A list of puns related to "Deep Deuce"
Is this place a good place to live? I've been looking at it a lot and have a tour today and was planning to sign because of the location.
Edit: found a better place at Midtown Renaissance for slightly cheaper and much better reviews. In slightly better location as well.
Any information on how many folks are without power?
We live somewhat near the Deep Deuce area and we got an email saying police officers will double in the area due to suspicious activity. Does anyone know that lives in the area what exactly the suspicious activity is? Seems kind of odd during this whole quarantine thing, but who am I kidding, nothing is odd anymore in 2020...
Hello people of OKC! I drove down to check out your city last week and was very impressed. I'm moving there in May to work at Tinker AFB and was trying to get a feel for various areas to find where I might want to live. I'm pretty well split between two places, Deep Deuce and Liberty Point. I should note, I need enough space for an office and desk, so I'm mostly looking at two bedrooms or places with an office space.
I should note, I looked into places near Broadway, I REALLY like that area too. The problem is, the area I would want to live in (likely Midtown in between 13th and 10th street), would either be out of my budget, be too small, or too far away from the fun area to walk to. If I'm going to pay more than $1000 a month to be near entertainment, I want to be able to walk there most of the time.
I like Liberty Point because they're VERY nice and spacious for the money, and it's extremely close to work. I'd be able to get a two bedroom for around $950, saving a lot of cash. They have awesome amenities and there's a pretty nice shopping center 5min up the road. I know people say to avoid living around the base, but these apartments are on the south side of the base (the north side seems to be the bad area), they're gated, and they're pretty far from the bad area. The only problem with this place is, it doesn't seem like there's anything near by except the big chain stores. I don't want to be a hermit, but I don't want to have to drive 20min for entertainment every time I feel like getting out of the apartment.
I definitely like Deep Deuce the most for their their proximity to all the entertainment, and the apartments are nice inside too. To get into Deep Deuce, I would be at the tippy top of my rent budget at $1250, and I would need to be very strict with the rest of my budget. In fact, I would likely need to save for a few months to buy a single large piece of furniture if I were to live down there, and I would only be able to go out and do something maybe once a week if even that. My apartment would be pretty bare for a while. After thinking it over, and checking google maps, it seems like a lot of the fun of being down there would involve drinking, which I'm not a huge partaker of at all. So I'm kind of wondering what all there is to do besides drink and whether or not it would be worth it. I'm 30 and I've always dreamed of having a cool apartment with all kinds of stuff to do new my doorstep. For the first time in my life I'll be making

Regretfully I have found this to be quite common with events listed on travelok.com, they quite commonly have little to no info and are sometimes non existent.
It seemed to happen abruptly earlier this week. I heard it was due to some "mechanical error" but I suspect other things may have been happening behind the scenes. Anyone have any ideas? This was one of my favorite spots to eat in the Deep Deuce and Downtown in general. The Thunder Burger there will always have my heart. It was also a great spot to catch great live music on the patio any given night. I'll be missing it for sure!
I'm moving up there soon (probably) from Norman, and I'm leaning toward midtown. I'm almost out of my 20s, young professional, but I'm not super into the bar scene. I'm looking for a strong community vibe. Which neighborhood do you recommend? There seems like an obvious answer, but I'm wondering if anyone living in the area might have insight that would complicate the obvious.
Thanks!
Hello, people of OKC!
I'm moving to your city from Colorado Springs in a few weeks. I'm in the process of setting up a living arrangement at the Deep Deuce at Bricktown apartments. I was wondering if any of you have any experience with this place/area, and could let me know what I'm in for. I'd like to know how long their lease agreements are; the person I spoke with mentioned that they encourage 18-month leases but I'm not sure if people can go for the typical 12-months. Thanks for any help!
I've been trying to get my hands on this EP for years. Coheed sold it during a Warped Tour run and I cannot find it on the internet. I was hoping someone here had it and could set me up with it. I made a reddit mostly for this so I'm hoping someone can help me!

Some years it feels like an accomplishment just to make it to the end of the year, and 2021 certainly feels that way. It was a year defined by choices: masked vs. unmasked, vaxxed vs. unvaxxed, return to church vs. worship at home. With so many clamoring voices, it can be hard to know what's best, which is why we always default to the tried and true: no, not the still small voice. We are referring, of course, to loud laughter and evil speaking of the Lord's anointed. It's never let us down yet, which is why we're eager to jump right into . . .

