Hello, so my old college buddy chatted me out of the blue and she disclosed that she's at the point of having suicidal thoughts and an inch close from losing it.
Quick background without being intrusive about her, she came from a family that stink-eyes shrinks or mental problems. Way back in college(she stopped attending Uni and wasn't able to graduate bc of this issue) she had already divulged this matter to me and after she stopped attending classes, she had gone incognito--save this year when we've had our few non-sensical chats.
Im really worried about her... I already asked some med friends regarding their psychiatrists and had some few contact numbers (all from UST hospital). But I guess it's better to crowdsource some intels especially with those good "reviews" and for an optimal catharsis that might suit her.
She resides in Dasmariñas, Cavite but she's also comfortable travelling as far as Manila or Parañaque. She hasn't had any prior consultation or check-up regarding her mental health. I hope this post can help. Thank you, everyone!

Hi, I am planning to go to UPLB by commute since I don't own any vehicle.
Background: My (47M) grandparents settled in NY via Ellis Island and my wife's (40F) sister and aunt are out there, too. California's getting too expensive, too hot, and too smoky! We're definitely cooler-climate people and just can't seem to save any money out here with the high/rising costs of living. Rochester checks most of our boxes for climate, geography, and costs of housing, and moving there would get us closer to our families. Are there any other ex-Californians in the sub who can share their experiences in looking for a new home in Rochester, and how their lives have changed since moving? What do you love about Rochester that you didn't have in California? Anything you miss?
We're also wondering if there are preferred areas for families with young kids (ours is 4 and really needs friends now more than ever), places with desirable utility companies (municipal or co-op water/electrical/gas preferred, and multiple options for reliable cable/fiber internet that's not spectrum)
