Picked up some coffee on a recent trip to Medellin (from Pergamino). Alto de Letras and Buesaca, both are from 2000m, washed/fermented/dried in the sun. Would say these are Light-to-Medium roasts.
Been making my usual two-cup pourover:
- 30g, usually dial in medium/light roasts somewhere between fine and medium (13-14 on a Timemore Chestnut C2).
- 500ml 85C water
- Usually takes 4+ mins
For these two coffees from Colombia, I increased the grind size to 16-17 (for reference I use 18 grind size for French press) but still takes 7-8 minutes to draw down completely.
Coffee beans were roasted fresh but do appear smaller, drier (no oil) and harder/crunchier when grinding. Could it be I’m ending up with a lot more fines that’s clogging the V60 filter?
