Understanding Facebook EdgeRank Algorithm 2020 (Updated). There are billions of people in the world of Facebook, many businesses are targeting these billions of people and every business wants to share his post or page to billions of people that his business will increase.
Often you will have dynamo by doing these freelancing jobs, you invested money 5000 rupees for boosting page, you think that your post will reach of many people and eventually sale will be an increase of my client and I will become a successful digital marketer. But what actually happened? You wasted almost all investment, neither likes nor comments, now you confused. You wasted client investment and have not benefited from this investment.
What is the reason behind this? Facebook uses the Algorithm to reach post to people which means Facebook uses a computer formula for this purpose, this formula is called EdgeRank.
EdgeRank actually the name of the Facebook post algorithm. Facebook use this formula for reaching post or advertisement to peopleβs news feed. If you have a few special things in advertisements that exist in Facebook formula (EdgeRank) then your post will reach many people as compared to your competitors.
There are many selling clothes companies which exist in Pakistan and different countries. These companies want to share this post or advertisement so that people buy this product as much as possible. But there are different things that the Facebook algorithm used. Before the starting of the discussion on these things. You need to understand about Facebook Algorithm that what is it, and how it works.
EdgeRank is a Facebook algorithm that Facebook uses to determine what posts or pages should be displayed in peopleβs News Feeds. As of 2011, Facebook has stopped using this formula and start using a machine learning algorithm.
According to Wikipedia:
>βAs of 2011, Facebook has stopped using the EdgeRank system and uses a machine-learning algorithm that, as of 2013, takes more than 100,000 factors into accountβ
According to the latest update, four factors used in the Facebook algorithm work. Letβs take a look at these factors:
I manage FB for a regional newspaper and use a ShareThis widget to quickly post links to stories from our site to the FB page. I notice that -- for the number of fans we have -- our reach is very very low on these type of posts. I am somewhat aware of Edgerank, how it operates, and how it rates videos and photographic posts higher than links and text-only posts. My question is, does EdgeRank hate posts that are automatically generated using widgets like ShareThis, limiting their reach?
So we have slightly under 2,000 Facebook likes. Big deal, useless vanity metric. But users do drop notes and sometimes sing our praises so I feel like we should be actively posting to Facebook 2-3 times a week. Major announcements catch likes.. but thoughtful posts get ZERO engagement and ZERO virality. Of course, if you post a picture of a sizzling cheeseburger smothered in bacon, 20 likes, on the spot.
Does anyone else feel like Edgerank is just a race to the bottom? Shoving tripe down mindless consumers heads to game the algo? Tempted to put up a voting contest: Like this picture if you eat Taco Bell Chalupas, Share this Picture if you want to see an end to cancer.
anyone bummed out about fb as a marketing channel?
If you rely on Facebook to reach out to your community/fans, here are some valuable tips:

Instagram is such a spammy place on a ton of hashtags, I'd love it if they tried to do quality control.
I know some 'brand managers' hate it, but..
Yesterday I posted an image that was very popular - with about 7% likes per my (unpaid) reach. Today I posted an online coupon and threw a few bucks behind it, but even with the money the old post is currently doing better than the sponsored one.
I mean literally at this moment more people are seeing my old post than my sponsored one from today.
I can't believe I am asking this, but are there any strategies to making this old post seem like "old news?" It is doing so unexpectedly well that I will probably put some money behind it in the future, but it is hindering what I want to do right now.
I honestly never thought a post performing too good could be a problem.
Does anyone has read or seen an analysis on how much more valuable is a:
thanks
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Heard they've been doing some shady business.
