I feel like that title only barely makes sense, but I read a little while ago that Dan Harmon was thinking about maybe casting Patrick Stewart, Fred Willard, or John Cleese as Pierce in Community, and I've always wondered how those three actors might have played the part.
Are there any other alternate casting choices you've heard about over the years, and wonder how the other actor might've played the role? Like, Phillip Seymour Hoffman turned down the role of Michael Scott on The Office, that kind of thing.
The advertisement at the beginning of the movie, "Tired of all the garbage everywhere? There's more space, in space!" He's the old dude advertising for people to come onto the spaceship and escape the destroyed planet 700 years ago lol. Neat
He was the next table over at an average restaurant, and pointed to his Spongebob Squarepants-themed "chocolate and blue Jelly" cake he and his date had eaten half of.
Being the bottom feeder kinda guy I am, I said sure. When he and his date left, it was ALLL MINE! :D
He died of natural causes, not from covid 19. I'm sad to hear of his passing, he was a wonderful comic actor. I think my favorite role of his was in Christopher Guest's Best in Show when he played the wildly misguided color commentator for the television coverage of the dog show. Much of it was improvised. He was a very funny man and I for one will miss him. What were some of your favorite roles or scenes of Fred's.
