A list of puns related to "Claudius Ii"
#SOLD SOLD SOLD ALL SOLD
I am here once again to sell my spoils of late roman coins. I bought these particular coins uncleaned and have cleaned them myself during quarantine, only to reveal some surprising rarities.
The higher priced items are based off of previously sold auctions. If you wish, I can send you links to these references. Just mention it in the PM. Lower priced ones generally don't make it to the big boy auctions.
All prices are OBO, even if I don't mention it. If you're interested in something, don't hesitate to send me an offer, although I would appreciate it if you didn't lowball me.

Isis and Serapis were figures fit to bridge the divide between African and European religion. They are both deserving of more investigation than I can provide here, and I invite you to diligently read the excellent articles I linked above.
Rome's control over the eastern part of the empire became more and more notional as the 3rd Century Crisis progressed. Such coins served as a rather wistful reminder of Rome's aspiration to maintain what it controlled and regain what it was losing. The mint of Antioch that struck this coin would not be showing faraway Roman rulers for much longer.
The gods are not mentioned by name, and Romans were expected to know them from their accouterments. The coin was struck at Antioch where doubtless such gods were more recognizable than the average. The grain measuring modius on Serapis' head and Isis' Nile-water-bearing situla were an on-the-nose references to the Egyptian grain that fed Roman masses - and presumably the Emperor's power to whisk the grain to wherever he desired.
The reverse reads CONSER AVG - "Conservator Avgvsti". That doesn't mean that the Emperor was going to save or protect Rome, but the opposite: Serapis and Isis would protect Claudius. In some circles Serapis was known as a god of healing; from him Marcus Aurelius and Commodus were both said to have received miraculous cures. Claudius, of course, died on campaign from the plague of Cyprian at the start of 270 - one wonders if this coin was issued after the Emperor had expired, or perhaps to avert rumors of his demise?
Struck Antioch, RIC V (I) 202

Obv: IMP C CLAVDIVS AVG
Rev: CONSER AVG
Reverse shows Serapis facing R and Isis facing L. Serapis, head ornamented with modius, holding scepter transverse over left shoulder, right arm raised. Isis, head ornamented with a lotus flower, holding a sistrum and a situla.
Pleasing verdigris, mint state.
Today I'm selling a potin tetradrachm of Claudius II "Gothicus" from Alexandria, Egypt. These Alexandrian tetradrachms are a fascinating piece of history as they were struck in many ways to continue the isolationist economic policy first introduced under the Ptolemaic rulers of Egypt. You can read a bit more about their history at the "Coins of Roman Egypt" website here.

I'm asking $95 including shipping within the US(outside the US just ask - I'll get you a quote), exactly what I paid for this coin. Of course, I'm also willing to discuss trades for Roman Republic silver or bronze as well.
Thanks for looking and feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns. As always, I fully guarantee the authenticity of this coin and will refund your money, including return shipping, if it is ever found to be inauthentic.
Considering the fact that Balkan populations (besides Greece) have 40-70% Pre-Slavic Balkan admixture, how do you feel about the other half of your ancestors who lived in the regions your country is today. Do people in your country honour them, in some sort of way, like Greeks and Romanians, or simply don't care about them, like most of the South-Slavic populations.
I think it's connected to the fact that non-Slavic speaking populations weren't that affected by the newly-arrived Slavic cultures and still could hold on to their own. A similar thing happened after the Hellenization and Turkification of Anatolia, the ancient cultures like the Hittites (who were a world power) are nothing more than a culture of ruins.
A shame, the ancient peoples were quite badass and respected by the Romans. The Dacians, for example, were unlike other populations, never shown hand-cuffed in Roman art. They also were very important to the Roman defence. Here are the Illyrian-Roman/Byzantine emperors (you probably recognise some names):
Based on how we've been getting assistance from various Beasts we faced off in the past both in mobile and Arcade, I have been thinking so hard about what we'd eventually get for the final battle of Fate/Grand Order's Cosmos in the Lostbelt arc. Before talking about it, however, we will talk about the identities and current statuses of all seven Beasts we've encountered throughout the entire Nasuverse.
>Beast I of Pity
>Identity: Goetia
>Status: Semi-Active
Goetia is the second Beast we defeated in our entire journey, being the instigator of the Observer of the Timeless Temple arc as the titular Observer. After defeating him, he starts to believe in the potential of Humanity, and decides to concede. However, we haven't known his motivations for the Humanity Incineration Incident until we entered the outer borders of the fifth Lostbelt: Atlantis. Now possessing a form seemingly identical to Solomon's restarted life as Romani Archaman, Goetia, as the Chaldean running around and bringing hope to the citizens of the Lostbelt, reveals his reason for incinerating humanity before: Beast VII, acting as the Foreign God, is about to do worse: the erasure of the entire multiverse as a whole. With that in mind, that was the first and last time we saw him ever since the Temple of Time, warning Chaldea of a traitor among their remaining ranks.
>Beast II of Regression
>Identity: Tiamat, the Primordial Mother
>Status: Active (reduced to a larval state in the Arcade universe)
The first Beast we defeated in the entire journey, Tiamat was fought in the Seventh Singularity, the Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. Her motivation for reawakening in the Singularity is of an unrelated reason to the Temple of Time incident, the love she brought is all but dissipating from everyone's memory at the time, and decided to replace humanity with "more perfect children" in the form of twelve types of Demonic Beasts, including the Lahmu, the strongest of them all. In fact, the Holy Grail Goetia placed in said Singularity was actually in Gilgamesh's possession, and was not activated in the mobile timeline by him, while it was indeed activated in the Arcade timeline, leading to his corpse getting possessed by Nebuchadnezzar II. Despite the heavy sacrifices of Gilgamesh and Chaldea's Heroic Spirit-filled army, they managed to beat Tiamat and remind her that people never forget her love for living beings, especially being the basis of motherly love throughout the entir

