A list of puns related to "Dennis Quaid"
I rewatched it again today after maybe a 14 year gap, but to is still exciting and very fun. The second hour really made this worth seeing again, and parts of the move are a bit slower paced but maybe it's just of my own stress about other things.
The whole future communicating with the past is such a cool idea. this isn't a time travel movie per se, but it is cool seeing the film follow the "change something in the past, it will affect the future" trope. The movie did a great job of having events simultaneously change in the past and present, and how one affected the other directly.
The acting by Dennis and Jim Cavieziel were incredible. You feel them connecting for the first time where both are adults, and it was so nice to see it build and play out only through the radio frequencies. The father/son chemistry worked so well, even though both actors really only shared 2 scenes (e.g. dad saving his son as an old man, and the end baseball game)
John saving his dad was a great part of the movie, and the twist of having his mother dying instead was smart and a bold direction.
The last scene when they were playing ball was sweet, and I guess I can let it slide, that John met his ex-girlfriends again, and now they are con great terms-- married and have a kid of their own, and having Dennis Quaid become a grandfather.
New Line Cinema (a Time Warner Company) had so many great releases back in the 90s, this was one of them!
I remember first viewing this on TBS Superstation and it was one of those films where the opening 5-10 minutes grabs your attention and makes you wanting to invest time into a 2-hour movie. Seen this maybe twice in the mid 2000s as well as Mortal Kombat.
I highly recommend this if you like thrillers, crime/detective/cop stuff, time travel-esque stuff, and great acting and a clever and what I believe to be, an original script/story.
P.S. I'm a nerd and relived my childhood this week by rewatching MK and Frequency after a decade since seeing both.
Im rewatching Flight of the Phoenix tonight and it has me thinking, Dennis Quaid is in consistently not that bad films.
Day After Tomorrow, Flight of the Phoenix, Frequency, The Rookie, The Parent Trap, fuckin Dragon Heart, Yours Mine and Ours, The Alamo, Any Given Sunday
I dont know guys and gals, i think id enjoy hearing the gang tear into these not that great, not that bad, not improved by his presence, not made worse by his presence, films
Especially since we already did Twister and Day After, lets keep this Quaid Train rolling
But thats just me π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ
