A list of puns related to "Eobard Thawne"
I do love Tom Cavanagh as Eobard Thawne, but as of lately, I've kinda been tired out by his portrayal of the character, and it might be because he's played Eobard so much, so it makes me want to see Matt Letscher come back to play Eobard again for a while (especially since he hasn't played him since the end of Legends season 2 in 2017), so yeah.
Does anyone else think that this will be the end of him playing Reverse Flash?
># Her hero; how noble. Oh, wait! You didn't stop JFK from getting assassinated or make sure Hitler stayed in art school. You saved your mommy. You missed her. And in a supreme act of selfishness shattered history like a rank amateur, turned the world into a living hell moments away from destruction and I'm the villain?
Eobard Thawne was a scientist from the 25th century that replicated a certain Scarlet Speedster's powers, but chose to use them for evil schemes rather than heroism. During one of said schemes, he traveled in time back to the 21st century, meeting the Flash, and swore that he would kill him, regardless of how many lives it took to pull it off.

I have watched a few things with the Flash in it and I came to realize Eobard Thawne only has two goals, annoy Barry Allen and become faster than The Speed Force. And his answer to "why?" is "my goals are beyond your understanding."
So, is he still like this in the comics or is there more to his character? Because more things I see with him in it, the more he is starting to come off as just some whiny kid in the body of an old man.
His name was Adrian Zoom before if I remember right
I stopped watching around when the crisis crossover happened. I don't mind the spoilers. I've just completely lost track of Thawne's journies and how he keeps coming back and exactly how many years he's been on his crusade to mess with flash. Also if someone can provide a timeline of when Thawne first started time traveling to where he is currently then that'll be great. Thanks!
Eobard thawne (Reverse flash) he is manipulative cold blooded psychopath who is smart & genius scientist with time traveling powers also a speedster

No holds barred, Terumi has access to the Susanoo Unit.
To the death.
β’ Thawne being a fan of Flash in the 25th century.
β’ He had a brilliant scientific mind.
β’ He loved Flash so much that he wanted to be the Flash of the future.
β’ He found Speedforce residue in one of Flashs' old suits in his museum.
β’ He recreated the exact event and became the Flash.
β’ Came back to the 21st century and met our Flash.
β’ Flash was happy to see him and they were a crime-fighting unit.
β’ He went back to the 25th century but also kept in touch with Flash. He was traveling back and forth(21st to 25th). He also took Flash with him a few times to show his future world.
β’ But the 25th century had little to no crime. There were a few big crimes here and there but nothing technology at that time couldn't handle. So they didn't need a Flash.
β’ But Thawne was so obsessed with being Flash that he started creating his enemy. Mostly his time remnants and giving people advanced tech to commit a crime.
β’ Flash didn't like it at all. Thawne told Flash "You had all the spotlight. People praised you, made a museum of you. Now it's my time to shine." Flash replied "No, not this way. I won't let you do this."
β’ They fought and started hating each other. Thawnes' idea was if he can't be Flash, he will oppose Flash in every single way.
Hence the quote "some say I'm the reverse."
β’ The rest is in the show. Finding Barry is Flash, killing him as a child, etc. Thawne was the most loved villain in the show. They could've made one of the coolest origin stories ever.
Also, I'm still confused why they gave Hunter Zolomon the name Zoom. Isn't Zoom supposed to be Professor Zoom a.k.a Eobard Thawne? That's what I've known my whole life. Hunter wws supposed to be Zoom if Wally was in the story and fighting him but the second Zoom fought Barry which didn't make sense to me.
Why not give Thawne the name Zoom!
I think all these sudden events, (Barry losing his job as a CSI, the Star Lab's shutdown, Xotar's sudden appearance, and Joe's death) are a result of Eobard's attempts to destroy Barry's legacy and drive him to create Armageddon.
In the promo for 8x03, we see the return of Top, I don't think these sudden appearances of Meta's with mind-manipulation are just a coincidence. Thawne is using them (Xotar and Top) to make Barry believe he's fighting against great threats when he's actually attacking Central City. (As seen when Xotar made Barry attack Team Flash.)
I believe Thawne's plan is to drive Barry completely insane by altering the timeline to make Barry suffer great tragedies. Then, revealing himself as the reason for these changes, resulting in Barry going all-out inorder to stop him. (This is why I believe Eobard targeted Joe, he knows killing both Barry's mother and father-figure would mess him up)
Finally, Eobard would use the mind-manipulation metas to make Barry believe he's fighting Eobard while he's actually destroying Central City/creating Armageddon.
There have been rumors of a man in yellow suit, terrorizing the enhabitants of Austin, TX. This man has been seen throwing lightinings, passing through objects and running at estonishing speeds, and this seems to attract the SCP foundations attention: Can the foundation contain or at least incapacitate this misterious speedster?
We learn that Eobard went back in time a second time to kill Barry as a kid, but why did he leave his original time period to begin with?
I thought I remembered him being on the run from something in the later seasons
So the dude was stuck in the past for 15 years, right? And then he was stuck in Ironside Heights in 2049 for 15 years, right? So that's 30 years alone.
The dude's gotta be like 55 years old minimum.
Can he do it
Rewatching the Death Battle between Thawne and Goku Black made me wonder what other anime antagonists Thawne could take on.
And who better to start off with, than arguably the only guy who has as much "It was me, Barry!" energy as Thawne himself, Aizen Souske!
Both are practically immortal, through Hogyoku shenanigans or Speed Force shenanigans. Every time you kill them they just keep coming back, by evolving, or just coming back from a different point in time. So who can find a way to permanently kill the other?
Fight takes place in Karakura Town. Neither of them have any prior knowledge of the other. Thawne can see and interact with Aizen because Speed Force shenanigans (actually, on a more "explanatory" note, Thawne could probably vibrate himself at whatever frequency the spirits of the Bleach Universe vibrate at, and phase himself into the spirit side of the world to interact with them)
This is Deicide Aizen.
Rules :
Battle to the death.
No Kyouka Suigetsu hax. Aizen has to fight with his own strength and skills. But he can utilize his Hogyoku evolutions.
Thawne can't go back in time to kill a younger Aizen. Quite frankly he wouldn't even know when to go, since he doesn't know that Aizen is hundreds of years old.
So, can Thawne kill Aizen? Can he bypass the Hogyoku's powers somehow? Or will Aizen take this win?
Peak versions of both characters
The fight starts in Central City and ends in Keystone City
No restrictions
One of zoom's victims takes out an assassination contract on zoom. Hit accepts and travels to earth to fulfill the contract.
Scenario 1: hit arrives and is able to attempt to make the first attack without zoom noticing.
Scenario 2: zoom notices hit before he can attack.
Recently finished up on The Flash Rebirth Comic line and Iβm wondering is there any possible way Thawne can return. Maybe get his powers back and have another motive to hating Barry.

