A list of puns related to "Fantastic War"
I rewatched Fury the other day and I really was reminded that despite some flaws, it's one of my favorite war movies of all time. The setting and historical context were very well done, in a way that I've never seen before in an American WW2 film. Although there is plenty of combat action it's really a film about what war does to a person's psyche, and how soldiers lean on each other to survive mentally as much as they do physically in combat. It takes place during the final American drive into western Germany, a time that's often glossed over in WW2 history. In reality the drive into Germany cost the US nearly the same number of casualties as D-day and the breakout in Normandy, and Fury really shows that there was plenty of hard fighting in the last months of the war.
One thing that Fury does exceptionally well is showing the general state of the Army in late WW2-worn out, beaten down, and suffering from manpower shortages. The Battle of the Bulge a few months earlier was the costliest battle in US Army history, and the Army struggled to make up casualties that were lost in that fight. There was a mix of combat veterans and brand new, barely-trained replacements on the front lines, which gives Fury its setting.
The performances of the cast are fantastic-they are truly ground down by war and suffering from hardcore PTSD, but still functioning and doing their jobs. There are a number of small hints at their story and how they had gotten through the war (I especially appreciated Gordo's recollection of mopping up the Falaise pocket) and the relationships they have between each other are really believable-they really feel like a crew that's been together for years.
I've always been a military history nerd, and the amount of small details that Fury gets right are exceptional-bulldozers pushing piles of bodies into mass graves, Brad Pitt's character using a captured German assault rifle as his personal weapon, massive formations of American heavy bombers streaming overhead to level cities, Jason Isaac's character wearing a captured Luftwaffe flight jacket, and the general look of the infantrymen-these guys really look like they've been fighting and living outside for months on end. One thing that's consistent in front-line veterans' memoirs is their recollections of just how filthy everything was after fighting on the line for a few weeks, and they really look the part. I also liked how unflinching the movie was when showing their attitudes towar

The Inhumans narrate their history to the Fantastic 4. A group of people with superpowers who live on the moon. Ben plays with Lockjaw. Lockjaw mostly annoys Johnny and Reed. Ben spars with Gorgon and Toro (Former sidekick of Human Torch in WW2), military leaders. Medusa says most of their Military was infiltrated with Gorgon and Toro alongside a few soldiers noticing this. Reed and Sue meet Black Bolt. The main Inhumans areβ¦
Black Bolt Medusa Triton Gorgon Crystal Toro
Crystal hits it off with Johnny and they begin their love story. Reed goes off to make a scanner that can detect Skrulls. After a while he makes it and they go to the Skrullβs ship. When they get there the device βmalfunctionsβ and Reed reveals that heβs been Super Skrull since earlier in the movie. Ben, Triton & Gorgon are also Skrulls. Sue, Johnny, Medusa, Black Bolt, Crystal and Toro escape.
Toro trains Johnny. Sue, Black Bolt and Lockjaw sneak around the Skrull ship. But they get busted and caught. Lockjaw is able to teleport back to Attilan. He is able to warn the Inhumans of the upcoming Skrull attack. Admiral Wotan and Baroness SβBak lead the invasion to get rid of the weakened Inhumans. When the Inhumans and Johnny are about to die (You could kill Toro but Iβd rather not) Sue Storm breaks Black Bolt out. They break out Reed, Triton, Ben, Gorgon and many others.
The Skrulls find them. Black Bolt simply tells them to stop, being Black Bolt this destroys the soldiers. The heroes turn the tides and defeat the Skrulls but some make it to earth.

Leading to years of torturous for both sides Warfare as British Aurors try and hold down the strongholds they've hastily put up on Indian territory.
They can not back down from this, it will lose them international prestige. India can not back down either, they'll be seen as weak for being unable to protect ther home soil.
Now it looks increasingly likely that Magical Bhutan, the homeland of the mysterious Living Lotus Society, will join on India's side.
Obviously we still have to wait for more details, but turning warfare into a more strategic, logistics-focused affair might mean we finally have a Paradox game that can simulate grueling, asymmetrical guerilla warfare. We could have insurgencies, cartel wars, Boer Wars and Vietnams that would have been impossible with a HOI4-like or Vic2-like system. And to top it all off we would have a simulation of the dependents coming from those injured and maimed by the horrors of war.
tl;dr Looking forward to CW mods where I grapple with a generation of Agent Orange-ridden cancer patients.
Mainly, I'm not sure why they didn't just leave us with a 3rd star chart option that was the Ballas-controlled chart with just cetus/fortuna and allow us to access the new bounties there, with a "to be continued" quest prompt and a bunch of otherwise useless NPCs making commentary about the war. Maybe drizzle in some little lore things to find.
They could organically tell the story of the recovery after the war and eventually return the storyline to the original star chart, and we could do new story releases in the Ballas-controlled chart for a while.
I loved the quest itself, but the way we're just plopped back into the usual with extremely minor changes given how massive the event one is very odd, and it feels like they gave themselves almost no way to tell the story further organically.
Like... everything related to Ballas just up and disappeared instantly and nobody cares? People are just back to the exact same fights they were fighting before?
As I Star Wars fan I think classifying Star Wars as a science fiction is wrong. After reading some good science fiction books I realized Star Wars isnβt a science fiction at all I mean yes it takes place in space and includes concepts like space travel but at least after the original trilogy authors stopped trying to make the films somewhat scientifically accurate so theyβre only using space and stuff for concepts to tell a epic story. Saying Star Wars is science fiction because it takes place in space is like calling Lord of the rings βHistoricalβ because it has castles swords and stuff. Donβt get me wrong I think Star Wars very good as it is but itβs not a science fiction
Thought I'd try out GOW3 remastered before my 4th replay of GOW 2018 and I can't believe I haven't played this sooner!
Gameplay, story, platforming, music, set pieces. It was all done so well! Honestly I always thought the OG games were a bit more hack and slash and nowhere near as cinematic.
Now to figure out how to play 1 & 2
I've been recently rewatching some of the films on D+ and finally got curious enough to see what these 'Extras' tabs had in them, and boy was I surprised at the sheer amount of BTS content that exists on Disney Plus. Some of the films only have deleted scenes, but others have some fantastic featurettes and commentary tracks that are so fascinating and honestly elevate the magic of the series for me. On top of that I think it's so awesome that Disney has invested in things like the Gallery (although I wish there was more for Mando S2), and made sure to bring docs like Empire of Dreams to their collection. It's a stark contrast to most other streaming services which do virtually no BTS content.