After banning the word "Mormon", cutting church to 2 hours, modernizing the missionary dress code, and cozying up to other religions, church leaders look forward to taking TSCC even more mainstream in 2021 . . . only to turn on the news six days into the new year and see Captain Moroni waving the Title of Liberty at an illegal attempt to overturn a democratic election and overthrow the U.S. government. Although the Book of Mormon Captain Moroni was very much in favor of democratic elections and defending the sitting government against a group who wanted to overthrow it, Pres. Newsroom explained that today's Captain Moroni -- like the church itself -- had regrettably grown much more hardline conservative and quite a bit kookier in his old age.
Originally enthralled with the idea of God choosing a doctor to lead them during a pandemic, TBMs quickly turn on Dr. Prophet Nelson after he releases a photo of himself receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. TBMs attack Nelson's photo op in online forums, accusing him of falling for the lies of the deep state, and worrying that Bill Gates could now follow Nelson through a secret microchip. However, independent observers rated this last fear as "Highly Unlikely" after Bill Gates himself said he'd rather use Windows ME as his operating system for life rather than follow the prophet in any sense of the word.

When Iโm not in calls, I listen to music, itโs pretty much that simple. I decided to pick ten-year intervals to keep it somewhat diverse. Last year, I didnโt keep great notes so I changed things up and this year and tracked my music listening. My current count is 1131 albums in 2021, of which around 1100 were rap related. This can be broken down further to 2 albums from 1981, 88 from 1991, 144 albums from 2001, 259 albums from 2011 and 435 rap projects in 2021. Not included are repeat listens to albums and a few hundred loosies.
Of course part of this post is self-congratulatory back patting, I wonโt lie. Another, and more important, part is hopefully helping other people find great music. A few basic rules:
This is part 1. I had to break up the lists, otherwise the post would become too unwieldy. Part 2 will contain 2001, 2011 and 2021.
1981
Only the second year of recorded rap music and I only listened to 2 projects (Kurtis Blow โDeuceโ and The Sugar Hill Gang โ8th Wonderโ). I might be missing a few releases That said, there definitely were a few songs worth listening to, most notably. I might be forgetting a few, but a good introduction to the year would definitely be:
As a year in rap, it was definitely dominated by Silvia Robinsonโs โSugar Hill Recordsโ. Rap songs were few and far in between. The genre was singles-oriented at this point in time (and Iโd argue up until 1988 with Public Enemyโs โIt Takes A Nationโ) so only Kurtis Blowโs โDo The Doโ was part of an album.

We were crouched within the last patches of long yellowing grass, staring at potential elimination. Before us the land sloped gently down to reveal a patchwork of muddy square pits, stained yellows and greens, inhospitable to all life, and divided by dilapidated roads overgrown with coarse weeds. Far to our right opened the maw of an enormous quarry. I couldnโt see its bottom from here, and I had no intention of getting close enough to do so.
We had to cross those pits, and there was no cover to speak of.
Markus waved a hand in the direction of the coloured fields. โSee, this is my problem with you humans. You complain about how we destroyed the world but look at what your kind was doing before we got here.โ
โIronically, this was their attempt to repair the damage theyโd caused,โ Toll added. โA lithium mine, used primarily to produce batteries, to help fuel the transition away from destructive fossil fuels.โ Their feathers puffed. โEven with such destruction, however, they could not achieve such a simple goal.โ
โThereโs no need to be so harsh on them,โ Enzi chimed in. โHuman perception is tainted by such confusing emotions. They only wish to live comfortably and are unable to perceive the destruction they wrought because it does not lay before their eyes. Itโs not something they can control.โ
โAnd thatโs a great opportunity for us demons,โ Volce said, grinning. โThose pesky wants and needs make them easy toโer.โ He peeked at me with his mouth frozen in a smile, and I glared back with narrowed eyes. โTheyโre great for pairing with, is what I should say.โ
I huffed, acting like I was offended. There were plenty of humans who were, but I never thought like that. Having lived around demons my whole life, Iโd grown ambivalent to their ways. If anything, they were hypocritical. Each of their criticisms of humans could be applied back to them tenfold. They were just convinced that their actions were justified because they could follow the logic th

Inside a certain L.A. bachelor pad, nothing is happening. That's because Bret Michaels isn't home. He's on tour, terrorizing -- or, as it were, "rocking his way across" -- America. Remember "Hands Across America?" It's like that, but with genitals. Hey! And there's the man himself! Judging by the amount of pancake and eyeliner that Bret is sporting, this season is sponsored by Mary Kay. Bret says that after two seasons of coming up empty-handed in his quest to find his one true rock of love, he started to wonder what the hell he was doing wrong. Oh, Bret. How much time do you have? And then it hit him, like the brass knuckles in the kisser we've all longed for. He spends 300 days of the year on the road rocking, rolling, and partying. You can verify this if you look at the entertainment schedule of a minor casino near you! There's nothing like watching dog races to the tune of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." So, this time, Bret's taking the show on the road. And you know, I remember reading an interview with Bret a while back where he said that he wanted to do a show that depicted what life on tour was really like. VH1 execs obviously replied, "Sold, if we can throw in a score of skanks." And lo, it came to pass. Only one girl can be Bret's rock of love... three.
And wait! This season is replete with a new theme song! "Please let me introduce myself / I'm gonna get you off like there's no one else / Please let me be your flesh and blood / Your dirty secret / Your rock of love / Rock of love." I don't know. It has none of the je ne sais quoi of "Touch my backstage pass."
Without further ado we're in Louisville, Kentucky, at Coyote's Bar. A vaguely southern blonde with a shiny face and giant knockers tells us that if somebody messes with her, they're in for it, and she's going to win Bret's heart. Then there's a pretty girl with dimple piercings who says she's cool and fun and everything a guy would want, and it's okay if she's "a little bit not too smart." Another blonde with giant knockers says that she's been grooving on Bret since the fourth grade, and also is into bondage. A somewhat more mature and normalish looking brunette wonders what the blonde bimbo hell she's walked into. I hope she's up to date on all of her vaccinations. She can smell the tension burning. Um, that's not tension. She says that the whole situation is a pressure cooker waiting to blow. Um, that's not a pressure cooker.
Meanwhile, Bret tells us how

