When I(28f) first met my sister in law Anne (30) I heard about her having a tiktok account based around her looking after her old/disabled cats but don’t use tiktok so I never checked it out
That was until my husbands niece asked to meet for coffee to talk. At first she asked me how I was doing mentally and what I had against my brothers girlfriend Anne
I was beyond clueless because I thought we (me&anne) were ok relationship wise, now don’t get me wrong I haven’t spoke to her much because I’m extremely busy but other than that I couldn’t think of anything
She pulled out her phone and showed me multiple tiktoks of anne telling her followers about my just no family I’ll just list a few things

my mother being so bad of a just no mil they had to get a restraining order against her.

I demanded my kids play with her cats and had a tantrum when she said no. I’m a nurse so you know I’ve seen what happens when kids mistreated animals
-I’m dependent on my brother and demand he gives me all his time/money.
-me and my mother call everything she does in life shameful because she’s not modest or religious like us.
The last and worse is that I’m anti everything thing which as a nurse could have cost me my job
I ended up making an account downloaded all the videos and sent them to the family group chat you can imagine what happened next but instead of giving an answer both my bother and sil blocked everyone . Anyone in my family who had the app followed her “cat” account but were blocked on her main, my cousin ended up making a tiktok debunking her videos but her account was already gone
My brother ended calling me screaming down the phone about his girlfriend having an anxiety attack and I should have came to them first Apparently he said she makes up those stories for views so she can become a creator and it also helps with her anxiety.he said if anything ever got out of hand they would go on the record about it being made up
Update - Thank you for all your Adivce especially other nurses and Heath care workers. I didn’t reply because I was got too busy than fell asleep the minute I came home but I’ve talked to the Chief Nursing Officer and showed her the tiktoks,she basically laughed at the obvious lies and like many people here told me take some kind of legal action so if someone tries to “cancel” me I’d have a paper trail proving the lies that my coworker/medical info couldn’t. The vaccines are causing major problems for this organization. My PIMI family are antivaxx and are struggling with these GB updates. Just the fact that they openly ask: “Could they be wrong?” after this latest update makes me so happy. I know it’s a controversial topic, but just getting to a point where they doubt the GB is a big deal in my eyes. I’m positive there are more conversations like this happening out there. We had a falling out with my SIL so we left the group chat which was a godsend for me. This was maybe a year ago. We’ve since made up and just today my MIL created the group chat again! It’s literally spam from my MIL. She post videos/memes from FB. She’ll say random shit about her day to day. She’ll say good morning and good night. She’ll ask for pics of our son. If she does text something important I literally wouldn’t know because 99% of it is BS.
I FUCKING HATE IT SOOO MUCH BUT I CAN’T LEAVE IT WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE A BITCH. And this family thinks I’m an innocent angel. Lmao I already have it on “do not disturb” but if I don’t reply for awhile she’ll directly ask me a question. I’m not looking for solutions just venting.
And yes I’ve talked to my husband about this enough times that I can’t bring it up anymore. He also hates it. We are both stuck.
My very big immediate family has a group chat that I've mostly been silent on. It's a lot of "look at what this kid did" or "merry christmas"--not a lot of substance, but they like to keep in touch.
The other day, my mom sent a long text saying happy birthday to my kid and how much her grandparents miss her.
To the group chat, so I look like an asshole if I don't respond.
I'm still not going to respond. They all know what's going on.
It’s way too early and we haven’t told anyone I’m pregnant yet. I accidentally texted the whole family group about potential names. I covered it up by saying a particular friend was pregnant and layered the lie with details: a friend they know of but don’t speak to (my friend they met once at a wedding), due in the spring, gave name of her first baby and last name so they could say how name fits with those. I think it was believable but i almost had a heart attack when I realized it. I wish I had the kind of husband who would lovingly think I had pregnancy brain or was adorably clumsy but instead he’ll likely just be annoyed that I keep wanting to talk about names and complain about me not being more careful in life. Ah well.
