I don't remember what episode of the art it was on but I remember Desus saying they were doing a spot on Crank Yankers, now was he fucking with us or is this a real thing?
I do not support hating people for any particular reason (race, gender, etc). But removing Special Ed to appease “PC” culture is just bad. This shows key figure was on my opinion. Special Ed, his crank calls were perfect. A kid with need who would insult someone but at the same time the pranked person wouldn’t dare to say anything bad because they didn’t want to insult him. This gave Ed the golden key to be as rude as he wanted and the person took it. Also excluding Ed sends the wrong message. The message that not everyone deserves the same platform. Never did I see a moment in the original Crank Yankers that Ed was being made fun of for having disabilities. In fact he always had the edge to make fun of others and egg people into uncomfortable conversations.
It was a show on Comedy Central in the early to mid 2000s where people made crank calls and then acted out what happened with hand puppets.
The reason I'm asking is it lasted for five seasons and used to be on all the time when Comedy Central had nothing to show on the weekends. The thing is, I don't remember anyone I knew who talked about it. No one quoted it. Years later, no one on Reddit ever discusses it.
The same isn't true for Simpsons, Chappelle Show, SouthPark, Daria, Beavis and Butthead, and a whole bunch of other comedy shows that had the same audience.