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

We were walking again. It seemed to be all I ever did in this forsaken tournament. Walk, and not die. From digressers, and from demons as they tried to talk me to death. Fortunately, there was only one demon talking. Unfortunately, Volce was the noisiest demon Iโd ever met.
โWhich is why pairing is best done after a downing a fifth of vodka. However, if you drink too much vodka, you can get whopping headaches andโโ
โI canโt drink vodka,โ I lied.
Volce hovered up beside my head and cocked an eyebrow. โWhat? Well then, youโll have to go for a pint of absinth, but I really donโt recommend that. Last time a human tried that they ended up in the hospital getting their stomach pumped by a hepheseth.โ
โNo, that sounds like a great idea. Get so blind drunk in the middle of the Culling that I canโt walk propโโ
As if the administrators were mocking me, I tripped. I didnโt see a digresser furrow and my foot got trapped in it. I landed awkwardly in a bush, which also had a nice gap through its middle where another digresser had carved through.
Volce cackled maniacally. He slapped his knees, pointed at me, made some weird honking noise as he mocked me. Gritting teeth, I shoved myself up and dusted my pants off. Volce got right in my face and laughed, slowly enunciating each ha so as to be as obnoxious as possible.
I took a swipe at Volce and he dodged easily. As long as I wasnโt using his power, he was too nimble to strike. He seemed to know that and floated around me as if to tempt me, his red face exuding a smug grin.
โBe careful, human,โ Volce mocked. โYou might trip and break one of your fragile little legs.โ He shrugged. โOf course, if you paired with me that would be really unlikely.โ
Though I had my suspicions that heโd caused me to trip, there was nothing I could do about it. I mean, tripping over could be caused by bad luck, and Volceโs luck was apparently strong enough of a power to compete with a one name. That was by his own admission,

Having found a new creative outlet to inflict my music taste on the world in my previous post, hereโs part 2 of my end-of-the-year wrap-up, featuring 2001. Iโm yet again splitting a post, Reddit isnโt very kind to longer posts (Iโm getting crazy lag while formatting these monsters of posts). Iโve listened to almost 2000 songs off 144 rap albums and a few hundred loosies, remixes, demos, or live tracks.
2001 is where things will get tricky for the first time. The closer we get to modern times, the more listeners on Reddit will have diverging music tastes. I think itโs still fairly easy to find some consensus of what constitutes โgoodโ rap in 1991 (and thatโs especially so for 1981), thatโs not going to be as easy for 2001. By 2001, the rap scene was thoroughly split: there were thriving underground and regional scenes. Iโve attempted to listen to all notable releases from the year, across these borders of subgenres.
Iโm fairly certain Iโll get called out for omitting album x or song y by artist z, which is fine by me. Itโs business never personal. My aim is to provide you with new rap suggestions and to provide an overview of rap songs. With that in mind, letโs jump into 2001.
AotY candidates
My best rap albums list of 2001 is heavily dominated by Southern rappers. At this point in time, there was still a lot of great rap music coming out the East Coast, though not always necessarily through great albums. Beanie Sigel and Cormega are the only two East Coast representatives, and especially Cormegaโs album still manages to captivate audiences after 20 years. On the West Coast, it was slim pickings, but Mac Mallโs Immaculate and to a lesser extent Mack 10โs Bang Or Ball were both excellent efforts.
Down South, 2001 was right in the golden age of New Orleans rap music, with artists from Birdmanโs Cash Money label (Juvenile and even Mack 10, a West Coas

I love this part of the book where we continue to look deeper into the social setting of this time between the 19th and 20th centuries and continue to follow the key American characters of the novel. My goal in a summary is to pare things down to a bare-bones plot summary. The rich description, the comic and tragic, the artful thoughts that delve into every facet of life and history are set aside in order to see the core action of the story. This is helpful to my mind for overview, to see large patterns and to aid memory.
