Been avoiding having to address my bathroom that has my only shower in it for about 4 months and its just been emotionally devastating that my godson hasn't been able to come over due to the potential hazmat concerns. There's mold and suspected asbestos material that came loose, so it's understandable that a kid who has the most life expectancy ahead of him to mitigate any potential serious disease happening later. I've talked extensively with a wide variety of people in the field of how to safely collect the sample and most importantly not produce dust when taking off the ppe. It's super anxiety provoking but I'm doing it because i am so loved. Say a prayer that the lab reports come back all clear and it will be a truly happy new year indeed!! My godson said he will come over wearing a top hat and we will dance for joy like crazy in my living room. Then, there's potential for all the wonderful things like him playing with my cats, getting my place in gear for him to sleep over, me hosting dinner here, maybe make new friends, set up the cat super highway shelves of my dreams cuz i couldn't hang anything at all , have photos and artwork of my family that is no longer with us out of storage, and just a huve relief that i dont have to move again this year. However, if it is bad, it will be far better for me to be able to plan ahead financially and legally since my lease ends at the end of August (yes, this is a rental apartment, no, the landlord doesn't do anything and i don't want to be blamed for their structural neglect) so either way...

I remember when this song came out and everyone in my friend group was blown away by how heavy it was. After seeing Prada this past weekend and seeing how insane the crowd got for this song, I still stand by this song being one of the heaviest songs to ever exist. A lot of bands, TDWP included, have switched to lower tunings and 7-string guitars, but idc because this song is still holds up to this day. The Zombies EP has aged extremely well.

Just a word of advice to everyone, never order anything from Merch Connection . I pre-ordered two vinyl records of Zombie EP II (Awakening and Midnight) by The Devil Wears Prada back in April on their official live stream site. I got the email on August 29th that orders were beginning to be shipped out.
Since then, I have not received any updates on my order. Despite multiple attempts at contacting them by email over the past two months (in which they boldly claim to respond within 24 hours), I have been all but ignored.
It seems like I'm not the only one having this problem, either. Facebook posts on their page and complaints on their BBB page have similar claims as mine. I understand that it's not the bands fault, as they don't directly handle the merch, but I feel like something should be done about this on their management side of things.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. Since this was pre-ordered back in April, the time period for a charge back has now expired, so that is not an option anymore. It seems like my only option now is to keep bombarding them with emails (since that is their only point of contact), and hope that they are kind enough to not steal my money. If anyone has any advice, I appreciate it.

About 25 years ago I was in New York on business. I am friends with Ziggy, a writer/editor who I would see for dinner and drinks when I was in town, usually it was at whatever place was hip/happening at the time. Between the two of us we managed to wrangle invites to some cool lounges or art shows.
Ziggy was sharing a swanky office with a pretty well known fashion photographer who was out of the country. It was very common for Ziggy to get unused invitations or show ducats from his absentee fashionista. Ziggy said "Photog man was messengered an invitation to a cocktail party celebrating Richard Gere's photo book on the Dalai Lama" I said "Sounds great! let's go." Ziggy said "I'll RSVP"
Ziggy called me back and said the RSVP was rejected because we weren't on "The List" I told him to call back as the Photog plus one. I mean, after all who checks ID's at the door? So we did and it worked.
We agreed to meet and have a couple of drinks before the party, as we walked towards the address I noticed the buildings were getting less commercial and more and more swanky. Great! the food and nosh will be first rate! We turned into the entrance of the building and were met by Mr. Clipboard , Ziggy gave him our "names" and we were waved through. We walked past a greeting area and then into a massive wood paneled foyer where maybe 15 or 20 people were drinking and eating passed appetizers. The place was MAG-FUCKING-NIFICENT ! Hollywood shit (think of Billions meets Succession meets Architectural Digest)
I was handed a cocktail and grabbed an appetizer. Before I could get my lips around the Duck liver, Boar bacon, Feta and Date Ramaki The following happened almost simultaneously:
- Ziggy walked up to me and said (sotto voce) into my ear "You idiot, we're in ANNA WINTOUR'S home.
- Two large pocket doors opened to reveal a huge dining room with ornate preparations for a intimate sit down dinner for the 20 or so invited guests. (There were name cards and gifts on every setting)
- I saw Anna Wintour scowling (to be fair and honest I wasn't sure if she was scowling at us or if that was the baseline state of her countenance)
- Two stealth dudes had me by the elbows and took my drink and wrestled my arm away from my mouth as I tried to dispatch that epic Ramaki (not unlike a drug dealer trying to eat the evidence).

The vibe was right. Dark and cloudy with a steady light rain slapping the tin patio roof. Fog was rolling in. I knew what needed to be done. Let’s get weird.
Gulp down a heavy dose of shrooms and sit back for a few while it starts to seep in. Before it gets too heavy I throw on ZII and crank it up to an almost uncomfortable level and strap in for the journey.
Now it’s probably bc I was losing my shit but holy fuck. I’d listened to the album a few times but it was like really hearing it for the first time and it all clicking with what they created.
The atmosphere within was on point with the spook vibe I was itching to tap into. The heavy beating rhythms, the piercing harsh screams, the storytelling. I was feeling waves of almost being overwhelmed and uncomfortable with the heaviness, into a more calm stillness of the cleans. Coupled with looking over the shadows of the garden. Woo boy those zombies were out there. Letting my mind with the help of the shrooms drift into a post apocalyptic kind of daydream. The rain hitting drowning out any surrounding sounds, ZII beating my brain, fog blurring the distance.
10/10 would recommend if you enjoy the occasional escape from reality and want to get into the Halloween spook mood.

I rewatched The Devil Wears Prada. Was it really so bad that Andy changed to suit her new career? As we get older, we adapt and make necessary changes. I understand that she didn’t want to be like Miranda, and that’s great that she knew when to walk away. I think her boyfriend and friends were really hard on her. What are your thoughts?

Ok I know this movie is old news but this has always bothered me. The worst thing Christian did was be flirty with a woman who had a boyfriend. But he didn't actually make a move until Andy was single in Paris. And what did he even do wrong regarding Runway? Have inside knowledge that Miranda was going to be replaced? Miranda, who most people hated or were scared of, including Andy at one point? Andy basically only felt bad for her because of her divorce, before that she despised her and all she put her through.
He knew ahead of time that Miranda would be replaced, that's literally it right? How is that a crime??? The whole "I'm not your baby" line makes me massive eye-roll. What did he do to deserve that attitude?? I love this movie so much but this is my biggest gripe!
I will die on this hill lol. For anyone who wants to discuss an ancient movie - what are your thoughts??

I picked up a preorder of the purple splatter variant of Zombie EP the day it was released and the dead serious site crashed just to be sure I got a copy but have since picked up a copy of the clear/green splatter so want to see if someone here is looking for this one.
