Hi! So my grandpa has a fairly large collection of nascar diecasts mostly from the 90s, and he’s moving, and unfortunately cannot take his collection with him. He asked me to sell them and I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in buying, or could help me out on value of certain ones and where to sell, thanks!

One of the last good guys in the sport. Dave is a really good guy and I think we need more people like him in NASCAR today.

IMO should be in the Hall Of Fame but hopefully, his day is coming. Great guy to meet and talk to.

Everyone knows about NASCAR's boom in the 1990s, but to Bruton Smith, things were booming a bit too much. While NASCAR is synonymous with controversial decisions in recent times, Smith had some... unique ideas to continue growing the sport.

On January 13, 1998, during the NASCAR Media Tour, Smith declared it was "inevitable" that for Cup Series break up for NASCAR's own good. Yeah, about that...

The proclamation, while ridiculous, wasn't completely out of the blue in an attempt to drum up hype. He had been brewing the idea for a few years, and figures in NASCAR including Bill France Jr. were well aware about his proposal.

1994–1997: What's Bruton Up To This Time?

Whenever any racing series leadership is clashing with teams, it is almost a certainty that rumors circulate about said teams breaking away to form their own series. After all, we've seen it happen before with open-wheel racing via the IRL/CART split and the multiple threats in F1. Heck, there have even been suggestions of Smith's Speedway Motorsports splitting off from NASCAR to create a stock car series themselves.

In 1994, Smith first raised the concept of dividing the Winston Cup Series, but not with nefarious intent. Rather, it was supposedly his way of taking NASCAR to greater heights.

With so many tracks being built throughout the United States at the time to accommodate the rising national popularity, including Smith's own Texas Motor Speedway, NASCAR expanded its schedule from 31 races to 32 in 1998. However, France and Smith knew that they could only add so many races at a time, and taking dates from existing venues comes with risks. Some tracks wanted second dates, which only exacerbated the predicament. The possibility of weeknight races was raised to fill the gap, which we would not see intentionally until the temporary race days created in 2020 due to COVID-19, and even that had issues like lower viewership. Smith figured that rather than eliminate dates, why not go in the opposite direction and have twice as many?^[1]

The blueprint was simple: split the Cup Series into two divisions, either geographically with East and West similar to ARCA today (or Busch North and Winston West back then), or American and National akin to the NFL and MLB. • 90. Frank Mundy - 99.1 - One of the founding fathers of Nascar as he was in the room of the streamline motel, he was a part of the early beginnings until a fall out with Bill France which led him to join rival stock car racing series. One of the more intriguing things I've learned about Frank is that he once qualified in the pole of the Southern 500, and finished a whopping 82nd.
• 89. Danny Letner - 99.5 - Another West Coast driver participating in the west coast swing, he participated in the Nascar Pacific Coast Late Model Series as well as the Grand National Series. With the clash coming up, he most notably won a race inside Oakland Stadium in 1954. In 2002, Letner was inducted into the first class of the West Coast Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame.
• 88. Gwyn Staley - 101.9 - Gwyn is famous for being the first ever winner at Hickory Motor Speedway. His career was cut short after an accident in the Nascar Convertible Division in 1958 at just 30 years old.
• 87. Billy Wade - 103.3 - Billy was the 1963 Nascar rookie of the year for owner Cotton Owens. He drove for just 3 years but accumulated 41 top tens over a partial schedule. He was killed at Daytona International Speedway in 1965 performing a tire-test. Another what could have been on the list as Billy had an outstanding career ahead of him.
• 86. Ray Elder - 104.41 - Ray was a California kid that participated in the Nascar west coast swing, as well as the Nascar Pacific Coast Late Model Series, where he won 47 races which ranks 2nd of all time. Ray also raced in the Nascar Western Series, in which he won 6 championships, mostly in the 70s.
• 85. Al Keller - 104.43 - There were a few drivers that I've noticed left Nascar in the mid-50's to join AAA and USAC competitions, and Keller is one of them. Prior to that, Keller held his own at Nascar events. Keller was the first driver in the series to win a race with a foreign car a Jaguar at Linden Airport in New Jersey. Keller was finally get a hang of the champ cars when he was killed in a crash in Arizona in 1961, the same year he finished 5th in the Indy 500.
• 84. Darel Dieringer - 106.7 - *A true journeymen, he raced for every owner you could think of in the 60's. He would get one off rides with anyone that had it and just about put together a full-season. He is a Southern 500 winn

She's best known for sponsoring Dave Marcis for a while in the 1980s.

About the only info I can find about her is that she owned some retail stores in the Midwest and/or Arizona. Wiki says she was Phil Barkdoll's mother-in-law, but I've seen that nowhere else.

