A list of puns related to "Eric Goldberg"
I've started listening to the 83 weeks podcast, and while I enjoy listening to Eric defend himself against the Death of WCW narrative, some of his excuses are absolutely ridiculous. Sometimes he provides interesting context and insight into his decision making process, but most of the time its stuff like this.
Chris Jericho is brought into WCW as an international superstar. Eric has this idea to have a Cruiserweight division, specifically so that it could carry the second hour of the 3 hour show with fast paced high flying matches and keep the crowd alive. That wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea, 205 live notwithstanding, however I would argue that locking in your best guys (Jericho, Guerrero, Benoit, Mysterio) in this meaningless midcard division where they can only wrestle each other is a bad idea. Plus the decision to have all the lucha guys take off their masks is just plain stupid.
At some point Jericho is selected by Terry Taylor to be fed to Goldberg. Jericho makes the most out of it by being the talented GOAT that he is. He comes out onto Nitro when Goldberg isn't there to call him out, only for mini Gillberg to run out. He takes the piss out of Goldberg's entrance by wandering around backstage, turning down the wrong hallway, and getting lost on his way to the ring. Great entertaining television.
For anybody who knows wrestling, this is like booking 101. The obnoxious little heel pokes the bear and runs away. The crowd will pay to see the big guy get his hands on the little twerp and kick his ass on PPV. Its not hard.
Unfortunately, Goldberg is green as baby shit, and a mark for himself just like Kevin Nash says he is, and doesn't appreciate or understand that Jericho was doing him a favor and putting him over. Goldberg doesn't want to work with Jericho at all.
What is Eric's explanation for siding with Goldberg, and not having a PPV blowoff match? That they just couldn't have the match. Goldberg wasn't ready to work that kind of match, Jericho wasn't ready to be on Goldberg's level.
Fucking what? Stuff like this makes me wonder if the podcast is just a total waste of time.

Unless Destiny plans to debate BadBunny on how long to cuddle in bed, this looks like your best bet to scratch your debate itch tonight.
The format is typically very civil. There is a fixed order for opening and closing statements, and the moderator tightly controls the discussion in the middle. Rarely do the debaters talk over one another, but the host is good at following up on controversial points.

> Is political correctness an enemy of free speech, open debate and the free exchange of ideas? Or, by confronting head-on the dominant power relationships and social norms that exclude marginalised groups are we creating a more equitable and just society? For some the argument is clear. Political correctness is stifling the free and open debate that fuels our democracy. It is also needlessly dividing one group from another and promoting social conflict. Others insist that creating public spaces and norms that give voice to previously marginalised groups broadens the scope of free speech. The drive towards inclusion over exclusion is essential to creating healthy, diverse societies in an era of rapid social change.
