pretty terrible team. They are inefficient as hell, offensively and defensively. But a few of these guys will get there on volume. Isaiah Wong is Miami’s usage leader. He’s going to play plenty of minutes and get up a ton of shots. He’s used some in the periphery too. Wong had a bad game their last time out so I would figure he’s going to bring it in this matchup. At 7.5K he is certainly reasonably priced. Some of the other guys that will play every minute are Kameron McGusty, Elijah Olyiani, Nysier Brooks and Anthony Walker. Of these players McGusty has the highest usage rate followed closely by Anthony Walker. That is reflected by price. Brooks has the worst rates of the bunch, but he is the cheapest. Mcgusty has the best assist rate too, which is worth noting. He’s also coming off the game of his life. All these guys are in play because of their minutes, but McGusty is the best play. If you are looking for a cheap attachment, Brooks and Olyiani should be fine. There is nobody else on Miami worth mentioning. On Pitt, we have one usage monster in Justin Champagnie surrounded by a bunch of scrubs. Surprisingly, Champagnie’s usage rate isn’t as high as I expected. He ranks 415 in the country. But I’m sure it’s grown since the departures of Xavier Johnson and Toney. He does have a monster rebound and shot rate, so he is certainly in play at a fair price of 9.2K. We should have some value on BC so I think we can get to Champagnie. The rest of this team is kind of a mess. They seem to be content adjusting their rotation game by game, which isn’t great for us. Ithiel Horton should start, but his usage is bad and he’s been playing especially bad lately, so I don’t think his minutes are very secure. Both Nike Sibande and Femi Odukale have good usage rates at 19% and they should have to play a ton. They are both priced up from when we last saw them on a slate, but they are still cheap enough that they are good plays. Terrell Brown has started the last 3 games, but his minutes have dipped. If you think his minutes spike here, he is a great value at 3.8K, but you are taking on risk with him. Hort

From my 5-year-old son: "Hey"

True story; it even happened last night. My 5-year-old son walks up behind me and out of the blue says, "hey."

I turn to him and say, "yeah, kiddo? What's up?"

He responds, "it's dead grass."

I'm really confused and trying to figure out what's wrong and what he wants from me. "What? There's dead grass? What's wrong with that?"

.

.

.

He says, totally straight-faced, "hay is dead grass," and runs off.
