So the other day, I was scrolling on Youtube when the occasional movie scene comes on my interested page. For whatever reason, the movie suggested was Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 1. So I clicked on it for old time sake and watched the scene.

Thats when my theory senses kicked in and the question came up: "For the Mayor of SwallowFalls to go from being a small and lean looking man, to being the size of a truck in just 30 days, how much would he have to eat to get that big in such a small amount of time?" This followed on with other questions like: "How is it that he was able to stay alive when he clearly was in due course for a heart attack or Lord knows something worse?" The reality is, although I'd love to look more into this sort of thing, my current lifestyle has me too busy to currently invest any time looking more into this theory. But if someone could please pick up on this and run with it, I'd love to see where people go with this.

Now not to rip on MatPat for sorta steering clear from this film, even though it would be a perfect crossover film as it's about SCIENCE AND FOOD, I get it wasn't everyones favourite animation. Hence it would make sense that since it came out long before Food theory existed, it wouldn't make sense as just a film theory video. But now that Food theory has taken off and become just as impactful and incredible as its two older siblings (Game and Film Theory) I think this would make a perfect crossover whenever possible in the new year for a video. So if by some miracle you read this MatPat, firstly thank you for all the love, blood, sweat and literal tears you pour into your videos, they bring a smile to my face when the YouTube bell rings telling me a new Game/Film/Food Theory vid is out. Secondly on behalf of everyone here, please look into this. I can already tell that it would be a pretty cool Film and Food theory crossover vid, but more importantly, its a question that will plague me for the rest of my life until I get confirmation that I aint crazy. Cause there is certainly something not right with the mayor in this film.

In Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Flint Lockwood launches a machine into the clouds that makes it rain food down on his island home by typing in whatever input he wants the food to rain down as. But then the movie hits its climax and giant food starts raining down and trashing the island, and all of the citizens have to escape to safety on rafts while Flint goes up to the clouds to shut down his machine.

What kind of food would be a most appropriate material to make a sea-worthy raft out of?

That sounds like an awesome Food Theory if you ask me!

I'm surprised he didn't cover this movie yet, considering how much it has do with with food. It would be the perfect opportnity to crossover/promote his food theory channel.

That's it. That's my opinion. They're the same movie: misunderstood main character gets a big break but because of their actions, something big n bad is coming unless they learn their lesson and stop the big bad. Probably unpopular, but I also think this formula works and they're flippin' phenomenal movies

They're also SO SO rewatchable
