My husband and I are looking to purchase a townhouse or condo somewhere in Boston and came across a great listing in the area. We are not originally from Boston, but currently rent in the west end. Would love any recommendations on neighborhoods- mostly looking for a place near the train.
My vehicle got searched three times. Twice at the main gate - once with a dog - once by a rent-a-cop trying to make a name for himself, and once more by some rent-a-cop on a blind corner on my way around the mine.
Driving in the mine is FUCKED. Itβs all uncontrolled intersections and the rules basically dictate that you yield to the LEFT of way. If you cut off a haul truck β or even barely get in their way β theyβre all a bunch of whiny cunts and will call in your vehicle and get you permabanned from the mine (and likely Suncor as a whole).
Itβs pretty cool having a huge Cat haul truck pass you and having to look up out of your drivers window just to see the lug nuts on the wheel. I never got to see a 797 as far as I know but even the βsmallβ haul trucks are impressive.
The mine roads are absolute fucking hell for pickups and anyone inside. They have graders as big as my house (literally) running up and down to roads, and the roads still suck. The haul trucks just fucking fly because they donβt even feel ruts that your average pickup could get stuck in.
Honking honking everywhere! Before you can move forward you have to honk once, and before you back up you honk twice. Imagine a mine full of trucks constantly honking all of the god damn time for basically no reason. Itβs like NYC x 10,000. An βunintended consequenceβ of all of the honking is that you eventually become immune to it and stop paying attention. Theyβre gonnna get somebody fucking killed with their bs honking policy.
Everyday you have to fill out a novel for a FLAH (field level hazard assessment), and it better be done fucking right.
I had to attend their SSLP (I think) program which is basically Mark Messierβs (famous hockey player) very unfamous try-hard cousin/brother give you 8 hours of indoctrination about how great Suncor is.
