My first and only choice was the Ed.D. in Global Sport Leadership program...and I’m in!!!!! Wow, what a feeling. There were times that pursuing a doctoral degree felt impossible, because I came out of undergraduate with a 2.1, earned a master’s with a 3.58, and have no research history to my name. I’m so excited. I’m so nervous. All I know is that, today, I am celebrating until it’s time to go to sleep! I wish the best for everyone. Some of the posts in here really kept me going mentally. While I never really posted in here, I still noticed how everyone in here is super supportive. That is such a great thing. I hope you are all rewarded for your kindness.

Hi- question about Nashville. I am not from the area and have never really spent more than a couple of hotel nights there. My daughter has received a full ride scholarship to Tennessee State University, which is unbelievably amazing. We haven't visited campus yet but what I'm reading so far is less than ideal. Can you share with me any impressions on the area of town in which it is located? Anyone with personal experience there? We do have means for many other schools, so free is GREAT, but not the be all end all.

With the approval of the student fee increase from the Tennessee Board of Regents the Bucs will be back on the field by 2015(is the schedule so far) after more than 10 years!

C. Allen Gorman is a soon-to-be Associate Professor of Management at East Tennessee State University, where he teaches MBA courses in Strategic Leadership and undergraduate courses in Leadership and Training and Development. Allen’s research interests revolve around performance appraisal/management, training, leadership, and individual differences in work attitudes and behavior. His work has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, the Journal of Business and Psychology, and the Journal of Vocational Behavior. Allen is also principal consultant for GCG Solutions, LLC, a human resources and leadership consulting firm. He received his PhD in I/O Psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, his MA in I/O Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and his BA in Psychology from the University of Georgia. When not at the office, Allen enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two sons.
