A list of puns related to "Dog Drink"
This is petty but I genuinely don't know. I stopped over at a friend's house yesterday for a brief visit after driving 3 hours from out of town with my dog. It was a hot day and when I arrived he offered me a glass of water. After drinking some of the water, he asks me if I want a bowl of water on the ground for my dog. I said no don't worry about it, I'll just let her have mine. In my head this was being courteous, as I didn't want him to have to take out/wash another dish. Well he flipped out, said that was absolutely disgusting, and how could I think it was okay to let my dog use a human glass.
AITA? I was done with my water, my dog is small and only needs like two sips so its not like she was slobbering everywhere, so I might as well give her some sips and then wash my glass. And I did immediately go hand wash my glass, and afterwards, seeing that there were no hand towels, I reached for a paper towel and he chided me for being wasteful.
2021 is a hot mother fucker, and its especially hot when you're thumbing it on the blacktop highways, or sitting in a hot ass shaky boxcar.
And this goes for you too, vandwellers, sitting in a van searching for that oasis of shade in the Wal-mart parking lot.
This goes for you as well, biketramps, pedaling that bicycle 7.3 miles to the nearest remnant of a town that has an open gas station.
And here's looking at you also, backpackers and trailhikers, that think one Nalgene bottle is enough water too reach that crest and double back.
HALF A GALLON MINIMUM FOLKS!
ONE FULL GALLON HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
One full gallon is HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended for 2021. It's record.breaking highs out there already, and it ain't ending soon.
Yes, I KNOW. A full gallon of water is FUCKING HEAVY. (One Gallon = 8.4lbs)
Wanna know the best way to pack a gallon water in order to pack it lighter? It's an oooold not-so-secret hobo trick that we trainhoppers do with a gallon jug of wine (mad shout to my homie Carlos Rossi!) :
Wanna know our hobo trick? DRINK THAT SHIT.
THAT'S RIGHT! DRINK IT UP! Pack that shit right there in your fuckin tummy boys and girls, because that's the whole fucking point.
Before you leave that store, before you take off on that trail, before you jump on that train or stand on that highway, drink atleast a quarter-gallon before you even start. AND FILL THAT DOGGY BOWL UP!
And after you drink it, you use it conservatively and wisely during the next leg of your trip until you get access to water again.
I'll use trainhoppers for an example, as we are sometimes the fucking worst at this. We are the best and worst at everything, what can I say?!
Example:
You wake up, hungover like HELL, from drinking vodka, beer, and wine at the same time til 4am. (big NO NO!)
And right there, on the side-out rail next to the main rail, sits the most beautiful open boxcar you've ever seen. And its CONNECTED.
You hear the brake tests, hissing and poppin, and you know that train is airing the fuck up and getting ready to get the fuck out..
White PTI van just soars by in a gust of dust, dropping off those fatbelly conductors to the lead engine units. Oh sweet fucking nectar.
You got 10 fucking minutes max to pack your shit and hit the dirt and gravel running with your 3 friends and the 3 pitbulls.
And suddenly, once you're tucked away in that hot-as-fuck boxcar, all 4 of us hungover fucktards and do a water inventory, and realize we only have about 2 gallons

I promise not to spam y'all every week, but I didn't give good notice last week.
East Limestone High School Band has been invited to march in the first Vietnam Veterans Day parade in Honolulu, Hawaii, and perform at Pearl Harbor. The band boosters are doing a fundraiser every weekend through the end of July at S&J Produce (US72 at Clift Farms) grilling burgers and hot dogs. Most weekends, not this weekend, there will be shave ice.
This WAFF article has info and a paypal donation link. I also have a GoFundMe link to directly support my kid for this, but I won't spam it to the group.
He usually devours treats and never says no to food, but today he stopped moving on a walk and didn't seem to be able to move much. We carried him home and he refused to eat a treat (extremely unlike him) or drink, so we're not sure what happened. It's been fairly warm here, maybe that has something to do with it?
Can you believe Ward was wearing socks with his sandals?
My partner and I (32M and 29M) were invited to our friend's new house this evening. She recently bought her first house and moved in a few weeks ago. The covid rules in our country (UK) were recently relaxed enough to allow people to mix outdoors, such as in gardens. Our friend has a small yard, just big enough for 2 benches facing each other.
Our friend also started a new relationship during lockdown and we haven't met her boyfriend yet. We were invited to visit and sit in her garden for a few drinks so we could catch up and meet her new partner. We were aware, from social media posts, that her new boyfriend has a dog. We asked if the dog was going to be there, as my partner doesn't like dogs. He's not scared of them or anything, just doesn't like to be around them. Our friend initially explained the dog would be there, but they would keep it inside while we sat in the garden for a few drinks.
