I have a spotwelder with timer control that's been sitting in my garage for years. I don't have a lot of experience with it, but I'm designing a sheet metal piece that I'd like to back up with some 18 ga. stiffeners in a couple places.

What do you guys think about doing that with my 120V welder? Is differing thicknesses okay? Any tips on whether the thin or thick side should be next to the positive electrode? Clamping pressure?

I'll experiment with it, but I don't have materials in yet and wanted to make sure it was okay before I bought anything.

I'm looking at a 2017 CRV EX-L, 44k miles in SW PA.

I'm aware of the oil/gas mixing issue and that it has been fixed on newer engines in addition to a fix for existing vehicles. When I called to inquire about this fix on the vehicle I'm interested in I was told that it was not on the recall list by the service department and sales told me the VIN of this vehicle is not on the list but he's aware of that issue.

Can anyone confirm the accuracy of the dealer's statement?

Hi Folks! We have a 2017 Honda CR-V Ex-L with the 1.5 turbo engine with about 24k miles. It’s been cold the last few weeks here in NW Illinois and I notice a strange smell like the fuel or gasoline burning kinda smell inside the cabin. It is faint but noticeable. I am concerned because I have a toddler and a baby who travel often in this CR-V which is my wife’s in town runabout (we also have a 2021 Odyssey for when the whole family goes out).

Is this something of a concern or just my mind playing tricks and associating with the recent oil dilution issues that I was reading about ? What could be possibly causing this ? I like the car and the oil dilution doesn’t concern me as Honda has extended the warranty but I would be really concerned if that has smell inside the cabin is something real and I would not want to comprise with the safety and well being of my children.

I'm transitioning from the oil and gas industry to utilities so I'm trying get a better understanding of the control room management side of things.

What software is common in the industry for the documentation and logging of events? What is the day to day like for a utilities controller? In oil/gas it's mainly taking/making calls to field personnel and of course, managing SCADA, is this similar with utilities? Any challenges specific to utilities? Prepping documentation for audits, reporting, things of that nature?

Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Whenever I cold start it smells like gas especially on the outside. I don't see any leaks and the fuel door is closed. The smell isn't tremendous, but it is noticeable in the garage. I don't know if it's a normal thing or not. (28k miles Touring AWD)

I was driving my CRV for about an hour the other day when all of a sudden I felt my car sliding back down the small hill I was driving up at the time. I managed to pull on the ebreak before causing an accident. The car still had power but the gas and brake pedal were completely non functional. pushing on either did nothing at all. After about 5 minutes I turned the car off and back on again. The car worked perfectly. This was two weeks ago and I've had no problems since. I'm pretty confused as to what happened and can't come up with an explanation.

Pretty much explained it in the title. I'm really tempted to sign a car note for that brand new Camaro SS. Would I regret dailying a C5? Is the Camaro too expensive?($35-40k) drive in traffic to work and sometimes it rains.

Driving a CR-V 2007 iVTEC 2.0 for a couple of years now. Mostly using 95 octane petrol. I can see in the manual that 95 octane petrol is the minimum recommended. Would you recommend switching to 100 octane petrol? 98 octane is not available at my preferred local petrol station. Could I expect any adverse effects if switching to 100 octane?
