A user updates their phone number to "123" and the request goes to Service A. Service A produces a message to a queue from which a consumer gets it to update the data with Service B. But then user immediately changes the phone number to "456".
Since the system is all async, it is possible that "456" is updated followed by "123".
How to ensure sequential update so that its always "123" then "456" for each user update request? Because not only the resulting value will be incorrect it will also produce incorrect audit trail.

My problem is that I just added over 1,000 cards but none of them have a number in that field, so the "sort field" is empty. Is there anyway for me to batch generate sequential numbers into a specific field that the "sort field" uses for ordering?

In Turn-Based games like 'Civilization' when you click 'Next Turn' all the units on the map perform actions one after another. These actions could be moving, fighting or building. How can I implement a system like that where a unit doesn't perform its action unless the previous one finishes?

I want to read a sequential file and display each record.
Thing is the record length of each record is variable. In fact the file contains a list of URLs so some might just be www.site.com, others might be www.site.com/folder1/, www.site.com/folder1/,folder2/... and so on.
How do I do this given the fact that I have to specify the record length in the file descriptor?
