A list of puns related to "Dragonball Evolution"
Do you think when they first saw each other at table reads or on set for Shameless there was a βlets hope this show doesnβt suck as bad as THAT did!β moment?
It's a harsh comparison, I know.
The reason that this season 1 of The Wheel of Time TV series reminds me of that dumpster fire of a live-action adaptation is the way the One Power was presented. WoT acting was leagues better, I love Rosamund for the way she played that role and there was a LOT of dedication in most of the cast, I can tell they read the books. The casting could have been better, I wont go on that tangent but simple camera angle skill would have sold this TV series much better for the dramatic action scenes.
Seeing the Power on screen like that was utterly disappointing. No more forgiveness of excuses, it was bad. What I don't understand is that they clearly could have made it more true to the extremely detailed descriptions in the books, evidenced by the 2 times a shield was woven around someone and constricted in. That honestly looked good!
So why didn't they? Can't be budget, they didn't pour that money into sets and wardrobe that much is obvious. Having every tendril look the same with the exception of black energy to show "bad stuff" came across like the air farts of Dragonball Evolution. I've seen better CGI for lower budgets and better directing to make it feel more substantial. The Harry Potter series did magic dual and energy effects better over a decade ago. This was sloppy, and I ask they make the effort to do a better job in season 2.
I gave up a while ago about the WOT show being close to the source material. Now I'm left hoping the show turns out more like The Bourne Identity, which has almost nothing in common with the books but is still good. But I have this feeling that it's going to go the route of DragonBall
Dragonball Evolution did not ruin the franchise. It was admittedly a terrible movie, quite possibly an all time stinker, but it did not ruin Dragonball. It was forgotten. Years later, dragonball is stronger than its ever been with several movies and new show (Super), with more on the way and universal love.
Death Note was a terrible adaptation by Netflix, but it did not ruin the franchise. Years later and the franchise remains strong in anime/manga circles. It didn't get retroactively cancelled or avoided because the movie was bad.
There are several more examples of poor adaptations, with more planned (Yu Yu Hakusho), but my point is: This will not ruin One Piece. The people who love it now aren't going to quit the anime or manga because of this. If the Netflix series is bad, and it may be if previous manga adaptations are a sign, then nothing will change about the series you love. It won't affect your life, because you can return to the manga/anime whenever you want. It wont change story events. It won't change the source characters.
So I hope that whoever reads this and still gets upset about the Netflix series, just remember, it's still the series you love. If it's bad, it will be forgotten. And if it's good by some miracle, then we will all be hella spoiled. And regardless, we may get a few new fans whether good or bad.
One Piece will remain One Piece no matter what.
I literally hear no one says nice things about this movie other than of course Willem Dafoe as ryuk as excellent casting other than that a lot of people hate this movie saying is just as bad as Dragonball evolution and hell they even harass the director of the movie who wind up deleted his Twitter account because anime fans were that offended with this movie but I seen surprisingly amount of people that are defending this movie including anime YouTubers like Anime America and mother basement why is that?
As the prompt says. These are the "we don't talk about those" kind of movies. What order from bad to worst would you put them in?
I love all 3 of those movies, Eragon more so cuz medieval. I've watched them so many times that I have lost count. Its a shame people don't like the movies cuz I do think they're very entertaining and I don't get why a lot people don't like them.
P.S Tried watching the dragon ball anime, dozed off same with The last Airbender. Loved The Inheritance Cycle tho.
I was a fan of the show but Evolution was way off my radar at the time.
Donβt walk, run to your TV to watch this instant classic now!! Supplies are limited, wait 6-8 weeks for arrival! Youβll pay for the whole seat, but youβll only need the edge!
which of these horrible movie adaptaions have the strongest title character?
battle takes place in NYC
the characters are in character but are going to fight to the death
no prep
edit: I meant the 1998 Godzilla. I accidently put a typo
So i watched dragon ball, i watched dragonball z, i watched GT and i watched a bit of dragonball super even. I loved them all as a child growing up, i remember fighting off family members from the TV so i could catch the 17h00 airing. Got the tazos and action figures ans all that jazz. With that said, i enjoyed Evolution, ive watched it a couple times aswell because everyone says it sucks and i try and see what they see, but everytime i watch it, i enjoy it. I realise it doesnt really stick with the source material, and as a stand alone movie the acting is also something strange, but im feeling like a wanna go watch it right now tbh. And i think i will...
Thank you reddit for giving me something to do
Basically assume that maybe when Thor was banished to earth it had some weird effect where Goku from BDE was teleported to the MCU, how are things different and how far does he get?
Now, to fully understand this, I want you to understand the different levels of consciousness and vibration and how they affect everything you do. Think of it like growing up within a single lifetime or zooming out of Google maps. The further you're away, the better you see how everything connects and where you really were before. Also, at higher levels, you can make such profound works that they are both hidden and in plain sight at the same time and you can with but a sentence say more than someone with a book. This is why the divine masters would change millions of lives by just saying a few words, writing a small book or even being in your presence. If you think the rest of the post is far fetched, please re-read this paragraph again. They could also plant seeds into consciousness knowing that they will germinate years later.
DragonBall was made in Japan, a country that has made a fortune in videogames and anime by tapping into esoteric beliefs and Eastern religious tropes. In DragonBall Goku and the gang are on a hunt for the elusive Dragon Balls, seven mystical orbs that, when gathered together, summon a fearsome serpent who can fulfill their every desire.
Both good and evil characters wanted to summon this creature to fulfil their whims, which provided the bulk of the series' conflict. Only the strongest and smartest of warriors could complete the quest to collect the dragonballs, and the quest to raise the dragon was the plot of many of the series' early seasons.
The operating principle behind the original DragonBall series borrows hugely from eastern religion, specifically Tantra and the Hindu Chakra system. The Chakras are seven energy centers which are located along the spine.
In Tantra, the practitioner is trying to raise the divine serpent Kundalini, who sleeps in the first chakra, muladhara.
This serpent will raise the practitioner's 'power levels' immensely if it is awakened, but the practitioner must first have aligned all seven of his or her Chakras, or else the serpent will not ascend. White Tantrics, who raised this power for good, often opposed black Tantrics in their lusting for power. The use of the number seven, the shape and nature of the Dragon, and the series' Eastern origin all indicate that the series is at least superficially linked to Hindu Tantra.
Now, I want you to carefully watch the trailer for the ve

That's right, I know what I typed, there is one good thing about that abomination of a movie and that is ....... the title. Yeah that's it , I think the title " dragonball: evolution" was pretty cool, I would definitely prefer that title over dragonball super , I enjoy dragonball super , it's just that I feel the title is kind of " childish " . Dragonball evolution as a title is cool cause that's what the saiyans do after they fight , they evolve . I wish the shitty movie got the dragonball super title , while the continuation of dragonball z Kai would be dragonball evolution . So yeah That's it just the title , the movie is still a piece of shit.
I just watched it. I was prepared for a disgusting abomination and yeah it was pretty bad.
But in its own way itβs campy af and just kind of does its own thing. A new take on the characters, with bad actors. Super cheesy but itβs like The Room. worth a watch for yourself.
