A list of puns related to "Eric Jacobson"
Nola fans rejoice. But seriously though, how do we get bledsoe out of here?
Can someome explain that to me, Please.
With the Charlotte expansion draft tomorrow (at least as I type this), I decided it'd be fun to take a look back at every MLS expansion draft, from the beginning to today, and seeing what kind of players ended up taken!
There's a lot of names in the early versions, please bear with me, I will probably generalize most of those.
##1998: Miami Fusion & Chicago Fire
MIA PICKS: GKs Jeff Cassar and Scott Budnick, DFs Joey Martinez, Cle Kooiman, Matt Kmasko, Wade Webber, and Ramiro Corrales, DF/MFs David Vaudreuil and Kris Kelderman, MFs John Maessner and Nelson Vargas, FW Bryan Taylor
The bulk of Miami's wouldn't stay around beyond 1999. Corrales is arguably the most known of the group they selected, and he played a grand total of 3 games before being shipped to the MetroStars. Only Cassar and Vargas actually made it to the new millenium, and Vargas suffered a career ending injury that season while Cassar lost the starting gig to some kid named Rimando. Wonder whatever happened to him.
CHI PICKS: GKs Kevin Hartman and Zach Thornton, DFs Danny Pena, Francis Okaroh, Andrew Lewis, and Brian Bates, MFs Manny Lagos, Jason Farrell, Jorge Salcedo, and Diego GutiΓ©rrez, FWs AJ Wood and Steve Patterson
Chicago, on the other hand, hit a home run. Hartman and Pena were immediately returned to the Galaxy for Chris Armas, who would make Best XI five times as a member of the Fire. They also got big name Jorge Campos in that deal, but Thornton beat the Mexican star for the #1 gig - and won Goalkeeper of the Year. The 35 year old Okaroh would prove to be a key stalwart of the league's second best defense as well, and GutiΓ©rrez would join him in the defense (anchored by Defender of the Year LuboΕ‘ KubΓk) as Chicago won the double right away.
Most of the rest were pretty whatever. But getting, essentially, 4 pieces of a double-winning XI via the expansion draft (once you factor in the Pena/Hartman for Armas deal) is a win.
##2005: Real Salt Lake & Chivas USA
RSL PICKS: GK DJ Countess, DFs Rusty Pierce, Nelson Akwari, and Matt Behncke, MFs Brian Kamler, Pablo Brenes, Andy Williams, Chris Brown, and Kevin Ara, FW Erick Scott
Only Brown and Williams managed to make it beyond 2005 for RSL. Brown would leave after the 06 season with not much to show, but Williams would become a stalwart who would spend six seasons in Utah as a player, winning MLS Cup in 2009. Even in retirement, Williams stayed with RSL in other capacities un

In this study we demonstrated through analytic considerations and numerical studies that the mitochondrial fatty-acid Ξ²-oxidation can exhibit bistable-hysteresis behavior. In an experimentally validated computational model we identified a specific region in the parameter space in which two distinct stable and one unstable steady state could be attained with different fluxes. The two stable states were referred to as low-flux (disease) and high-flux (healthy) state. By a modular kinetic approach we traced the origin and causes of the bistability back to the distributive kinetics and the conservation of CoA, in particular in the last rounds of the Ξ²-oxidation. We then extended the model to investigate various interventions that may confer health benefits by activating the pathway, including (i) activation of the last enzyme MCKAT via its endogenous regulator p46-SHC protein, (ii) addition of a thioesterase (an acyl-CoA hydrolysing enzyme) as a safety valve, and (iii) concomitant activation of a number of upstream and downstream enzymes by short-chain fatty-acids (SCFA), metabolites that are produced from nutritional fibers in the gut. A high concentration of SCFAs, thioesterase activity, and inhibition of the p46Shc protein led to a disappearance of the bistability, leaving only the high-flux state. A better understanding of the switch behavior of the mitochondrial fatty-acid oxidation process between a low- and a high-flux state may lead to dietary and pharmacological intervention in the treatment or prevention of obesity and or non-alcoholic fatty-liver disease. Author summary: Obesity is a complex disease which is still poorly understood at the systemic level. Impaired capacity in fat oxidation may contribute to the development of obesity. In this manuscript using a detailed mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation computational model, we demonstrate that the oxidation of fat can exhibit bistability and hysteresis, implying that there is a risk that the pathway gets trapped in a stable state with low activity. We also identify the cause of bistability in the metabolic network and analyse which clinically relevant factors shift the pathway between the high-flux, healthy and low-flux, diseased state.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
In 2012 BDS was calling for musical boycotts. David Renzer (at the time Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Publishing) and Steve Schnur (Music President, Electronic Arts) got together to form a group to help protect their musical artists against BDS harassment called Creative Community for Peace. They soon got: Warner Bros Records, Sony/ATV Publishing, Geffen Records, Atlantic Records, Columbia Records, William Morris Endeavor, Interscope Records, Ultra Records, AEG Presents, Capitol Records, and Amazon to join. They offered 3 services to managers and agents:
Advice, recommendations and support in monitoring and/or managing the messages on social or in traditional media when their artists were under attack.
Support, information, and further explanations of various accusations or threats being made.
Arrangements to meet with β and possibly perform with β Israelis and Palestinians who use music and the art as a bridge to peace; to connect, communicate and better understand each otherβs narratives.
Eventually bands started helping band members. Groups like: Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, One Republic, The Backstreet Boys, Robbie Williams, Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso, alt-J, Chris Brown, Suzanne Vega, Diana Krall, Art Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Dionne Warwick, Rihanna, Clean Bandit, Martin Garrix, Kygo, Enrique Iglesias, The Chainsmokers, Carlos Vives, Jason Derulo, A$AP Ferg, Ziggy Marley, PUSHA T, Chronixx, David Guetta, Flying Lotus, The Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Daddy Yankee, Akon, Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber, 30 Seconds to Mars, Julio Iglesias, REM, Barbra Streisand, Kaiser Chiefs, Pet Shop Boys, Guns Nβ Roses, Burt Bacharach, Cyndi Lauper, Placebo, Chris Cornell, Alan Parsons, Tony Bennett, Matisyahu, Ron Carter offered their own experiences in how they handled and dealt with BDSer led intimidation and harassment campaigns directly to the groups while allowing Creative Community for Peace to service record companies, managers / agents and band members.
Creative Community for Peace supports dialogue and exchange over cultural boycott:
> We at Creative Community For Peace hope for a peaceful and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We believe dialogue, which can be facilitated through the arts and music, is crucial to helping to achieve this goal. The BDS movement β both thr

