A list of puns related to "Excel Music"
I've recently inherited some music from family and officially have gone through and restructured, tagged and cleaned up folders for my personal music library on a separate drive to my iTunes library which is what I currently use now. My iTunes has been a mess and the lack of support and Apple all but abandoning the program for windows has me looking elsewhere.
The issue I'm now having is I have a whole host of playlists I've made in iTunes that I have exported to m3u and excel but these all point to the iTunes library with different song titles and tags to the now larger and updated/cleaned up music database I've created. Is there a program that can read the old song names and attempt to rebuild my playlists in mediamonkey or musicbee or am I screwed and forced to rebuild these playlists based on the new folder/file structure? I know I could import these playlists from iTunes to mediamonkey, but I don't want the old song names/iTunes folder structure referenced and in essence want to start with the fresh database of songs.
And yes before anyone mentions this I realize the rest of the world has moved on to streaming services, but I enjoy curating and owning my own music and managing my library for various reasons and want to continue with some old playlists that bring the nostalgia. Thanks for the help in advance!
>>What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
Recording, editing, and mixing audio would be the main goal. I would also like sufficient power to handle video editing, single player gaming (no multiplayer or online probably and video quality isn't super important for now), and need to handle big excel spreadsheets, databases queries, and not crash when i start learning python later this year. I'd like to be able to upgrade the parts if possible as needed in the future as well. I'd also like to be able to do some small scale website hosting if possible for my family's small business and my own boutique consulting firm .
>What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
For the PC probably around $1800-$2000. I may need additional dollars for recording audio gear, and i'd also like to splurge a bit on a wide curved display. I'd say all-in i'm good from $2200-$2500.
>When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
I'd like to buy this week!
>What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)
Tower, wide curved monitor, Microsoft Windows 10 and an office subscription.
>Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
Dallas, TX - I have a Microcenter location very close by
>If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
Hyper keyboard (USB), secondary monitor would be a small HP connected via VGA, logitech vertical mouse (USB), Mbox2 as a preamp (USB), Glyph 250 MB external hard drive (firewire connection)
>Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
No, I'd probably do it wrong and blow up myself or my dog.
>Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
Unless they will help streamline audio editing and producing, then nah.

I have several excel files with song lists that are 600+ long that Iโd like to use to create new playlists.
I tried Soundiiz with horrible results and my usual go to SongShift doesnโt support Excel files.
Hello. I'm creating a music theory excel file for fun that can display the notes in any particular chord by selecting the root note from a drop down menu and the desired chord. The file also displays the chord progressions for the major, natural minor, harmonic minor, and melodic scales.
For the guitar players out there, the notes within the selected chord will be highlighted on a fret-board within the file, showing you all the possible ways to play the chord. You can also select any key you want to play in and the scale (major, pentatonic minor, etc.) and it will provide a visual display of each note on the fret board that can be played. Last, but not least, it will shows you every possible chord that can be played using just the notes within the provided scale (as of now, I have just under 400 chords, ~30 chords for each 12 notes).
I figured it is a useful tool for new musicians to explore music theory and for others to have as a reference when creating music of their own. Is there anything else that should be added? And if anyone would like to see the file, let me know.