The Doctor is known for being genocidal, "look up the word genocide and you'll see a picture of me there". The Doctor has an endless fatality count as the cause of death alone. The Doctor is a classification for cause of death. Death by The Doctor. So we're talking the 7th Doctor here. I've chosen McCoy because the 7th Doctor was the ultimate planner. I'm pretty sure the 7th was the darkest as well, best at planning how to kill everyone but Classic Who is beyond my memory at this point. The 7th only died due to an unpredictable landing in a specific time in Florida, a shootout where he was shot, the 7th died to RNG, not to failure. The rules and lore is to be discussed in comments tho, correct me if im wrong on this.
Eobard Thawne in my distant memory was supposed to be faster than Barry, so lets say this is that guy, Eobard Thawne, the fastest man alive, just behind Godspeed and Death. (Offtopic but didnt the speed levels used to be Barry as slowest, then Thawne, then Godspeed, then Death?). Thawne is in for a treat as he gets to commit some good ol genocide. Thawne can basically time travel like the Doctor, so they can both repeatedly kill but i'll leave ideas in the comments.
They can both time travel to a time where a specific planet is the most populated, so theyre both equal in where they start. Thawne has a Vortex Manipulator for the sake of travel to match the Doctor's. Thawne can move at the speed of light, but can only really kill one by one. The Doctor can large scale shit.
(No, there is no one fast enough to stop Thawne. Stop nerfing speedsters, the speed of light is the speed of light, i dont understand why Barry couldn't have just ripped Superman's heart out like Clark did Joker in Injustice. I don't get it to be honest.)
I'll leave the scenarios in the comments, for now, let the battle begin!
Maybe if we need to, we can pull a day of the doctor shit with all of them.
Am I the only one who thinks Thawne is literally all over the place as a character?
Dude is super inconsistent lol. Let's go through Thawne over the seasons.
The Flash S1/S2/S3 + Legends S2: Both Wellsobard and Eobard attempt to justify their murders by stating the people they killed were dead for centuries, and neither seem particularly sadistic, just...very amoral. In addition, Wellsobard seems to form a genuine bond with Cisco and Barry both, to the point both find it difficult to hate him even after learning the truth about him. Andrew Kreisberg outright states Eobard is not an ''evil man'' and that he felt horrible about killing Cisco that one time.
Even in S2, Cisco tells Harry that Wellsobard didn't feel good about killing him, and Barry outright calls him another father figure in S2, literally one episode after fighting a younger Thawne. Even in S3, Barry notes that while Cisco truly befriended the other Wellses (keep in mind the only other ones he met at this point were Harry and Wellsobard), he had something special going on with HR.
And Thawne himself somewhat reciprocates. Thawne outright admits he grew to love working with all of Team Flash - at a time all of them know full well who he is and what he has done - and is even angry at Cisco for not understanding his predicament of being trapped in a ''barbaric'' timeline. Dude also outright consoles Cisco and stops him from leaving even though the guy inadvertently threatened Barry by leaking his identity to Snart to save Dante. Thawne even says Cisco is like a son to him, notes he gave Cisco his abilities out of love, and even asks him for help before he fades away in the finale. Even in Legends, he tells Ray that he misses the friendship of Caitlin and Cisco.
Barry is a little more complicated, but Thawne also told him that he came to care for Barry like Henry and Joe did...and did leave him a confession about Nora's murder (albeit also telling him ''he'll never truly be happy'' as a final attempt to hurt and manipulate him). At the same time, Thawne does want to kill the Flash eventually, though I'm a little confused as to whether he meant ''our'' Barry or the one he fought before killing Nora. In S2, he seems horrified Barry is ''still alive'', in spite of him being only a year older than the one of S1, implying he meant to kill ''our'' Barry too even if he ''loved'' him.
Oh, and his ''dead for centuries'' excuse (not really an excuse, though it at least makes Thawne come off as
