A list of puns related to "Evan Handler"
Evan Handler is one of the stars of HBO's "Sex and the City" (Harry Goldenblatt), Showtime's "Californication" (Charlie Runkle), Alan Dershowitz in FX's current "The People v. OJ Simpson," and Lloyd Blankfein in HBO's "Too Big to Fail." (Not to mention Ron Howard's "Ransom," Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers," "It's Like, You know...," and oodles and oodles of other delicacies. Also the author of two books, "Time On Fire: My Comedy of Terrors," and "It's Only Temporary: The Good News and the Bad News of Being Alive," each outlining different aspects of his 30+ year survival past a supposedly incurable leukemia. Handler, premiering as Alan Dershowitz in People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story on Feb. 16, was also a co-star with OJ Simpson in the infamous "Frogmen" pilot, filmed just 5 weeks before Simpson's arrest in 1994. Go ahead, AMA... Hey Evan, this is Kevin Lankes from Twitter. I feel like I have less potential and fewer prospects post-cancer, and I'm wondering if you ever felt that way as well. If so, have you bridged the gap and come to find that you're just as competent, valuable, and able to achieve your goals as before? | Well, Kevin...I'm not sure there's much I can say that you don't already know. Everyone's story is different...everyone's reaction to their own story is unique...and on, and on. I don't know how recent, or deep in the past, your traumas are. I do know the journey past those events is a lot rockier and more complex than most realize. That's why I wrote the material I did. As to your own feelings, and how mine compare, I have had similar feelings at certain times. The farther I get away from it, the less they plague me. There are times I've felt just as, or more, capable. I do think I've done my best work since. But, in another strange way, some of the most important work I've ever done was in writing Time On Fire, which would be at the very beginning of my writing career. Honestly, I'll be at least partially relieved if I never have such an important story to tell again. |
What made you decide to jump into the undertaking that is writing a book? How different was the process the first time versus the second time around? | I wrote the story that became Time On Fire specifically because I'd never seen the illness journey that I took described the way I experienced it. I felt I had an urgent story to tell, that couldn't be mine alone, but that no one was telling. It's Only Temporary was a bit more difficult, as anything less urgent than survival itself will tend to feel like a less urgent story. But the motivation was similar. I'd never seen someone write about the cost of survival. The feeling of loss that can accompany the apparent victory, and staving off of the largest loss. I thought they were important things to write about, and make available to others. |
[If you weren't an actor, what else do you think you would have done as a career? And you can't say Broadway star or a

I'm a huge fan of Charlie. So I was fascinated to learn about how he dealt with Leukemia. I didn't see any posts about it on this subreddit, so I figured I'd leave it here for you guys. He also wrote two books about it. He's a badass.

Some of these Moments challenges are a pain, especially the online ones that you don't have much control over, but there does appear to be a logical path through the 20 cards. This is something I put together in case anyone is struggling.
Disclaimer - this is all current gen advice-based as I would have to have a debilitating head injury to ever play next gen even though I do have a PS5 and that version.
First off you have to pick your first guy after hitting 125 points. I recommend (1) Chimezie Metu. His is the easiest agenda. 11 points and a block in TTOff.
Getting blocks is hella easy on current gen. Escort your guy to the basket (either with Metu being your 1 or assigning Metu to the opposing 1 - which is L1 on defense, select Metu, then select X then pause and unpause so it registers) then block him when he does the layup. The CPU will run that as Option 1 100% of the time if you give him a clear lane to the basket.
You want to run alongside him and not guard too closely but not far enough away that you can't block him at the basket. This strategy will recur in a LOT of these agendas, so perfecting it is key.
So you've got Metu done. My second suggestion is either (2) Josh Giddey or Robert Williams III. They're interchangeable and need the same thing, so pick one as the strategy is the same.
Jump into NBA 75 Game 1 (Isiah Thomas/Larry Bird/Patrick Ewing) and surround yourself with 2 high-tier bigs (Evan Mobley and diamond DeAndre Jordan will do nicely.) Your triple double won't be points/assists/rebounds, but instead points/assists/blocks. Josh Giddey and RWIII are 6'8" and Isiah Thomas is 6'1". You're gonna be using the same strategy I used with Metu. Escort Isiah to the basket and slap that ball away when he lays it up.
The assists and points are easy, but this is what I do. If my other 2 guys can shoot 3's, I call Give & Go and give it to one on the wing and let him shoot it. Easy assist. Or if they can't shoot 3's, I call Give & Go, position my ball handler between the wing's defender and the basket and then press triangle to get the wing to cut to the basket. You want your ball handler's backside right behind the wing defender's backside. When the wing cuts, the ball handler will effectively screen the wing defender and the wing will be under the basket for the easy pass and score. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
So you've got Metu and Giddey (or RWIII) done. You should be close to a second Ruby now as you'll be approaching 250

