Thought this would be relevant to what WFT is going through and see what the process is like. They discontinued their former name the 21st of July 2020. Less then a year later they’ve found a new one.

I'd like to find out opinions on the rebrand decision and the suggested new names among folks living in the Greater Edmonton region and Northern Alberta. I had completely missed this happening so thought others might have as well — and wanted to give some love to our brothers in the north! If anyone’s thought about what football team to cheer for in the CFL... well there’s only one other Football Team.
The Edmonton Eskimos were renamed the Edmonton Football Team (or EE Football Team) on July 21 and two days later Washington announced the temporary Washington Football Team name. The use of the term “eskimos” has been criticized for a long time (the correct term is Inuit).
