CROWDSOURCING: The Cultural Center of the Philippines is looking for photo contributions.
I'm from the CCP and we are currently working on the Encyclopedia of Philippine Art. We are looking for photos to supplement our essays. Do any of you have photos (or know someone who has photos) of indigenous people, any of our performing arts, and/or tangible art such as architecture that you'll be willing to give the project?
Unfortunately, the success of our project relies enormously on the kindness of artists and photographers. As much as we would like to compensate photographers accordingly (which I personally think is only rightful), the over-all budget of the project can only pay up to 200-300 per photo. We are simultaneously working on twelve volumes encompassing all Philippine Arts. Thus, the enormity of the project has budget constraints.
The least we could do is to cite you as source for the photo. We're hoping that it serves as consolation that you will have contribution to a project that preserves and promotes Philippine culture and heritage. We've already contacted people with Flickr accounts and blogs, used photos under public domain, and contacted publishers. But some of them asks for 3k per photo and we can't afford it.
Here's a sample letter of request from a photographer, alongside with some of the details of the project. If you have photos you'll be willing to contribute, kindly so send me a PM.
