My wife died last year and I've been thinking about a meaningful tattoo to have her with me permanently since then. She spent a long time in Israel before I met her and she was really bonded with the country and it's people. Having her name on me in Hebrew would be a very appropriate permanent tribute to the 18 years we spent together. I don't speak read or write a word of Hebrew myself so tried looking online and saw there is no differentiation between Elisabeth with an S or Elizabeth with a Z. Both are the same in Hebrew apparently but there is a version with dots (niqqud?) and without. ΧΦ±ΧΦ΄ΧΧ©ΦΆΧΧΦ·Χ’ and ΧΧΧΧΧΧͺ What is the way to go here, is there a right and wrong here or is it a matter of modern and classic? Any input is most welcome
Sorry if it's been mentioned before, but I just realized Elisabeth and Noah (young) probably named their baby Charlotte after Elisabeth's mother, WITHOUT KNOWING THEY WERE CREATING THE OG CHARLOTTE? She probably wanted to name her kid after her own mom after losing her (in a way we don't know yet) without realizing she was creating her own mom by calling her Charlotte. WACK.
Mary, Ruth, Klara, Jane, Alma, Eleanor, Vivian, Matilda, Hazel, Moira, Gerta, Ksenia, Sveta, Olga... so many choices!
EDIT: Went with Mary Jane Elisabeth β most friends call her MJ, as it turns out : )
Thanks for all the feedback!
My wife and I are having a kiddo... Boy's name is solid: Elliott Scott. We both love the name Elliott and Scott is my dad's name, so perfect.
For a girl's name, we've both agreed on Elisabeth for three reasons:
The only sticking point is middle name. She wants Kathleen (her other grandmother's name), but I'm just not a fan. I haven't really said anything to her yet, but at the same time, I don't really have any suggestions, so hit me with it?
With a first name being 3 syllables long, I think I want something with a single syllable, but I can't think of anything other than Rose.
Haven't decided on a definite spelling for the first name yet and current family/legacy middle names include "Marie" and that's about it! I like the idea of "Davis" (old family name on DH's side) but DH strictly wants a feminine-sounding middle name.
Last name starts with an "M", as well.
Thanks!!
But thatβs not what matters. My name doesnβt matter because my name doesnβt mean anything. βA rose by any otherβ and whatnot. But I am not a rose. No, no, I am definitely far from being a rose. What am I? Well, perhaps you can tell me because Iβm just not quite sure. Iβm kind of hoping that maybe you might be able to help me.
Hm, now Iβm thinking. Do I really need help? I mean, do I really need to know what I am? Does anyone else? Sometimes I think it would be good if people knew but, othersβ¦ Sometimes I think it would be better if nobody knew. Like, if I just went to my special place and nobody came back. Sure, eventually someone may find my friends and I but, by then, even who I was wouldnβt matter because my name would be long gone. Iβd still be a mystery. A file somewhere. Old dust.
Maybe I should tell you about my friends. That may be a good place to start. That whole: guilty by association kind of thing. Perhaps that would be the best way to introduce myself. Maybe youβll find some clues. I donβt have many friends but the ones I do have are certainly not going anywhere. I liked them a lot so I made sure that we were friends for life. Sometimes I wonder if they like our little place but I picked it out just for them. Well, actually, I picked it out for my very first friend and then just brought any new ones there to show it to them.
I should start with my first friend. She had a name but, like I said, names donβt mean anything. She was very pretty when I met her but sheβs even more beautiful now, as sheβs grown with age. You could say that sheβs very fond of Mother Earth. She tells me stories about the squirrels that will visit her and she even has her own names for them. Sometimes I think she makes up the stories but, on occasion, a few of our other friends will confirm. They say that she doesnβt make them up because, they too, have witnessed the squirrels.
There is, of course, stories about birds, bugs, deer, that kind of thing but itβs usually the squirrels she talks about. See, I donβt get to spend every day in our special place but I try to visit often. Sometimes, I take new friends with me and introduce them. They always love the place and so they stay. When I come back to visit, you can bet that theyβre going to have some new stories for me. I love going there.
So, youβre probably wondering what has brought me to question what I am. Well, I found a new friend that I really liked. He asked me to go out w

Please suggest names for either gender that go well with Sonja and Elisabeth. We're hoping for names that are easily pronounced in English as well as German.
Thank you!
Here is a link to part 1 posted yesterday which covered Prophecies 1-6. This is Part 2, which will cover the remaining, second half of the Prophecies. Without further delay:
(1) A spark of knowledge with each fall, (2) the purpose of the endless youth.
(3) No longer shunned, dark's nameless call (4) now brings about tenebrous truth.
The sun sets in the west, thus sunfall would be in the west. The sun is also the origin of light, so to go West of Sunfall literally means to go Beyond light as the world you were once apart of befalls to darkness.
Yes I know, this one's name is a bit on the nose, and it occurs during season of the hunt - the same as the last prophecy with regards to Uldren's return as Crow - but this prophecy is still incredibly important and relevant.