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
$1000 Purchasing in the US
Yes
I would prioritize a quiet fan without overheating issues. I want a laptop that isnโt going to blow up on me in 2 years. (Iโve blown up 2 windows laptops 10 years ago)
Not super important
Around 15inches preferably.
I want to use gaming emulators but donโt plan on playing any hardcore games like League, WoW, or Shooter games.
GameCube & Ps2 console emulators at 60fps preferably.
Something with an SSD, decent graphics card, and decent cpu that wonโt overheat and has a quiet fan. A number pad would be nice but itโs not a requirement since I can always buy an external one.
Hey guys. Iโm a finance student who uses a lot of excel but Iโve recently taken an interest into console emulators like Dolphin. I already own a MacBook Pro but I want a device that I can use for both excel and for running emulators. It would be nice if it also came with decent specs for audio engineering so I could run mastering programs on it but thatโs not the main priority.
Is there a decent laptop I can get that is below $1000? Iโm a bit skeptical because Iโve owned two windows laptops 10 years ago and they both overheated on me. To make it fair this was back in my gamer days when I used to play MMORPGs. But I want to make it clear that a laptop without overheating issues is a big priority for me.
Im not gonna be using it for any intense gaming purposes. I donโt play league or WoW or anything. Itโs mainly so I can run emulators at night and plug it into my TV via HDMI. (And for excel during the day)
Any recommendations?
I don't know if this would be more appropriate for the r/unpopularkpopopinons subreddit, but I don't think any BTS opinion is actually unpopular anymore, so...
People have been giving BTS's newer music a lot of flak for it being a fairly generic repackage of Western pop, and honestly, I can't disagree with them.
I feel like more specifically, their recent blandness boils down to the difference between Western music and kpop (neither of which is better than the other, but they excel in their own ways).
BTS just happen to excel at neither of what makes Kpop and Western pop music enjoyable to listen to.
For kpop, I'd say that it lacks diversity in terms of voice type (everyone's a tenor/ soprano (or at least forced to sing in that range), and all the deep voiced ones are forced into rapping); the songs aren't written to bring out any one's vocal color.
The music feels shallow in terms of both the lyrics and the emotions which feel stilted (e.g. the peppy and cutsey tone).
So overall, it feels like emotionally stunted, hypersantized pop music that's lacking in individuality.
Of course, despite the above, kpop has its good points -- mainly being that the production and song composition is great.
Kpop instrumentals are oftentimes so dynamic and musically interesting (seriously, Superhuman had crying the first time I heard it because of how good the production was).
Western pop music, on the other hand, is the exact opposite.
The music feels more like a loop of the same synth with a few different percussions added in, formulated to follow the same four basic chord pattern.
But the industry has way more diversity in voice types (like the peppy and bright tone of Taylor Swift versus the more mature sounding Lorde);
the singers actually have their own style (like Billie Eilish's whisper singing, and Lizzie's brazen sassiness). The music just feels...less grandiose and more focused on the artist.
But anyways, back to BTS.
People always say shit like "BTS aren't that special, other artists have written meaningful lyrics too." But I feel like BTS's earlier stuff was genuinely unique.
Like take their song Miss Right for example. As soon as you see the lyric "sexy brain wrinkles" and "white shirt, jeans, and red converse highs", you can automatically pinpoint RM as the writer.
Whereas their newer shit is more like "girl you're so pretty, let's be together forever". It's just so damn generic and cliched.
BTS's earlier lyrics just felt more personal
... keep reading on reddit โกSo in short; I'm trying to collect all of my music again. I used to download all of it and organize it in iTunes, but for the last few years I've been slacking and just 'liking' stuff on Soundcloud or Spotify, completely disregarding playlists or 'owning' my files. I'm trying to get back into it.
My plan was to just individually look up each track that I've liked and try to get a high quality download. However, the Soundcloud likes page doesn't let you scroll down easily. So, I want to export the Soundcloud likes-playlist to text or preferably an excel file, so I can check each song that I've downloaded off or mark a file that I haven't found yet if you know what I mean.
I hope I'm not being vague and I do have a lot more questions to be honest, but I'm trying to start slow and take it easy. I hope you guys can help me out, really appreciate it.
Title. Mostly just salty after yet another Game Awards comes and goes where video games that are fun to play get shafted for games with "meaningful experiences".
But you get games like Last of Us that are critically applauded as games when really it's a generic cover shooter hidden behind cutscenes that pretend to be a movie when in all reality it would be a better movie than a video game. Or Zelda: Skyward Sword which by and large has some of the best music and story in Zelda history but one of the most linear, boring experiences in the series to date.
While on the flip side you have excellent games that forego huge story or cinematics in place of keeping the games fun and engaging, like Metroid Dread. Or you have games that manage to squish both together into an excellent package, like the entire Metal Gear Solid franchise (except Survive) and Final Fantasy XIV.
I'm just tired of seeing the world losing their shit with the whole "video games are art" movement. They absolutely are art, but they aren't art because they try to impersonate the next big blockbuster to appeal to a wide audience. They're art because they're fun.
Title says it all. What's a Musical Score, meaning music written and composed specifically for the film in which it appears, that you think is excellent?
Lately I've been enraptured by the score of Bram Stoker's Dracula by Wojciech Kilar. Probably my favorite score for any Dracula title. It's Gothic and morose and creepy all at once, and kind of makes me forget how terrible Keanu Reeves was in the film itself.
What the title asks...
Iโm wanting to put a karaoke style book together so that friends can look through and pick out songs instead of endless scrolling. Anyone ever do this before or know how? I have thousands of songs.
Asking for a friend.....lol.
Jk. I wrapped up another EP. This doesnโt happen too often but I just feel exhausted like Iโm losing steam. Have another feeling that this EP is just gonna be exactly like the last - fall flatter than expected.
I invested hundreds into a PR campaign on the last EP. I had some sweet blog placements. But shelling out so much money is such a bad ROI.
I havenโt been in a creative flow for a while due to a new move, added financial stress. I have a feeling just creating every day is gonna make me feel better regularly. But damn someone has to market this EP! Otherwise how is it going to be heard.
So thatโs what Iโm focused on. Making sure I put everything I can behind the EP, so that I can actually see different results.
You guys ever feel this way? Having an identity as a music producer can be rough Iโm realizing because if youโre not doing that all the time, then who are you to yourself and everyone else?
DEEP!

Daniel is a really good dude who dismantles the notion that if you use musical instruments in worship youโre going to HELL!!!!! He also discusses the fact that thereโs no scriptural demand for a so-called worship service with 5 acts of worship.
Hey guys, I'm still stuck on what to do after I finish school and wanted to hear your opinions on what would kind of jobs would require creativity or any similar skills, or have a similar 'flow' as music production.
Thought I should note I have ADD and I'm on the spectrum, though music production is something I get really wired to. I'm hesitant to take making beats anywhere in case it doesn't work out, but related jobs like sound design and mix engineering seem pretty interesting. University doesn't really seem like an option right now because I'm not great at dealing with stress. I feel like there's a much wider range of subjects to study at uni though, so I might be able to pull it off if I find something interesting.
This is "Edge of Existence." It's a theme that gets heard in Scala Ad Caelum (Latin for Stairway to Heaven), the final area in the base game of Kingdom Hearts 3. The theme starts playing in the middle of a cutscene and you get to hear it while you explore the area. Which you do for whole 11 seconds before the game shifts the music and you're in the series of final boss fights.
The music itself gets used properly in the DLC but it really sucked how little you get to hear it in base game.
Minor spoilers for Hawkeye 1x03 below.
At the start of the big car chase scene, the music that comes on the radio is โA Mad Russianโs Christmasโ by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Meanwhile, Clint and Kate are being chased byโฆ wellโฆ mad Russians.
It could have been a coincidence, but I think this was likely intentional. Either way, seems like a really cool behind the scenes detail.