So I order on UberEats a lot, right? It's convenient and I'm lazy. I know I shouldn't, since it adversely affects restaurants and it's more expensive, but man, I'm lazy. The place I'm ordering from is right down the street, and if I had walked over and got it instead of wasting money, all of this could've been avoided.
I've ordered from the place I ordered from a couple times now. I love a good fried chicken sandwich, and they have a killer one. I noticed this time, however, that the normal one is no longer available. Bummer, but I check the menu, and there's another chicken sandwich. It's called a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Yum! Sounds good!
So, couple things-- I love spicy food. Hot cheetos are a comfort food of mine. I think of myself as a solid, middle-of-the-road spice handler. I checked the ingredients listed anyway-- the hot sauce included is simply listed as "house hot sauce", and that's the only spice listed on the sandwich. Now, sometimes, item listings on UberEats are different than the actual item listing.
Usually, this means what's on the app is more expensive. In this case, this meant that the ingredients in the sandwich read "house hot sauce" instead of, as is listed on their menu, "Carolina reaper hot sauce." The world's hottest chili pepper according to Guinness World Record, at over 1.5 million Scoville Heat Units, is now en route to my unaware and vulnerable organs. I was now set to star in Hot Ones without the gleam of Sean Evans' beautiful bald head to guide me forward.
My food comes. I am delighted. My lazy ass is thrilled, thinking it has a delicious chicken sandy on the way. I open up the box and I notice that the sauce on the sandwich seems to have a marinara-like consistency. I think that maybe they've given me a chicken parm sandwich by mistake! Sounds good to me either way!
I take a bite. I am hit with a wave of spice, and I immediately register that this is the hottest thing I've ever consumed. My sweet roommate, my dear Syd, looks over at me and recognizes the pain in my eyes. I let her in on my misery, "Oh wow, this is hotter than I was expecting," and I take another bite.
It is at this point I'm in pain. It's really fucking hot, man. I think, "I can add mayo. That will help." It does not. I take four bites, about half the sandwich consumed, and I recognize with growing urgency that the pain is not subsiding.
Sweet Syd watches as I down my

Edit: Brady just lost a fumble when he went to scramble because none of his weapons were open. I feel like I've seen this movie before in two tone blue...
Edit 2: Brady just got shut out at home for the first time in his career since 2006 with his top 4 offensive weapons out (Godwin, Evans, Fournette, Brown). The Bucs also have the top scoring offense in the NFL, and no top-scoring NFL offense has ever been shut out at home in December/January ever. Personnel matters.
Edit 3: I do not want this to be seen as making excuses for our team. Yes the turnovers are what did us in/have done us in for our 5 losses (we are -13 in the turnover margin for games we have lost). However, I am 1) pointing out that not even the π, the defending Superbowl champ, can overcome having his top weapons out to the tune of a shutout at home; and 2) stating that if we have our offensive weapons like AJ, Julio, Henry, Saff and company, then we are less likely to commit those turnovers as we are then less likely to throw errant/forced passes and put lesser ball-handlers (lol) in possession of the ball.

This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

keep reading on reddit β‘The man gets a lot of hate in here. Its for a bunch of reasons but the main reason I've seen that I think is justified is for his play on the defensive end. (The criticism of his contract is ridiculous IMO, a floor spacing secondary ball handler is always worth around 20 mil per.) I personally think he's just being used incorrectly or with the wrong groups of players. The minutes we've seen him struggle, for the most part have been with Kemba and lately, a combination of AB or DRose. I wouldn't exactly call them exceptional point of attack defenders albeit they are better than Kemba.
If we were to see him play with Reggie last year for example, or if he could get extended minutes with RJ stepping it up and taking the main ball handler, or less likely a Grimes or Deuce on the court with him in this role (Deuce is my pick). I think we would really see a more locked in Frenchman with a simplified role on D, who is more than capable of forcing an opposing third option middle into one of two elite rim protectors. Its not just him that's been bad on D in the starting unit this year. The whole unit has struggled trying to overcompensate for poor point of attack and pick and roll defence.
I really don't think a trade is warranted unless of course we score an absolute robbery. I also don't think a move to the bench is necessary either, if a change does have to be made, it shouldn't be him.
TL;DR Evan paired with a specialist point of attack defender would really change the way we view him on the defensive end.
When I got home, they were still there.
