A list of puns related to "Evansville River Rats"
I'm not sure if this has been posted or not, but felt there wouldn't be harm in a repost.
One of my friends posted this article on facebook. Its regarding Ann Ennis, a school board member in Evansville IN. There is a video of her stating "cry me a river" in response to a LGBTQ member activists concerns regarding LGBTQ youth suicides. Well, she said it after one of them say she is transphobic.

I was unsure on the best action to take to help. We both wrote emails to the board president Karen Ragland and the other board members.

If anyone has recommendations on what civil actions can be taken against the board member, I would love to hear it. I feel like the emails to the board members may go unanswered.
Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!

Donβt know if youβve ever covered it but....
Back in the 30βs a guy shows up in the Northwest Territories Canada. He has very little with him aside from a large sum of cash and some hunting supplies, and is mysteriously secretive about who he is or why heβs there. After he builds a cabin in a wooded area, some locals report their traps tampered with, and suspect this man. RCMP using dog sleds try to make contact with the man at this remote cabin in the woods which results in a firefight, and withdrawal. (one officer shot and wounded) RCMP gather reinforcements and bomb the cabin with TNT but the man has essentially made it into a bunker with reinforced walls and port holes for shooting. 15 hours later RCMP retreat, and this is where it gets interesting. With home made 10lbs snowshoes, and a backpack filled with guns, ammo and hunting supplies he heads out on a 300km walk across the Canadian Arctic towards the Yukon and Alaska. Though RCMP used dog sled teams, and local hunters, the man was able to pull away from his pursuers by utilizing a number of anti-tracking techniques, including walking in animal tracks, and doubling back on his own trail in sometimes 20km loops, or hiding in the Rocky Mountains (over 7000ft above sea level in close to -100) for three days. RCMP hire a WW1 ace pilot who did battle with βthe Red Baronβ (I shit you not) who was able to follow the tracks, and get RCMP to his location to surround the man just before reaching Alaska. He was shot several times before dying. He had gone almost 250km with an incredibly heavy backpack through some of the worst terrain and inhospitable weather, and nobody knew why. They believe theyβve identified him as Albert Johnson, but I donβt think this is absolutely confirmed.
I spent time in the military as a Canadian Infanteer, most of this time spent in Recce and Snipers. After tours of duty, arctic warfare training, escape and evasion and miles of humping a stupid heavy ruck, my appreciation of what this man managed to do is pretty high. An amazing story of perseverance (almost) shrouded in mystery. Right up your ally right? lol
P.S. Great photo taken after he was killed. The RCMP said his face had froze in place and although he was dead, he still looked like he was snarling and wanted to kill them.
