Notes:
KJ was incredibly efficient and had many explosive dunks. He knocked down a three and recorded 3 blocks as well!
KPJ was inefficient but still managed to drop a career high in points. He took some incredibly difficult shots and had lots of turnovers, but also many assists as the primary ball handler. The potential is clearly there but his shot selection and defense needs to improve.
Also, how cool of a name is "Mad Ants" lol
The two-way player showed up big-time for the Westchester Knicks. His points and assists were both game-highs, and so was his +/- of +20. He came alive in the fourth quarter, dropping 14 points. The Knicks beat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 125-120.
EDIT: Forgot to mention his 2 blocks
Our long wait is almost over fellow Oladipo owners.

Brian Bowen is a 6β6β guard that is currently on a two-way contract for the Indiana Pacers. For the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Saginaw, MI native averaged 16.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 43.8 field goal percentage this season. Many may not have known it, but the Fort Wayne Mad Ant's season came to an end last night when they fell to the Erie BayHawks 119-116 in the Conference Semifinals of the G-League Playoffs. Many people, myself included at times, completely forgot about our G-League team throughout the regular season. However now that their run is over, I thought I'd post some highlights from their 2017-2018 season.
First, some stats. Our G-League team consisted of Ike Anigbogu, our rookie on an NBA contract with a team option next year, Edmond Sumner, our rookie on a 2-way contract, and Ben Moore, who was also on a 2-way. T.J. Leaf joined the team at times throughout the season, as well as Alex Poythress, who was on a 2-way before receiving an NBA contract for the remainder of the season in December. I've gone ahead and listed these players as well as some others' stats during this G-League season below:
Player | GP | MPG | PPG | REB | AST | STL | BLK | FG% | 3P% | FT% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
T.J. Leaf | 3 | 32.7 | 23.3 | 8.3 | 0.3 | 0.3 | 0.3 | 57% | 54% | 33% |
Ike Anigbogu | 20 | 24.5 | 8.7 | 6.5 | 1.1 | 0.3 | 1.8 | 52% | 0% | 70% |
Edmond Sumner | 14 | 17 | 7.2 | 2.3 | 2.4 | 1.1 | 0.4 | 40% | 23% | 67% |
Alex Poythress | 7 | 34 | 20 | 8.9 | 2.7 | 0.9 | 1.4 | 48% | 23% | 68% |
Ben Moore | 43 | 27.9 | 11.8 | 6.4 | 1.9 | 1 | 0.4 | 56% | 35% | 81% |
DeQuan Jones | 49 | 30.6 | 18.4 | 4.8 | 1.6 | 1.3 | 0.6 | 51% | 43% | 83% |
Now, some analysis. Starting with T.J. Leaf - there isn't much here, as he only played 3 games this season. However, in those 3 games he impressed and output remarkable performances as he proved his ability to score and do it efficiently, specifically from the 3pt line where he averaged 4.0 3-pt attempts per game.
Ike Anigbogu, whom the Pacers selected 47th overall, was projected to go in the mid-to-late first round by many draft experts prior to the discovery of a nagging injury issue in his knee, causing him to drop all the way to us. He only played 20 games for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (a G-League season is 50 games long), as he spent a lot of time training with the Pacers and on the bench during games. His stats aren't remarkable at first glance, but there are several glaring areas which should make Pacer fans happy. His FT%, a 70% on the G-League season, was up by almost 17% from his college free throw %. He also had the same turnovers per game as last year (1.2), however he played about ~70% more minutes than last year. Hi
... keep reading on reddit β‘Celtics youngins Demetrius Jackson, Jordan Mickey and Abdel Nader combine for 79 points. Jackson bared the majority of the scoring load (30) with it mostly coming in the second half. Nader did most of his damage in the first 2 quarters of the game to keep it close. Mickey came through with some very clutch blocks and steals late in the game while securing the win with timely rebounds and baskets.
Unfortunately Yabusele was pretty much a non factor in the game with only 6/2 in 23 minutes of game time. Jalen Jones(Summer League signee, 38 minutes) and his versatility on defense kept Yabu from seeing too much time on the court. He did come through with a classic Marcus Smart stat line of: 10 pts, 11rbs, 2 asts, 3stls, & a +11 on 3/13 shooting.
Overall our current and future Celtics played very well down in Maine. The trailed most of the game but kept it close in what turned into a nail biter of a finish. It's turning out to be a nice end of season distraction for when the Celtics have an off days. The Rad Claws are now to 2 straight home games in a best of 3 series. If they win they move on to the conference finals.
