A list of puns related to "Electric Theatre"
Hi r/audiodrama friends,
Theatre of the Electric Mouth (or ThEM!) is proud to present our latest full audio drama piece, Cross of Crying Dogs. It's an abstract, amorphous poem designed to titillate and befuddle your senses. It's funny and weird and cosmic in scope. And oh yeah, it features a boatload of precious pups.
On our website, you can find the piece on your preferred podcasting platform. We also have a video version up on YouTube.
As always, feedback is welcome. We also have over half a dozen other full pieces you can check out alongside Cross, as well as audio and video replays of our From the Electric Mouth series, which is a monthly AI Generated Script Live Read featuring our company working from a script entirely constructed by our resident AI Playwright, Intelligence.
We hope you enjoy checking out our stuff! We've got a lot of great new work coming soon that we can't wait to share with everyone.
Hello dear audio drama friends! ThEM's April release is now live across all of our platforms, which you can peruse at your leisure over on our website. We also have a video version on our YouTube channel.
This month's release is The Truth. The story of an father reaching out to his estranged daughter one last time from beyond the grave...with a startling revelation.
It's a goofy little story and we're very happy with how it all turned out. And if you like mythical creatures, then you are in for a treat.
As always, feedback is very welcome! Happy listening.
Hi r/audiodrama friends,
Today some compatriots and myself are launching a new audio drama-based theatre company, Theatre of the Electric Mouth.
We are a group of actors, writers, directors, sound designers, and composers (and more!) from all over the world. Many of us had artistic pursuits or careers that were upended by the lockdown in March, and forming the group has been a way to continue creating art in a safe and productive way for all of us. Speaking for myself, it has been a really amazing thing to focus on.
Our first piece, ASK THE VOID, went up today. Here's a little bit about it from our press release:
>With an absurdist lens somewhere between Eugene Ionesco and Tim and Eric, Ask the Void imagines a world where those seeking advice in life and love call into The Void and bask in the guidance of that cantankerous abyss. Who better to trust on the important stuff than the endless, cascading nothingness that threatens daily to engulf us all!
You can check out our website via the link up above and see where we're hosting our first piece; there are audio versions on the usual podcast suspects as well as a version with a video component on YouTube. You can also check out our Instagram where we've been posting clips and videos with our cast and creative team for this piece. We plan on expanding on and having a lot of fun with behind the scenes content in the future.
This is our first piece, like I said, so I was really looking forward to sharing it with this community and am interested in hearing any feedback or engagement you folks have to offer.
Happy watching & listening!
I donβt know if itβs been mentioned but Clown spoke about the project in his podcast episode with Daniel P Carter. He didnβt say a lot but he said in lockdown he has finalised it. Apparently it was supposed to be released around Christmas but this to me suggests they have a new date!
Like most nights lately, Hannah canβt help anxiously combing through the previous dayβs thoughts as she drifts to sleep. This night, however,Β she discovers an unexpected occupant in the recesses of her mind. And he's not going anywhere.
Hi friends,
Theatre of the Electric Mouth is proud to present it's second piece, 'Occupancy'! You can check out all of our hosting options at our website theatreoftheelectricmouth.com. We've expanded to Google Podcasts as per suggestions on here after the release of our first piece, 'Ask the Void', last month. In addition to our audio options, there is also a video version on YouTube with video components.
Listens, questions, comments, and feedback is of course appreciated.
Thanks all! Enjoy.
Theatre of the Electric Mouth's latest piece comes out tonight!
It's one we're really proud of, a ridiculous game show featuring puns, robot-groin lasers, and prizes you won't believe. You can find all of our podcast and audio hosting options via our website. We also have a fantastic video iteration of Newman that you can find on our channel. Our two previous releases, 'Ask the Void' and 'Occupancy', are also available for listening or watching.
Be sure to stop by and give it a listen, and to follow along for updates on our present and future projects on our social media.
As always, feedback is welcome!

"So anyway the Car comes down the Motorcade, Now I don't know if Kennedy was in Texas for something politcal or more sexual. Anyway I start blasting. BAM!. Now I don't aim so good so I missed. They try to drive away and then BAM! BAM! I get Him and the Governor. I tried to leave the next day on an airplane but I don't escape too well either" -Frank Harvey Reynolds.
If you haven't seen Bob's Electric Theatre, you probably should. From The Public Domain Review (publicdomainreview.org):
A film by the pioneering Spanish film director and cinematographer Segundo ChomΓ³n. With his innovative use of early splice-based tricks and a penchant for optical illusions he is often compared to the slightly earlier Georges MΓ©liΓ¨s, and indeed has been dubbed βThe Spanish MΓ©liΓ¨sβ by some. Though the similarities are clear, ChomΓ³n departs from MΓ©liΓ¨s in his variety of subjects and his use of animation, an art form he played a key role in developing. ...
The following year came Bobβs Electrical Theatre (also referred to as Miniature Theatre) which sees puppets get up to various routines, including wrestling, fencing, and what appears to be a short bout of bum smacking. The version we are featuring here comes from a copy preserved and restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive. Of the film, Jerry Beck from the UCLA site comments:
>Although this is one of the earliest stop-motion puppet films ever created, it is quite sophisticated and loaded with charmβ¦. The lifelike use of puppet dolls here predates the work of Ladislas Starevitch (pioneering stop-motion puppeteer) and Willis OβBrien (The Lost World and King Kong).

A little context:
I'm an electrician just starting out. I have a few jobs under my belt, along with a recent college degree. Right now I'm working at a regional theatre as an intern. My supervisor is the ME. There is also an assistant ME, and another intern. There is also an overhire sometimes, in addition to "general" interns who are shared between shops depending on the day.
My major concerns
We have never been ready for focus on time. for show #2, we were 4 hours late, I was so embarrassed. I've since recovered and am now used to being 1-2 hours late for focus. We are late because we are still hanging, running data, pulling and dropping color, troubleshooting, patching. I work as fast as I can when the LD shows up to try and get focus started, but I can't do top speed over a week of load in and a week of tech. I can't sustain it. More importantly, I don't want to sustain it.
I get frustrated not knowing our schedule. I understand long hours, and I am happy to put them in - it's honestly one of the reasons I enjoy my job! But not knowing what to expect is difficult. Typically I will receive texts around 10pm (or later!) saying that I need to be in the next morning. Several times I was asleep before I received a text. Our 'schedule' is typically the boss standing with us at the end of the day, saying "here's what I'm thinking for the rest of the week." Then, dates for focus and other deadlines will be incorrect (as pointed out by one of us), so the 'schedule' being planned is scrapped. Sometimes things are written on a production-wide notice board, but vaguely and often incorrect.
Are these things normal? Do most electrics departments not have schedules/plans for the entire team to see? ...Do I just have a combination of experience that misled me? I've brought up all of these things at varying times (not at once) and there seems to have been nothing done/said about it.
I would really like to bring up some of these issues (also some things I am not mentioning here, because they are more specific to the people involved) in an exit interview, and get feedback on how I've handled things. I don't feel like I know my place, I have no idea if I've ever stepped out of line with my demands for information. Is this a bad idea? How would I even request an exit meeting in this situation?
TL;DR: I have no idea how to handle my professional job. My boss makes too many mistakes for me to trust him - otherwise, I like my job. Help!
