A list of puns related to "Doom Patrol"
It was on the watch list for "maybe when I want to get HBO Max some time." Surprise, a friend just subscribed and set me up a profile because they knew I loved Doctor Who. I'm not ready to start on Jodie Whittaker's incarnation yet (I'm going to need at least an uninterrupted weekend for that), so I fired up Doom Patrol instead. Damn. Damn. It's Dirk Gently, but for superheroes. Brendan Fraser is killing it. Loving Alan Tudyk. I can't wait to keep binging this.
I wanted to know whatβs your favourite thing about the Doom Patrol TV show?
Personally I love that the team feels like a family unlike with other superhero teams (like the DCEU Justice League for example)

Many episodes are so absolutely awful, random and non linear that you're left questioning your own sanity for having watched the show.
Overall it's a great disservice to the poor CG team and actors that such absolute garbage had to be made into television.
I'm genuinely astounded the show doesn't have a 5/10 rating on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes due to all the absolute crap filler.

Having watched The Boys and Umbrella Academy, Iβve got to say this series tops both. The schizophrenic pacing and storyline. The range of emotions in each episode. Soundtrack is spot on. Timothy Dalton!
If nothing else then some Brandon Fraser love! Iβm not sure if itβs just me wanting him to be happy after some tumultuous years or him hitting the character out of the park, Robot Man crushes!
I just recently finished the last season of Doom Patrol and nothing made me happier than watching it after Titans lol.
After watching the first three episodes of Titans I really thought they could pull it off this season and redeem themselves for the second one but we all know how it went.
One thing I noticed when comparing the two shows is how little we know about the Titans as people. Apart from maybe Dick and all the Batfamily members, it seems like each character gets only one fact we can know about them. They don't have struggles or aspirations, their main problems are dream sequences and getting told by Dick what to do once a episode. Like, what do we really know about Gar?
I also don't get all the people who prefer Titans and say that Doom Patrol is dumb and lacks actions. I mean, it's totally okay if you like a more action-packed show, but where is the action or crime fighting in Titans? Three aliens and Beast boy punching random people under a bridge?
Also, it takes a group of really talented writers to introduce bizarre situations and characters with barely any exposition and making it believable and enjoyable. Doom Patrol manages to introduce new recurring characters every other episode, and they never steal the spotlight or character development time from the main cast (looking at you, Tim Drake...) (also thank god for the actors that at least manage to make their characters likeable even with all the shitty writing)
Take for example Kory and Vic. Starfire spent three seasons losing her memories or powers, getting them back, not knowing their source and not being able to control them, losing them again. Vic instead went through a nice arc of getting to know himself, what his father did to him and finally being able to decide if he wants to spend his life being Cyborg.
Enough rambling tho, as for now I won't watch the new season of Titans when it gets released, can't drag my friend through another 13 episodes of this, I feel too guilty. I will probably check once in a while only to see if Dick and Kory get together :)
Edit: Just learnt that the original cast want to be on the show, but they werenβt given a chance.

Although it may create more questions than answers and vast majority of it dark and rather gloomy, there are quite so many gems spread all around it. It's almost a parody of the superhero multiverse, but in terms of struggling with identity, mental health and queerness, I found it brave, liberating, compassionate and unexpectedly wholesome and hopeful.
It may not for everybody, but if you like it, you might as well love it as a whole.
I'll answer any questions you have about how to get into being an extra/what it's like/really anything :)
Hey everyone!
Omni shopping and was looking to see if I could get a good price on the things listed in the title.
Was looking for a few omnis that are hard to find figured Iβd ask on here
Frank Miller daredevil Secret warriors Doom patrol silver age Gotham city sirens Peter David hulk vol 1
Season 3 starts with a hand waving of the weird COVID ending of Season 2. Five minutes later, Season 3 starts and... HOLY SHIT. There's something more mature this season, both in the characters and the writing. Its like they have established the world so well at this point that we as the audience are just on board. They pulled off a backdoor pilot this season that was so good I legitimately didn't even realise it was a backdoor pilot. All the new characters are so fucking interesting and they clearly have a much higher budget this season. I just can't believe the level of quality that im seeing with this season. Its like they don't have any sort of production constraints this year. I think its really at a level that we only really see on HBO.
So without spoiling anything at all, I just want to say you guys seriously need to watch Doom Patrol. You don't need to know much going in and you don't need to watch anything else to follow along.
