A list of puns related to "Far 103 Ultralight Vehicles"
I love u/camhonan blog. This article totally reminds me this subreddit.
Edit: I expect a bunch of downvotes because this article probably hits too close to home for a lot of you.
https://www.thehikinglife.com/2021/12/50-signs-you-may-have-taken-ultralight-backpacking-too-far/
"You give unsolicited gear advice to hikers with heavier packs than you. You are subsequently puzzled when they tell you to piss off."
" You wear Altras in all types of conditions, despite the fact that their durability is questionable for anything but manicured trails or relatively mellow off-trail terrain. "
Looking for folks who would like to participate in multi-player flights based around Ultralights -
I'd like to start a group that hosted (weekly?) Multiplayer flights using 103 type ultralights like the Top rudder, Aerolite and Skywave.
These would be casual flights exploring local areas or geographical features of the FS world. Low and slow flights out of grass strips in true 103 fashion.
I'd like to use discord to post info for weekly flights as well as take advantage of being able to use voice as well.
Please have a mic and be willing to use it. Be amicable and at least somewhat socially adjusted.
DM me or post here (IF INTERESTED) and I'll get in touch with details.
Hey, me and my wife often go on few day trips (europe, alps and Norway currently) and we have some comfort problems right now. First of all it is too cold and secondly it gets worse through the condensation in the tarp. This is our current setup:
I initially planned this for at most 10C at night but in reality it is always way colder. Usually towards 0C. Additionally due to the cold I think we are not venting the tent enough, it gets condensation on the insight and we actually touch that with our sleeping bags. We add layers of clothing but that does not help enough.
Now I was wondering how to improve best for warmth and sleep comfort, as I do not want to reβbuy all, either replacing individual items or adding. I am definitely willing to carry some more to improve sleep. (Also I am a very light sleeper, so everything improving sleep comfort on the side is great)
E.g. stacking pads or adding another thinner sleeping bag (or getting a replacement one for colder temps) and is the tent even a Good Choice for two people?
Edit: Thanks for all the input, today we bought some z-lite foam pads to ensure we do not lose heat through the ground, also weβll vent the tent and added cord to tense the walls of the tent, so hopefully they wonβt touch. Also I have a reactor inner liner available. Jotunheimen national park is next up this week, weβll see how it goes! Back home I am planning to get or sew another synthetic outer quilt or just get a warmer one for colder temps.
I really want to be able to use the Char B1 bis to its full potential :(
This is mostly for the US highways
Yeah I get it, you shouldn't drive the absolute limit of your vehicle in public roads...
BUT
Speed limits have been set decades ago when cars were SIGNIFICANTLY less capable. "Modern" cars (built after 2000) are way safer than the cars the speed limits have been set up for.
We have better handling, better built, faster, and overall much more capable vehicles. Just the advances in tire technology and ABS systems alone allow modern cars to outperform old cars massively. We have better aerodynamics that allow high speed stability. Better suspension that allows much more stable steering.
However, I also believe that it's just too easy to get your license. There should be better education regarding actually driving the car, not only the road rules.
Most US roads are wide and straight. Perfect for safely traveling at higher speeds.
This has been done in countries like Germany and it works quite well.
Hello, can't stop thinking about paramotors and the like. I'd love to get good and then fly with my girlfriend tandem. This means
(i) getting a sport pilot license for a PPC (ok not the end of the world but a bit more costly, costly in time ?). Might do it.
(ii) get a tandem ppg and do it illegally (I won't do)
However I saw this: There are some 103 legal PPC's now available that are under 254 lbs and carry only 5 gallons of fuel, allowing them to operate under FAR Part 103
But I can't find anything anywhere for sale. The more I look into a sport pilot license the more I think it may make me feel more confident and knowledgeable and my girlfriend would be more likely to join. What are everyone's thoughts?
Iβd ideally like to get into ultralight flying. Are there any podcasts or YouTube videos I can listen to? Iβd like to absorb as much info as possible even while Iβm working.
Grapple, Repulsar and Dropwall are really good at countering them, anything that shoots can tear them apart, there are now EMP sniper rifles in the game as well as ARC attacks being able to jump to other targets shutting down a charge with a single disruptor. The Banshee's attacks are so weak it's basically a flying energy sword at this point and the Skewer is a flyswatter to Wasps.
Getting in a vehicles seems to do one thing and that's allow you to move faster and sometimes with other people. At most you've got seconds before you either fly from a fragment of dust hitting your tire, desync sends you off a cliff or every grenade in the lobby magnetically gets pulled to your grill.
Vehicle to vehicle isn't bad, but it's incredibly short. The longest I've had a vehicle battle with someone was doing the Banshee twist with the enemy team until a Skewer blew them out of the sky and I was forced to bail because of the danger phase.
I have no idea what went wrong but it's certainly wrong.
If you have a Private Pilot Cert. Can you fly an ultralight as you would a Cessna 172, for example, where you wouldn't be beholden to Part 103 rules? Provided you had a transponder and radio? I'm moving to a more congested area but there's an airport nearby that I'd like to fly out of.
Add to that elite defense at whatever position he plays at and elite baserunning and you have what I think is the most impactful overperformance for the Yankees during this great run. I hope Wade gets the deserved credit for this from Yankees fans, dude grew up a Yankee fan and played for the Yankees his whole career and is playing out of his mind recently.
What altitude could i legally fly to with an ultralight and no pilots license? (I do still intend to take a couple hours of training) Also, would i have to get any clearances or file a flight plan if i am just flying over my hometown? I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask but I've been very intrigued by a couple of ultralight planes i saw on a roadtrip.
