Venkatesh Maha started his journey in movies as a spot boy with the ambition to make his own movies. Over the next few years he played bit parts of "tea vendor" and "friend" in a couple of movies. During a visit to a friend in his locality of Kancharapalem, Maha heard some interesting stories from the locals and started observing them closely. That was the genesis of the idea of the movie. Praveena Paruchuri was a NY based cardiologist with a passion for movies. She had written a story and wanted to direct it in her childhood city of Hyderabad. She reached out to multiple people in the Telugu film industry and eventually got connected with director Aparna Malladi. Praveena decided to fly to Hyderabad and meet up with Aparna and learn the basics of movie making. She ran into Maha on the day of her meet with Aparna and heard his story idea. She was bowled over by his story and immediately gave him INR 3,000 as a signing amount to produce his directorial debut. That is how the idea started becoming a movie.
Maha’s story was an anthology of 4 love stories spanning multiple generations set in the locality of Kancharapalem which transcended age, religion, caste and class system. Almost all of the cast of the movie (Except 1) are actual Kancharapalem citizens and not professional actors just like the movie's producer and writer director.