I was chatting over WhatsApp with our friend earlier today, asking what time we should come over, etc, and I double checked the dog definitely wouldn't be outside with us. She replied saying "she'll probably stay indoors because it's cold but we're not going to purposefully keep her away... she'll be excited when you first arrive but then she'll calm down and leave you alone". This is where we are wondering if we're TAs - we said we'd have to re-arrange because my partner didn't want to share a small space with a dog. Our friend is pissed off at us and said we should have "compromised" so we could meet her new boyfriend. Our view is that a reasonable compromise would have been to keep the dog indoors while we were there and we would have only stayed for an hour or so. We also suggested they come to our place, but they didn't want to leave the dog on its own.
So Reddit, are we the assholes for cancelling?
Edit 1: Some people are asking for this information and others are making assumptions. To be clear, the boyfriend and his dog do not live with our friend. He was only going to be there to see our friend and for us to meet him. He didn't want to leave his dog alone at home (which is fair enough and is between him and our friend if he wants to bring his dog whenever he visits). Thanks for all the feedback!
My dog has been sick the last few days (vomiting and diarreah), the weather is very hot at the moment and he drinks very rarely. I'm getting worried, should I do something so he drinks more?
Hi everyone! Any little advice is deeply appreciated, thank you! :) This is my first dog, so I'm unaware of how other dogs take to drinking water. My dog is an 8 mo male Indian Spitz (a close cousin to the German spitz {mittlespitz}). By nature, he is boisterous, happy, friendly, active and a bit too hyper. Just gets his brain thrown out whenever meeting someone new, pulling on the leash with endless excitement, as if he HAS TO, no matter what, pounce on the person (coming in for a few pets) crazily bouncing around, barely letting the person touch him, similar while meeting other dogs. π
He's has been extremely fussy about food (and water likewise) since he was younger, but that's our fault, he's just so spoilt! :) In the recent months, his aversion to water has deepened more than ever before. He very rarely wants to have enough water, it's usually just 2-3 tongue dips and that's all, even after running like crazy. Avoided water even after meals. So a few months backs, we got a hand-feeding medicine/water syringe (sometimes used for birds, etc. to nurse back to health), we would fill it with water and somehow hold him in place (just hyper and reluctant), tell him to sit, gently raise his head a bit, then let him take it in his mouth, then slowly push fine streams of water into his mouth, bit-by-bit. Other times when he has ran around like a lunatic, he finally comes to the water bowl and tries cooling himself down a bit. Earlier when he would tire out, he would have a good amount of water, but now it's just a few spoonfuls.
But while he takes the water in, sometimes he coughs, gags, gets choked and tries to throw up, but I've read that this is common while gulping too quickly. This happens more often when we try it with the water syringe, so we avoid it most of the time.
Also, we stay in a tropical place, the heat may be compelling him to take a few sips, no? But it's almost never that we see him approaching his bowl by himself.
The frequent coughing and gagging after drinking a bit has me concerned. Upon searching up a bit, these may be symptoms of a hypoplastic trachea (a relatively poorly developed trachea). There were other conditions too, but they didn't satisfy a few factors, so am not thinking of them causing the discomfort.
Finally, just wanted to know if dogs are generally disinterested in water when they're not tired enough or is it just my dog, or if he might be having trouble getting the water inside.
We typically make him drink wate
... keep reading on reddit β‘My do just got surgery to remove a mass in both of his ears. He hasn't peed in about 5 hours. He also shows slight signs of deafness. Occasionally, I would call him and he would look over, but most of the time he doesn't. He also hasn't drank any water. Is this normal in a post op dog?
I think it's good to mention that he did in fact eat a small amount of food. He asked for more, but we did what the vet stated (feed him 1/3 of his usual meal for tonight.). He does not show any signs of pain. He hasn't cried/whine or do anything unusual. He is currently sleeping.
Like, what will I say? We had to make the terrible choice to put our dog down yesterday. I love that dog so much. She loves..loved me so much. I see her beautiful eyelashes when I blink my eyes. I think I see her in the backyard, then realize it's a trick of the light.
Grief is horrible. IWNDWYT
I wanted to let everyone know that I just saw a post on my Nextdoor App from a person whoβs dog recently passed away and the culprit being the water their dog drank from one of the ponds. I take my dogs out there frequently and I was totally unaware of this. I have included the post from the person below:
βMy dog died after drinking water from lake at gate 11 Shelby Farms. Vet said he picked up something from lake or puddle water that caused tumors to grown in his intestines. He stopped eating right, lost weight, vomited a lot, then misdiagnosed at Memphis Animal Clinic on the corner of Central and Parkway. It was too late to save him by the time I got him to another vet.β
Hi everyone...this is my first post to /roadtrip. I hope I'm conforming to any written / unwritten rules for the sub. Thank you!