I'm no lore expert, but I figured I would give a summary (as best I can muster) of what's happened in the Destiny universe so far - at least the main points.
There's so much lore and awesome detail in and between all these points. I would suggest reading the wikis and watching lore videos to catch up if you can! But this should hopefully cover the main stuff.

A/N : Yes, I've put the title very controversial - especially on r/kpopthoughts which is basically r/NCTthoughts. I know this wont get upvoted easily lol. But please read this fully. I very much support Doyoung and the other cast members, I just wanted to give another perspective to the situation that, in light of celebration, might not have crossed over to the international fandom
Tl;Dr: Doyoung's casting in Marie Antoinette is very controversial because the ratio of singer and actors for the quadruple casted role is 3 singers to 1 actor, and Marie is too big or a production to debut in.
So before you read this long, long post, I strongly suggest you read my previous post about the stigma against idols in the Korean musical theatre world.
After I made this post, a lot more has happened in regards to this topic, and I wanted to share this wirh you.
So, for the show Boss In The Mirror, Music Director Kim Moonjung was taken and she showed how she trains and directs musicals. One of them was the prestigious musical Empress Myeongseong, about the last empress of the Joseon dynasty before Japanese invasion.
BTOB's Changsub took on the role of General Hong Gyehyun, and the show showed One of his training sessions, as well as a martial arts training session
Kim Moonjung then explains that she has worked with a lot of Idols and shows te differences in pop singing vs. stage singing - enunciation, vocalisation (very important), stage presence and projection.
One can see in the video that Changsub is struggling with "bending" the note to how the director wants it. Also, you can hear the way he sing it - at the beginning, he's singing it like a soft love ballad, but he plays a general. He's supposed to sing it strongly and full of conviction and bravery, with more loyalty-love to the empress than romantic love.
BTOB is one of the best male vocal groups out there - the fact that Changsub is struggling and feeling pretty insecure means a lot.
He then of course went on to give a good performance , make the director proud and also earns a lot of respect from the mudeoks (musical fandom).
Sadly - and I'm saying this with a paining heart - a

F2: Friend two
EB: Entitled Brat
CM1, CM2, and CM3: Brat's clique member's, one through three.
*names will be replaced with other names.*
So the scene starts with the school going through a gas leak drill. We go to the safe building, a nearby Children's Mercy, and start to head back, when, just when the school is in view:
EB: Move it losers!
(Friends and Ilook behind us, and enter EB and CM1 through 3)
(EB pushes past us, Clique Members sniggering as we pass.)
F1: She was a jerk.
Me: Yeah.
F1: Who even are those other people?
F2: Let's see, That's Shella, Elisabeth, and... I don't know who else.
And, yeah that was it. The whole ordeal. But iff your are reading this, I'm coming for you, Sydney.
The thread about GD's future connected to something I was thinking about them lately: in their book, they claim Elisabeth Elliot is their hero. Elliot was the wife of Jim Elliot, a "missionary martyr" (read arrogant, zealous tool of colonizing forces) in the 1950s. She went on to make her first husband into an evangelical legend and their angsty courtship into the stuff of fundie fairytales. Her legacy is a pretty unfortunate one--she could be called the "mother of purity culture" and was apparently involved with IBLP at some point-- BUT I think it would be hard to deny that she was smart and talented. She was a Greek major in university and intended to be a missionary translator even when she felt "called to singleness." After her first husband's death, she and her toddler daughter went and lived with the Indigenous group who had killed him. (Again, "converting" the Indigenous peoples was a terrible colonial project, but you've got to admit the woman was tough and had misguided courage.) In later life she was a kind of Evangelical guru on relationships, being one of those women who made a big name for herself by telling other women to be submissive and feminine, while she was a strong personality, not fully traditionally feminine, and better known than her husbands. (Her construction of her first husband as the ideal man was a manipulative but clever act of myth-making.) She was a really problematic figure, but unlike the Baird "girls" she was (imo) interesting and strangely compelling. Fourteen-year-old me was much more drawn to an elevated story of "ultimate sacrifice" and the slightly pretentious and even steamy letters that Betty and Jim exchanged than to things like gestures whatever it is the Bairds do.
As someone commented on this ( https://medium.com/belover/the-purity-hoax-c9b1c4934325 ) piece about the Elliots' sexuality: "I heard her speak once. I was an impressionable teen at the time and her message of martyrdom and faithfulness to that memory of her husband and his zeal for the God he served, made a profound impression on me. I am sure I did get goosebumps at the time. She was an example of the Christian heroine and all the βrageβ among Christian women and girls at the time."
The novel Five Wives by Joan Thomas does an amazing job of showing these contradictions in Elisabeth (as well as several more sympathetic women); it also shows the complicated, sometimes harmful, legacy of the famous "mission" to the Huaorani. This article is oc