Trypanosoma cruzi, the parasite causing Chagas disease, is a digenetic flagellated protist that infects mammals (including humans) and reduviid insect vectors. Therefore, T. cruzi must colonize different niches in order to complete its life cycle in both hosts. This fact determines the need of adaptations to face challenging environmental cues. The primary environmental challenge, particularly in the insect stages, is poor nutrient availability. In this regard, it is well known that T. cruzi has a flexible metabolism able to rapidly switch from carbohydrates (mainly glucose) to amino acids (mostly proline) consumption. Also established has been the capability of T. cruzi to use glucose and amino acids to support the differentiation process occurring in the insect, from replicative non-infective epimastigotes to non-replicative infective metacyclic trypomastigotes. However, little is known about the possibilities of using externally available and internally stored fatty acids as resources to survive in nutrient-poor environments, and to sustain metacyclogenesis. In this study, we revisit the metabolic fate of fatty acid breakdown in T. cruzi. Herein, we show that during parasite proliferation, the glucose concentration in the medium can regulate the fatty acid metabolism. At the stationary phase, the parasites fully oxidize fatty acids. [U-14C]-palmitate can be taken up from the medium, leading to CO2 production. Additionally, we show that electrons are fed directly to oxidative phosphorylation, and acetyl-CoA is supplied to the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, which can be used to feed anabolic pathways such as the de novo biosynthesis of fatty acids. Finally, we show as well that the inhibition of fatty acids mobilization into the mitochondrion diminishes the survival to severe starvation, and impairs metacyclogenesis. Author summary: Trypanosoma cruzi is a protist parasite with a life cycle involving two types of hosts, a vertebrate one (which includes humans, causing Chagas disease) and an invertebrate one (kissing bugs, which vectorize the infection among mammals). In both hosts, the parasite faces environmental challenges such as sudden changes in the metabolic composition of the medium in which they develop, sever

Here is the potential WBCQ team for Germany. Assuming the team receives all their players, you'll see plenty of current MLB players. When putting together these teams, I am putting a best case scenario. It's called potential/projected players who might join the team, not who will join the team. The tldr will be towards the bottom if you want a quick idea on if this team will make it or not as these posts are detailed, scroll down towards the Reasons Why They'll make it to get a short version.
Just some context:
Strong: The team is a favorite to qualify for the main tournament. Everything clicks and they win a spot to qualify.
Average: A competitive team. Can hold their own against the top baseball countries but certain things have to go their way to beat them. Third or fourth place finish with a chance to challenge for the second qualifier spot in the group.
Weak: Not strong enough to qualify. Fifth or last place finish

Nutritional support using exclusive enteral nutrition (EEN) has been studied as primary therapy for the management of liver diseases, Crohnβs disease, and cancers. EEN can also increase the number of beneficial microbiotas in the gut, improve bile acid and lipid metabolism, and decrease the number of harmful dietary micro-particles, possibly by influencing disease occurrence and increasing immunity. This study investigated the effects of EEN-n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (3PUFAs) (EEN-3PUFAs) on the gut microbiome, intestinal barrier, and lipid or bile acid metabolism in mice. Metagenomic sequencing technology was used to analyze the effects of EEN-3PUFAs on the composition of gut microbiome signatures. The contents of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and bile acids in the feces and liver of the mice were assayed by gas chromatography and ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography/high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry, respectively. The levels of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and D-lactic acid in the blood were used to assess intestinal permeability. The results indicated that EEN-3PUFAs could improve the composition of gut microbiome signatures and increase the abundance of Barnesiella and Lactobacillus (genus), Porphyromonadaceae, and Bacteroidia (species), and Bacteroidetes (phylum) after EEN-3PUFAs initiation. In addition, EEN-3PUFAs induced the formation of SCFAs (mainly including acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid) and increased the intestinal wall compared to the control group. In conclusion, EEN-3PUFAs modulate the alterations in gut microbiome signatures, enhanced intestinal barrier, and regulated the fatty acid composition and lipid metabolism shifts and the putative mechanisms underlying these effects.
