A list of puns related to "Coffee & Kareem"
The whole move I couldnβt get passed that Kareem acts exactly how Patrice would if he was a kid in this time. Itβs like the role was portrayed with Patrice in mind. A good laugh during this quarantine
I just finished watching coffee & Kareem! It was hilarious. Anyone else watch it yet? What are your thoughts?! Honestly just want to laugh about the best parts π
As much as I enjoy peopleβs opinions on hypotheticals like this, itβs tiring to read the same few over and over about the same three players as though they are the only ones who should be considered.
For example, Wilt Chamberlain is my Greatest Player of All Time because:
He was the greatest prolific scorer ever and the most efficient ever proportionate to his era.
His high-scoring had great impact on winning (Through his 4 full seasons with the Warriors, they went 116-60 when Wilt took at least his average number of shots that season and 59-79 when he took less).
He stepped up his scoring in the big games, having the 2 highest scoring games facing elimination in history, tied for 3rd, and the highest scoring elimination game in finals history, winning all 4 games.
The most consistently dominant rebounder ever with 11 rebounding titles in regular seasons.
Stepped up his rebounding in the postseasons, out-rebounded only in 1 series (averaged 27.8/19.8/6.3) of his career and had a higher career playoff rebounding rate than Dennis Rodman while playing nearly 19 extra minutes per game.
Wilt was one the best big-man playmakers in history and the only one to ever lead the league in total assists.
Wiltβs playmaking had tremendous impact on winning (when Wilt had 7 or more assists, the 76ers went 107-16).
Wilt was arguably the greatest shot-blocker and one of the best rim protectors in history.
Wilt is the only player to lead the best offense in the league in the three major categories and anchor the best defense in the league.
Wilt was an unparalleled athletic specimen, arguably the perfect basketball body.
Iβd really love to read some fresh, interesting opinions and reasoning.

Well that was bad and confusing. From the get go it's pretty obvious that "Coffee & Kareem" won't have much to offer but its comedy alone. But even with those extremely low expectations at the onset, the film still performs very poorly. This is a mashup that doesn't make any sense or jive well.
Police Officer James Coffee (Ed Helms) is in a relationship with Vanessa Manning (Taraji P. Henson). But her 12-year-old son Kareem (Terrence Little Gardenhigh) doesn't like James and devices a scheme to have James be scared away for good. Kareem tries to hire criminals to do the dirty deed but it fails badly and eventually finds himself and James the target of these criminals. Now the two are forced to team-up to save Vanessa and their asses.
With all its profanities, dirty jokes, and gore, there's this unnerving and awkward feeling that "Coffee & Kareem" is really forcing it to be hip, cool, and funny. Unfortunately, the film turned out to be in the worst shape it could be as jokes fall flat, the story even for a mindless comedy is a complete head-shaker, and the young Kareem feels extremely out of place. Ironically, he is actually the character with the raunchiest and dirtiest script. To put it in simple terms, nothing in the film literally lands and we could actually count the scenes or jokes that made us laugh. The only saving grace is probably Taraji P. Henson who surprisingly brought in her usual powerful performance but that's pretty much about it. Even with its slim running time, the film felt long and tedious. This is no "21 Jump Street" and it would be best to avoid this as much as possible - even as a time-waster.
Rating: .5 out of 5
"Coffee & Kareem" is a would-be comedy that's not as funny, or as satirical, as the movies that inspired it. We know it, the movie knows it, and both of us are tired. The material is so exhausted that it props its eyes open with emergency injections of violence and obscenity. If this is not the end of the road for the cop buddy movie, maybe it should be. The formula has been reworked so many times that it's getting tough to come up with new variations. But don't get your hopes up; the crew has not exactly extended themselves to create a new and original story for this movie.
Ed Helms stars as James Coffee, a police officer with a name that only a first-time screenwriter could find humorous. On the job, he is able to foresee the movements of his enemies with almost psychic inaccuracy. His clumsiness has generated a reputation around the office, especially with Detective Watts (Betty Gilpin), the competitor who always feels the need to taunt Coffee with cruel and ridiculous post-match comments. On his own time, Coffee is just a sensitive romantic, who makes small talk over candlelit dinners and wants to be present for his new girlfriend, Vanessa (Taraji P. Henson). There is nothing in the basic story of the movie that really requires Helms to reveal these tender aspects to his character, but perhaps he simply put them in because he liked them.
Meanwhile, we are introduced to Vanessa's beloved 12-year-old son Kareem (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), who represents a failure of home, school, and society. He is short, stocky, wants to be liked, has a yearning energy, and was born clueless. His tone is crude and grating; everything he says sounds unwholesome. Evidence is shown in an early scene, where he stands in front of the classroom and recites a vulgar poem sexualizing his teacher. He wants to split up his mother's relationship, attempting to scare away Coffee for good by trying to hire criminal fugitives to take him out. When Coffee unwittingly drives Kareem to a rougher part of town to pay said baddie, Kareem witnesses a cop killing, and it sends the two scrambling from dopey drug dealers.
Normally, this would be one of those movies where the outsider (or, in this case, the kid) finds himself in the dangerous world of cops and robbers. But actually, the kid handles everything very well, and it's the cop who seems overtaken by the job's tasks. Gardenhigh and Helms are in full sail as two
