##Pashinyan cabinet discussed plans to implement universal healthcare in Armenia
For context read this. Around 61% of Armenians support the idea. 73% are ready to pay 2-6% of their paycheck for UHC. The exact amount of deductions is yet to be determined.
On Monday Pashinyan and ministers discussed the progress towards UHC.
Healthcare Ministry: We examined various models. We need a sustainable financing system that will provide the main healthcare services to all groups.
The package is still being discussed in various agencies. When it's done, a bill will be drafted and submitted. Here is what's being discussed:
Financial sources
Cost-effectiveness
Recipient groups
Quality of services
Ensuring social solidarity & justice
Risks
For UHC to be successful, we need to simultaneously develop the infrastructure, e-healthcare, and strengthen the capacity of primary care facilities. //
Pashinyan: UHC will be an important reform. The primary goal should be disease prevention. Therefore, it's necessary to adopt a model that will ensure quality and cost-effective services. Consult and make the necessary amendments and submit the proposal for final discussion. //

##war on smoking
Starting January 1, shops aren't allowed to publicly display cigarettes. In a few months, there will be a ban on smoking in public areas [cafΓ©s and restaurants]. But there are also tax hikes.
Excise taxes on cigarettes are increasing from $22 to $27 per 1000 units. Despite the hike, cigarettes remain significantly cheaper in Armenia than in Europe.
A similar excise hike went into effect for alcohol.

... keep reading on reddit β‘What even is a dominant party democracy anyway?
If a party just has really good strategists, why does that make them authoritarian?
Every other developed country in the world that has a stable representative democracy have mainstream center-right political parties that are extremely more moderate in comparison to the American Republican Party. Resembling far more the Democratic Party in terms of ideological composition of policy. The Republicans resemble far more fringe, radically far right, reactionary, xenophobicly jingoistic/nationalistic, authoritarian with pensions for plutocracy parties in other countries that are not nearly the size or have the mainstream political heft that the Republicans do.
Why is this the case? Especially for a political party whoβs policy platform when examined in action is not only incredibly unpopular, terrible at actual day to day governance, and do little else but funnel or redistribute mountains of money to the already radically wealthy and large big businesses that do not need the aid as they are already mostly oligopolies while simultaneously stripping any and all little social protections, decently equitable labor laws, and social safety net provisions, that actually aid the average non-really wealthy majority population. Not to mention the incredibly repressive/authoritarian social policies that actively narrow and restrict the sphere of meaningful liberty of participating in mainstream society on some kind of even playing field, not relegated to defacto second class citizenship status of what amounts to American apartheid for everyone that isnβt an incredibly rich, white, heterosexual Christian man.
Basically the title. Im looking for arguments as to how it is just as democratic as a multi-party system and/or how it is superior to a multi-party system, in the context of socialism. I plan to use these arguments myself for an extensive essay.
Even after Jan. 6, these people are in absolute denial about it.
Why are Democrats and Black Lives Matter being blamed for all riots, but Trump isn't blamed for the disgusting torture freakshow at the US Capitol?
The Leaders of this Republican Party are all blaming everyone else for "stealing" the election from Trump and seizing control America's voting systems so they can force themselves into power against your consent.
Why are all Republicans and QAnon so devoted to that disgusting freak Trump and this demented Republican Party?
If Obama was murdering and beating people for fun to steal everyone's right to vote, I'd be urging everyone to vote against the dude. If Hilary Clinton was demanding they change the laws to make her president forever, I feel like that would get their attention.
Trump had people tortured on Jan. 6. He set his QAnon like attack dogs on Congress to devour them.
The Republican Party is spiraling in infinite madness and attacking all our Institutions to profit off our suffering.
They are tearing America apart, burning us alive with their decades of climate change, bankrupting us with their insane tax cuts to the rich.
This political party causes disasters deliberately so it can blame the "fake news" for the negative coverage and groom their alternative facts.
It is a cult of insanity.
The GOP is fueling anti-vaccination conspiracies so they can blame it on the "Demon-crats" and "Hilary Clinton's emails" and Biden anitfah bullshit.
Hundreds of thousands are dying, millions are getting injured, all of us are suffering the economic disasters resulting from hundreds of thousands of Republican followers refusing to get vaccinated.
They are grooming insanity.
This political party has no climate change plan, but they have time to ratfuck US elections and tear up our climate change plans and filibuster child care investment.
They are just raking in cash and causing disasters and doing nothing positive.
Freedom of speech is not an infinite right to groom people everyday with constant lies and insanity into a freak cult.
How is it Republicans can look at Trump and Jan. 6 and are still voting for this this thing and attacking everyone else?
This political party doesn't have the right to groom people to block out reality and live in their fantasy world.
They are sadistically assaulting and stunting and shaping the minds of Americans to create an infinitely loyal mob base that will always vote for them and hate their enemies.
... keep reading on reddit β‘Edit: I am from Germany. This generally means that most parties do not disregard any human rights and you are not going to change my mind by telling me how horrible a certain American party is.
Most of the western world lives in a democracy and one of its basic principles is pluralism. Pluralism encourages the support of a variety of opinions and viewpoints and is arguably one of the most important parts of democracy.
In recent times, I've seen many people fixated on one thing and they then claim everyone supporting a certain viewpoint is wrong/immoral. This concept of trying to erase other opinions, regardless how moral or immoral one regards them to be inherently contradicts the basis of democracy and therefore people who do this and yet claim to be democratic are hypocrits.
Don't get me wrong, everyone is allowed to disagree with opinions and even publicly arguing against them, but 'cancelling' people over viewpoints or things they said has no part in a democratic system.
I don't necessarily think that this is wrong but everytime I voice this I get downvoted so there seems to be a flaw in my logic. I'm always open to change if someone can convince me :)
Edit: I am solely talking about viewpoints that are within the democratic system. This means issues like racism, genocide or any other form of discrimination are not included.
Last Edit: I'm off to bed now and I want to clarify a few things. I worded this post poorly. The reason for the post was that I think it's stupid to cut off people/ disregard people's opinions if they do not need to be divisive. Sure you can condemn a racist, but you shouldn't condemn someone who thinks climate change can be better solved by something else you think.
That being said, my view has changed insofar that everyone is entitled to have boundaries so it isn't really hypocritical but can just as much work as a defense mechanism. I also shouldn't use democracy and constituition interchangably which I sort of did here.
I'll try to be more precise next time since people couldn't really change my mind as I worded the cmv incorrectly.
I can't help now but mentally autocorrect people saying things like, "protect our Democracy," or "our Democracy was in jeopardy."
I mentally replace "Democracy" to "the Democrat party rule." It tends to be a lot more accurate to what they are saying.
Especially since we are a federal constitutional republic...
