This is the cool newer looking one with the cars on it (brown sparkle enclosure, orange/cream art). I actually have 3 of these (different versions) and just don't need that many lol. Looking for delays, drives, dirt, fuzz, etc.
Clone built by myself, my oldest son is getting into guitar, and he loves blue, saw the bd-2 and loves the look, I love the sound, so I thought Iβd set him on the right path!
All in great condition, clone is built by me and works like a charm. The Artec is sort of a poor manβs PDF1
Iβm looking for a DOD Rubberneck, so a combo deal is more than doable!
Hey everyone. I'm trying to slim down my pedal board from 3 to 2 ODs, so looking for something with a little more gain (still low to med) and flexibility over the EM-Drive. Make me an offer!
Both killer drives that look awesome, soft switches and made in USA. Just looking for some new stuff. Open to Anything really.
Ideally looking for fuzzes, octave/pitch, or delays but open to a bunch of stuff. Both pedals are in mint condition and work perfectly.
This is part question, part rant. For the life of me, I cannot get these things to save their parameters in a reliable, repeatable way.
For the newer M70x series, I can click "Save Parameters In Drive" ten times, cycle power, and still get the defaults back. Sometimes I have to repeat the "download, cycle power, check parms" ritual three or four times to get them to actually take. I don't do anything different, but I get different behaviour. How long am I supposed to wait after the "Saving" box disappears before taking power off the drive?
I've had M702s in particular forget their parameters for option cards, but retain the parameters in the drive itself. It'll remember parameters fine when powered off for a few minutes, but wait a few hours or days and they may be gone. This happens most on SI-I/O cards, but I've also had a SI-Encoder card forget its parms recently. This failure seems front-loaded: if it's going to happen, it'll happen the first time the drive is off for an extended period. If the parameters survive the first prolonged off time, they'll stay in there until the magic smoke leaks out.
For the older stuff (Mentor MP, Unidrive Classic, LS UMV 4301), they're more consistent, but I swear there must be some parameters that aren't saved when you save a menu via x.000 = 1000 followed by Stop. SM-Ethernet cards never seem to keep the static IP I assign (yes, DHCP is off) unless I go online with my laptop and save it from there. I've also had similar problems with saving Ethernet settings on M70x's via x.000, where they don't persist after a power cycle.
I have to be doing something wrong, right? There's no way people would keep buying this stuff it's really this flaky.
I have a few things up on my Reverb page that I'm looking to sell, but I'm looking for a few specific items:
Pictures and prices are available on my Reverb page (linked above), but I'm here to make trades. I'm going to be picky, but, hey, maybe I'll have some luck:
I might consider the following alternatives:
Otherwise, I'm pretty much set. And especially no drives or standalone modulation pedals. Sorry if this is limiting, but I'm trying to clear out unused gear for gear that I'll actually use. I'm happy to put up some cash toward a trade, but I'm probably not going to trade a ~$100 Emerson EM-Drive + $400 cash for a $500 Thermae. I'm also happy to do one of the more expensive pedals I have for something else + cash.
EM Drive is the white one with clear knobs, and the CEO is from the newer series with the small metal enclosures. Both work and sound great, I'm just mixing it up.
I wouldn't mind trading them both towards something: -Earthquaker -Boss Tera Echo -Mr Black -Offer whatever!
Has velcro on the back β as is tradition β but otherwise excellent!
Awesome pedal, great as either a boost with a tiny touch of coloration or as a light overdrive. Feels well made too, the taper on the pots is exquisite. Turning the knobs is almost sexual.
Anyways, trade for a different OD? Timmy, JHS Superbolt, Emerson Paramount, Rockett Archer, Arc Klone, Greer Lightspeed, Lovepedal Kalamazoo, Morning Glory, blah blah

Hi guys! Just recently made my first post in this sub. It was about a dc jack. Well, I got all that sorted, and I FINISHED my VERY FIRST DIY PEDAL!! Well, "finished" meaning that I have it all hooked up. It's not in an enclosure, and the circuit is bread boarded. It's an Emerson Customs Em-Drive clone.
My pedal turns on (LED on) and actually has some sound. The pots work.
Building the pedal as described in [this schematic] (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kXoByAOQ73U/UQkZnBNFGwI/AAAAAAAAEp8/agyYHuzaeao/s1600/Emerson+Custom+Guitars+Em-Drive+-+compact.png), and doing the offboard wiring as described in this schematic (minus the stereo input jack and the battery) gives me a sound that is not quite right. Caveat: The transistor that they suggest in the schematic is a 2N5088. I read through the comments and quite a few people mentioned that the transistor was actually an MPSA18, so that's what I got.
Here's the weird thing. I put my transistor in correctly. I looked up the MPSA18 datasheet and made sure that I put it in correctly. When I did, it sounded awful. Really low volume unless I dug hard, and then I got really AWFUL distortion that, as other people on that site described, sounded farty. So, I did something that seems dumb... I turned the transistor the wrong way, and it actually sounded a LOT better. It added a buzz (like actually a high-pitched note, not even really a buzz... like a squeal) but the distortion at least sounded better. It, however, was still really low volume when the gain wasn't dimed. If you see this on youtube, you're supposed to be able to turn the Gain to 0, and dime the volume to get a clean boost. But, there's just no volume unless the gain is all the way up... well, not no volume... fairly low. A little below the volume of the regular signal.
So, what did I do wrong? I'd be so happy to have help on this thing, that's for sure.
Here's an imgur album of my build
I tried to test the transistors in my multimeter (crappy harbor freight cen-tech multimeter) but I can't even get a single reading unless I wiggle it around in the socket, and even then it's only for a split second and it jumps around so much... I jus
... keep reading on reddit β‘Looking to trade my EM-Drive for an Ibanez TS808. Here's a pic of the pedal
