The Big Lebowski himself has passed away at 85 years old.

Did anyone else notice the choice of music for the final segment (CHORP/newspaper segment), was Mozart's Requiem in D Minor, the same music that plays during David Huddleston's scene from The Big Lebowski.
As many of you may have heard, Mr Huddleston passed away on August 2nd.
It could be pure coincidence of course, but I really want to believe some staffer on Oliver's team threw this in as a nod to a great actor.

The origin story of All-American Santa^TM
A clearly American toymaker inexplicably living in medieval Lapland is abducted by elves, and made to spend an eternity delivering the toys they make on Christmas Eve. All goes well after Burgess Meredith tells him he's the Chosen One, and Claus settles into the role. However, centuries of tradition (as depicted through cheap montage) nearly unravels due to the effects of unchecked 1980s neoliberal capitalism.
Starring David Huddleston as Santa Claus, Dudley Moore as Patch the ambitious elf, and John Lithgow chewing apart every scene he's in like a man starving to death. Featuring Judy Cornwell as Mrs. Claus, a couple of kids who never worked again as a wisecrackin' street urchin and a poor little rich girl, truly delightful costume, set, and prop design for Santa's workshop, slightly Uncanny Valley puppets of glitter-eating reindeer, and of course, loving tributes to McDonald's and Coca-Cola.
If you choose to see one movie this Christmas, well, this one certainly exists, and wasn't a detail misremembered from your childhood.

- Eternals
The bottom of the barrel. The worst of the worst. I know that there are fans of this film out there, some who say itโs there absolute favourite. And all I can say to that isโฆ Youโre wrong. There are some interesting things but really it all falls pretty flat. The plot is super contrived and doesnโt really go anywhere interesting, the final battle is resolved super quickly, the unfathomable romance between two people with no chemistry, and the most pointless sex scene in all of cinema. They hyped it up like it was this huge important thing like thereโs never been sex in a movie before and then it was the most tepid vanilla conjugation put to film Iโve ever seen. They were so boring my god. And the whole plot with big alien and whatever. And of course hot guy was evil like duhhh. And it was great when Jon snow was in the movie as a glorified cameo. Good thing he was important to the plot at all. The biggest shame of all is that the most interesting characters had the least screen time in the film. Druig, makkari and thena, Gilgamesh had way more chemistry than the leads but instead we had to watch the 2 human embodiments of milk toast stumble around the entire time. I will say the time skipping elements were fun but I just think Shang chi did it in a much more meaningful and impactful way. I just think with how much was going on this whole story would have worked better as a tv road show. Where they have to find all the eternals and each episode focuses on the back story of a specific eternal and time frame revealing plot points slowly over the course of the season until the big finale. I also donโt think it is helped by how much hype was around the film given how the director had just won Oscar for best picture so I was really hoping for something different. It feels like all the differences are surface level without any thought towards the impact on the actual plot and the like. Like most of the films and shows in the latter half there are some good things that could really work but just donโt. This film is the biggest disappointment of the year. Unlike every other entry on the list I canโt see myself watching this one again. And that is the biggest tragedy. But it has Harry styles never mind itโs a masterpiece. 2/10 for the movie 11/10 for Harry styles