So has anyone heard of Fillmore because I've got a reboot idea for the show including putting several other Disney shows in it as a shared universe, inculding The Owl House and Amphibia as well as some other Disney shows which includes Star Vs The Forces of Evil.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

One of the biggest issues with a First Boots season is that it may be unfair to people who narrowly avoided being eliminated first.

Using a notable example, the concept of a First Boots season would penalize April and Sarah for beating Dessie and Kayla to the mat since the Goat Yoga Moms wouldn't be considered for the second chance season. Admittedly, I do think Team MitchFitz were more interesting than April/Sarah, but that's a different topic.

Since I've already run down the possibility of First Boots, none of them will be mentioned here. So, this is looking at 2nd boots through 7th place.

There are several early boots that I would still like to give a second chance to. I will consider 7th or lower to be early since 6th place teams usually compete in over half the season.

1. Maybe Pat/Brenda and Paul/Amie? Kim/Leslie bickered with a cab driver, and Margaretta is deceased.
2. Shola/Doyin. Hope/Norm are forgettable, Peggy/Claire were hilariously bad and are in their 80s, and Cindi/Russell would feel weird on this.
3. Tramel/Talicia (Best 2nd boots ever) Michael/Kathy, and maybe Heather/Eve or Aaron/Arianne
4. Not really any. Amanda/Chris were not super interesting, Russell/Cindy have no chance since Russell isolated himself from production and they haven't spoken once since, Steve Cottingham is 67, and Steve/Dave weren't super competitive the first time.
5. Not really anyone. Alison/Donny are broken up, Jim is 71, Bob/Joyce are in their 70s, and Marshall/Lance weren't that good of racers.
6. Lena/Kristy (Absolutely). Meredith/Maria were hilariously bad, Don/Mary Jean are in their 80s now, and Gus is 67.
7. Debbie/Bianca (Absolutely) Megan/Heidi weren't that good of racers, Susan is now 71, and Ray/Deana are now divorced.
8. Any two of the Aiello sons-in-law.
9. Dave/Lori would be cool and are still viable. Lisa/Joni were hilariously bad, I believe age could be a concern for Wanda, and there's no way would I want to see Dani/Danielle again considering Danielle already got a 2nd chance>! (And won)!<
10. Vipul/Arti and maybe Kellie/Jamie and Duke/Lauren? (If age isn't a concern. I don't know Duke's age.) Tom/Terry weren't super interesting and Peter was kind of a tool.
11. N/A (Returnee season)
12. Maybe Shana/Jennifer? Kate/Pat are too old, Marianna/Julia weren't that interesting, and Lorena/Jason are broken up.
13. Mark/Bill (If they're still up for it. Mark is 55 and IDK how old Bill although I do know

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

Excuse me but I've got an idea on how I'd reboot Fillmore

STORY STRUCTURE

The story structure for the Fillmore reboot would have parallels but cleverly smartly parody cop shows, most notably cop shows of today like CBS’s Blue Bloods, NBC’s Chicago PD, and ABC’s The Rookie (and not the baseball Disney movie of the same name); however, it would also take inspiration from action films like John Woo’s Hard Boiled, and because of magic being in Fillmore and his friend could also go on exciting adventures outside of school as a Story Arc. Some plots would be ripped from the headlines and it would also tackle as well more serious issues with policing (police brutality, justice reform, etc)

Also in the reboot there would be a massive shootout once or twice per episode inspired by John Woo’s Hard Boiled shootouts. (with both sides using laser blasters and Airsoft as opposed to real guns after all it is a Disney show.) There will also be chase scenes as well (and sometimes a combination of the two)

Also, some seasons would have a 9-13 episode story arc and a central Big Bad in each of those arcs and a TV movie saga based on Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga.

HOW LONG THE SERIES WOULD LAST

It would last around 3 seasons with more should the fans want more with each season being 26 episodes each

DISTRIBUTION

It would be a Disney+ exclusive and only shown in the US and US allied countries. China will have no export.

CROSSOVERS WITH OTHER DISNEY SHOWS

The shows that Fillmore would crossover with would be Wander Over Yonder, Milo Murphy’s Law, Phineas and Ferb, The 7D, Star Vs The Forces of Evil, Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series, The Owl House, Big City Greens Lilo & Stitch, Amphibia, Gravity Falls, Teamo Supremo, The Ghost and Molly McGee, Future-Worm and DuckTales (2017) as a shared universe (Think of the MCU). Elements from other Disney properties (Like K.C Undercover’s The Other Side) would be used as well.

THE RATING

The rating would be in the TV-Y7 FV range, with lots of Airsoft/blaster gunfights and instances of brutality of students inflicted by Safety Patrollers, especially by Sasha. Language would be limited to insults (like grop, florp, etc)

THE ART STYLE

I would go for a blend of Amphibia and Ducktales 2017 art and animation style for all characters.
