Belle Noir is one of my favorite characters this season, and I'm so glad Frances stepped up to the plate to play her character. Don't get me wrong, I love Kathy Bates and I'm sad she had to sit this season out but I just think this character was made for Conroy. Please tell me your thoughts about the characters and this season.
Well double feature probably isn't going to be anyone's favorite season, you have to give it up for Francis Conroy and red tide. She jumped into a role that Kathy Bates was originally going to do, with a type of dark, charismatic villain that she's rarely played on the show, and absolutely killed it.
I feel like she is owning this season by being the great actress she is, but I find it frustrating that she's only in a big role because Kathy turned it down. She's amazing yet every season after Coven she is relegated to a minor role or doesn't appear at all. She's criminally underrated.
Which is Frances's best role in American Horror Story ?
As lackluster as the season finale was, Belle's final monologue was one of my personal highlights. God, she's just great. I'm 100% sure if she'd been given the Jessica/Sarah treatment, she'd be right up there with them, also seen as one of the backbones of the series. Love her!
The star turn Conroy deserved at least seven seasons ago.

Moira O‘Hara 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The good soul of the Murder House and proof that not all ghosts that reside on the location appear as vile. Moira isn‘t a usual ghost. She‘s more than that. And this is what we see when she appears as a seductress to the men who just don‘t see an old housemaid cleaning their rooms. That special attribute and how Frances Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge both managed to combine one thing to another is a difficult task, but they did it without any problems. Moira instantly became a fan favorite. Moreso in Apocalypse where she finally found her peace.
Shachath 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The angel of Death appeared in the middle of nowhere throughout Asylum and Frances donned some wings with the help of much CGI. It takes a pro like her to learn her lines and stand on a certain spot on the set where the trick of adding her wings does the rest. At one point an illusionary cellmate to Sister Jude, Shachath took on the personality as a rowdy and a boss bitch who had a say in Briarcliff’s institution. But as much as the personification of Death can hit hard, as bittersweet it can appear too. Lastly seen when Jude accepts the kiss and dies in her bed. Frances did the characterization justice.
Myrtle Snow 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
This is a real witch. One you know from fairytale books like the Wizard of Oz or Hansel and Gretel. It was like Frances was made for this role. The fantastic look with the huge red hair and extravagant fashion sense paired with some brilliant quotes Myrtle delivers so delicately speaks for it all. She never made it to Supreme, but inside of all our hearts she was one. She always knew how to guide certain people like Cordelia into the right direction or how to cheat on Fiona or the warlocks in Apocalypse. But once she was or felt guilty she always had the guts to tell the truth and appeared brave enough to be burned at the stake. For Myrtle it would always be an heroic act that would go down in the history books of the Robicheaux Academy. The "Balenciaga" echoes still haunt me every now and then.

Rich and wealthy, Gloria lived the life of luxury with her problematic son Dandy who she could simply never satisfy, no matter what she did. Always willing to bring her son joy she finally picked up Twisty and later got Bette and Dot. I know she‘s not listed in the main credits for the 2nd half, but do you think there‘s a chance to bring Shachath back the same way Aliens from Asylum are brought back? The Angel of Death appeared to Grace (a strong believer of Aliens) after all.
In one way or another that could mean that Satan could eventually have his place in Death Valley too. Though the 4 episodes may be too short too include all of that. But keep in mind that Death Valley is partly a period piece.

Imagine her savagery as the possessed Sister Mary Eunice but as Belle Noire. She commanded so many scenes with her menacing presence that I feel like she would also kill Belle Noire’s role.
I was so hoping for that. Why is it that Ryan thinks she's not deserving of such a credit when Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and obviously Jessica Lange had the penultimate or ultimate ending credit? Does he think she's just a middle class actress? I don't get it tbh. Would Kathy Bates would have the last credit to her name if she were in the season instead of Frances? Just... why?

As much as I hate the Red Tide finale, Belle Noir's death is actually quite cute and fun. Her expression is gold. I know she's a villain but didn't wanna see her go. Frances definitely came through with this season. Definitely her best role to date and she definitely has the best character in Red Tide overall. The only thing I'll criticize about her is that she doesn't have enough screen time!

They are giving me so much life this season! The singing is just I don’t even have words but part of me feels like Harry is going to end up killing atleast her. I really don’t think Harry and the family will be killed. And I’m still extremely confused and intrested in TB Karen .... she wasn’t in last nights? I can wait for the coming episodes! Thoughts??
There is so much talk and appreciation for her but I feel like nobody ever talks about her amazing performance as dandy motts mother in freak show. This is my favorite roll of the whole series for her. Thoughts???
