CAI is an international organization that is a think tank and lobby group. It is the biggest voice in HOAs and has a very big influence on making HOA laws and on how HOA communities are run.
However, its interests are in running HOAs like a business and generating a profit. From the legal, operational and management of HOAs, it's a great organization, but it sacrifices the rights and interests of the HOA members to protect the profits of CAI members who are mostly HOA lawyers, managers and developers.
As a homeowner in an HOA, you should not consider CAI as the ultimate go to source on HOA information and the protector of your rights as an HOA home owner. All their information and advice is provided to protect the profit making ability of external groups who rely on HOAs to make their money.
If you need advice or support as an HOA home owner because of issues with your HOA, do not rely only on the organization that backs the people making money off of you.
When looking for an HOA attorney for yourself, for example, avoid CAI affiliated attorneys or attorneys that work exclusively for HOAs. When looking for property management companies, don't limit yourself to property management companies that specialize in HOAs or are CAI affiliated. When seeking bids, do not limit yourself to contractor referrals from CAI sources.
CAI is not a bad organization, but you shouldn't rely on the best friend of your enemy when you have a problem to resolve.

Last year, my association told me the location and date of when they’ll be picked up and I just walked it over to my dumpster. This year, they said they didn’t know and to contact the city. City said to contact WM. I can’t fit it in my car so I’m not sure what to do. Having trouble reaching WM.
Do you just put it by the dumpster? That seems not great.
Does anyone know if there is an engineering association similar to ACCA for accountants were you could become a qualified/recognised. ISTRUCTE is similar however it is only for engineers that already hold a Degree.

how was the Odoo Community Association inventory management compared with Odoo Enterprise? What's lack in Odoo Community is the barcode integration & custom field. I wonder does the community association has it?
Was testing Odoo during trial, but realised if I need to add a custom field, I have to start paying thousands per year for the Studio app.
New player, super interested in picking up Yu Jing. I’m not sure if I’m 100% sold on the yellow color scheme. Does this community have any strong opinions on paint schemes? Like should Yu Jing always be yellow-ish?
