A list of puns related to "Cutler Beckett"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2PrqDLOaDM - It goes on in this video. What was he asking questions about? Later on, he implies he stabbed Davy Jones' heart when he is dead and talking to Elizabeth. Why didn't he become the new Captain of the Dutchman, if he stabbed it?
One time while scrolling through the internet, I saw a video of the Endeavor being destroyed in At Worlds End, but with a piano piece over the audio. I canβt seem to find it anywhere, and was wondering if anyone in here would know how to get it?
Could someone please explain to me the meaning of βcutlerβ. Is this a rank among the EITC in which mr. Beckett then ranks up too the moniker of βlordβ or is βcutlerβ simply his true first name. I am very interested in hearing the proper order of ranking between the following
As you can see I am very interested and unfamiliar with the terms commodore, cutler, admiral and lord. I am eager to hear an explanation of each title and how they relate to each other, thank you.
what intrigues me in this scene, is that even if Beckett was too shocked to speak, Groves (who was second in command) could have and should have ordered the crew to open fire. but no, he remained silent until the final moments.
At the end of At World's End, Lord Cutler Beckett, his massive ship the Endeavor and his armada face off against the pirates. After the Dutchman goes down, Captain Jack Sparrow and the Black Pearl charge Beckett. The Dutchman rises from the sea, and both ships charge the Endeavor. Beckett certainly had the firepower to take on both ships, as they straddled his broadsides, but Beckett gave no orders, muttering "Its just good business". He was killed by this. Why did he give no order? Why does he say that?
TL;DR is title
In the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the villain Cutler Beckett says he and Jack Sparrow both left their marks on each other. We know the mark Beckett gave Jack was a branded P for piracy, the same P Norrington uses to identify Jack as a pirate in the first film. But what mark did Jack give Beckett? Was it physical or mental? Any ideas?
DMC did a great job of showing what a big, terrible threat the Kraken is and how you're lucky if you can escape. Then in AWE we learn it was killed off screen and we see it's dead body on the beach. I remember being pretty disappointed in that when I first saw the movie in theatres. I'm still a little annoyed thinking about it!
I'm also not sure why Cutler Beckett would order the Kraken to be killed? At this point he controls Davy Jones and Jones controls the Kraken. If his goal is to wipe out all the Pirates surely having the Kraken would help him in that goal. The only reason I can think of is that if Jones was freed he'd be able to turn the Kraken back against Beckett in revenge.
I'm guessing AWE was getting too long in it's run time and including the Kraken would've made it even longer. Still, it's a pretty disappointing end for such an iconic creature of the deep!
Based off a recreation that I'm reasonably certain matches the original prop closely, I've transcribed the text on the Letters of Marque from Dead Man's Chest.
From what I can tell, sections of text on the prop were repeated several times - probably to fill up space on the parchment, as it wasnβt meant to be viewed up close. Iβve cut it down (heavily) and fixed it up for readability purposes.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
Pilot on me!!

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
what I don't understand in this scene, is that even if Beckett was too shocked to speak, Groves (who was second in command) could have and should have ordered the crew to open fire. but no, he remained silent until the final moments.
