A list of puns related to "Franco Battiato"
Searching for some italian music in FLAC or DSD, like Vasco Rossi, Premiata Forneria Marconi, Area, Orme, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, CCCP, Fabrizio de Andrè, Franco Battiato, Jovanotti, Raphael Gualazzi. If anyone would like to share. Appreciated. Cheers.
I studied hard in order to perfectly cover Summer On A Solitary Beach by Franco Battiato, my favourite musician and all-round artist. Battiato is mostly known for being revolutionary in Italian pop music and redefining its musical language with brilliant lyrics and arrangements.
I had the honour of meeting and getting to know his former bass player, Paolo Donnarumma, who's considered among the best Italian bassists, in particular for being a "pick player" with an astonishing rhythmic perfection. I've been taking private lessons with Donnarumma and, since then, I gradually shifted to play with a pick more and more – "mainly", I'd say.
So, here's my cover of "Summer On A Solitary Beach": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEC-VMchHiE
Have a good listening and thank you all!

Excerpt from an article by La Repubblica:
"Difficile incasellarlo, impossibile metterlo all'interno di un genere, dargli una pur semplice etichetta, e quindi se c'è un modo semplice per spiegare il suo lavoro è quello di chiamarlo "artista" e godere della sua musica senza tempo, ma anche del suo cinema, della sua pittura. Nella sua lunghissima carriera ha consegnato brani indimenticabili come La cura, Centro di gravità permanente, Voglio vederti danzare. E sulla morte diceva: "Non esiste, è solo trasformazione". "

Franco Battiato was an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, filmmaker, and painter. Battiato's songs contain esoteric, philosophical and religious themes, and have spanned genres such as experimental pop, electronic music, progressive rock, and new wave.
For those who enjoy the CMBYN soundtrack, the "San Remo & More" channel recently posted Franco Battiato singing "Radio Varsavia" live on Sotto Le Stelle from 1983. I love that early 80's fashion, and it's nice to see him with the choir backup and full band!
Today Franco Battiato has died. He was one the most important European musicians of the last century, but it looks that not many people know him or care about him around this subreddit.
Maybe it's because he sang mainly in Italian (although he mixed many languages in some of his songs), maybe because he was not from an Anglophone country, but he was a true pioneer in electronic music, a massive figure in Italian music (first artist to sold one million records there) and, more importantly, he created beautiful music that you can enjoy even if you can't appreciate his extremly interesting lyrics.
It may not be your cup of tea, but if you don't know him, check him out and you might find some music to help you throught your life.
I'm going to share just one beautiful song that talks caring for someone: La Cura.