There was a presscall, and one question came towards Fany "why is a girl group member doing musicals?"
Here's the clip and Fany's fantastic answer
This question might seem ok, but in fact it's low-key disrespectful. Fany answered it wonderfully, along the lines of: the genre is different but we're all musicians. With the spirit of challenge having faith in my skills and abilities, I'd like to be both a girl group member and a musical actress and I'll work hard at both.
And to top the cake - at the press call, she KILLED It. You can see the training that she received from the seniors has paid off. Especially Choi Jeongwon's training/supervision (who is the OG Korean Roxie since 1999 who has been in every single run of Chicago). She has seen a lot of newcomers and has groomed many, and is considered a legend and a "seonsaengnim" (teacher) in the field.
Now, let me explain the overall situation : there is this stigma around idols/dance soloists that they aren't "real musicians". Tony of H.O.T. also talked about that in the Kpop evolution YouTube series : however hard they (H.o.t.) tried and wrote their music, they were branded as "manufactured" "off the factory" and cannot be "real artists", and that stigma is still around today.
Of course, that's bullshit. Idols are talented too. They can be real artists too.
Coming to the musical scene (here's a post on r/KoreanMusicals by my native Korean mu-deok friend, bokyungglinda, about idols in the musical industry for more detailed info) :
Due to the intense requirement of the musical industry, its seen as an elite club of sorts. The only way to get in is either a background in classical music (Kim So-hyun was a soprano) or applied vocal music - until the idol industry came about, and in 2005, main vocalist of 1st gen girl group Fin.K.L., Ock Joohyun, landed her first role in the musical Aida. The backlash she received, just because of her girl group background, was insane. And to top it off, her acting wasn't on par a.k.a. she was a goddamn rookie in her first musical and that basically branded her as "und

####1. Fanatics - From My Nightmare EP [OYO] π Recommended if you like: Master Error, Amplify, IMANU
Welcome to another entry in my "okay let's explore subgenres that aren't dancefloor or neuro for a week" series!
My first pick is the newest EP by Belgian multi-genre, but nowadays mostly Jump Up producer Fanatics! Since he has started putting out music in 2016, he has been featured on some big labels of the scene like Down2Earth, Cre8dnb and Gradient Records. While those are names that even someone who isn't exactly well-versed in the Jump Up scene (yes I'm talking about me here) could recognize, he still counts as a Hidden Gem of The Weekβ’ for me.
His newest From My Nightmare EP is released on the up-and-coming Hungarian Jump Up label OYO! Not only do they have some of the most unique and creepy cover arts I've ever seen, they've also been putting out some real quality music by some of the best newcomers of the subgenre. Since their inception in 2019, producers like Master Error, L3MMY DUBZ, Gino or Yatuza have joined the army of weird felt puppets (I promise this makes sense if you are familiar with their cover arts). There's not a whole lot known about the origin of the label as far as I can tell, all I know is that they have seen support by fellow Hungarian Neurofunk powerhouse label Eatbrain on multiple occasions, with some of the first OYO releases even having Eatbrain in their label credits on Spotify. So does Jade secretly enjoy J

Please note: I grouped together some names that are extremely similar, but not identical pronunciation (f.e. Camila and Kamilah). Also, I have a standard North American accent, so these names are listed as I would pronounce them.
My findings: there were 726 individual names in the top 1000 β the remaining are spelling variations.
These are the names and various spellings. The bolded names are the spellings I would use. What would you use?
Edit: spellcheck got me on a few of these, oops! Comment if u see a mistake :)
OK , so to celebrate my 10-hour-anniversary perma-ban for promoting uncivilized violence , I will discuss a topic that literally can flip entire Abrahamic religions upside , who is the Messiah of the Old Testament?
Take care that this post is not Qur'an alone , this will be based on the 3 prominent scriptures that hold Jesus of Nazareth biography , the Old/New Testaments and of course the Qur'an as the guide , so be attentive of the book names you will see.
______________________________________________________________________________
A Prophet is a messenger receiving revelation from Allah whose main job is to warn disbelievers and give good tidings to the believers , a Messiah is literally an awaited saviour who will grant an entire nation it's glory.
Jesus in Islam has both of these qualities , but does that mean he was also the saviour of the Jews?
The truth is NO.......
______________________________________________________________________________
Because it's written in the Gospels that Jesus said that and Jews refused him , or as it looks like to be!
However , to clear this up , we must disprove what's written in the Gospels to show who is lying , and that's possible by using the two Testaments and the Qur'an to prove it.
______________________________________________________________________________
Jesus was mentioned at least three times in the Old Testament:
However , these are prophecies of a messenger and not a Messiah , now what does prove that Jesus is not that awaited Messiah?
By simply refuting a Messiah requirement that Jesus will never fulfill even after his second coming , this is the prophecy that says the Messiah will be a descendant of King David (Dawud):
>Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come