Claudius differs from the prior leaders I've written about in a couple of ways. First, unlike Leonard Kurita or Edward Davion, who were ruling over governments that were growing and developing, Claudius was Archon during the middle of the Second Succession War, taking power in 2845. This was a crucial period for the Inner Sphere as Operation HOLY SHROUD had just concluded and the extinction of Star League technology was rapidly accelerating. And second, while my first two subjects are characterized largely by their incompetence, Claudius Steiner was very, very good at what he set out to do. And that was killing anyone he thought was his enemy.
Claudius was born in 2812, the second son of Archon Richard Steiner. While his older brother Marcus would be noted mostly for his organizational strategies, such as reforming the Stealths and coordinating the successful Citizen Regiments program, Claudius was a skilled tactician who led the elite 2nd Lyran Guards. It seems like a winning combination that people could rally behind, the astute Archon as commander-in-chief and his brother as the knife to skewer the Mariks and Kuritans. Then, in 2843, Marcus caught meningitis and died.
As Marcus had never put an Archon-Designate forward for the Estates General to ratify, it was entirely in the assembly's hands to choose the next Archon. Melissa Nin, the Archon's widow and Duchess of Furillo, put forward herself as a candidate for the throne. Claudius responded with the following message to Tharkad, which really set the tone for his future reign.
> I am neither humble nor courteous and so will not couch my intent with flowery or eloquent phrases. Instead, hear me plain: I will kill anyone who challenges my claim to the Archonship, and I will torture anyone who supports any of my rivals for the throne. I hope I've made myself understood.
I've always found it pretty admirable that the Estates General refused to acknowledge his claim. Harland Dinesen, the Speaker of the Assembly, instead rallied the delegates to support Nin, who became Archon in December 2844. Nobody's really sure why he chose to do that, but I suspect that Claudius' threats galvanized support against him and Dinesen believed that he would not be able to carry out his threats.
Five months later, Claudius led

The video starts with an almost Utopic scene where the six monarchs sit feasting at a table. The setting is Edenic and it reminds us of "The Last Supper" before an obvious misfortune. Hwanwoong's figure steals glances at the audience which hints at the fact that he knows something that the others do not.
The scene is fleeting and it quickly shifts into a darker more chaotic one where the monarchs are bound in a torturous sleep. This corresponds to the opening act of the play that sets the scene in an already tensed political and familial situation with only brief allusions to an Edenic past. In his first soliloquy (1.ii), Hamlet talks about "an unweeded garden / That grows to seed" now that his father is gone and his uncle is on the throne.
As the scene shifts into a more darker and angst-ridden mood, we see the six monarchs in an eternal slumber. I have tried to see each monarch as a representation of Hamlet's fractured consciousness. I will relate the imagery, line distribution and sometimes dance moves to attempt to prove my point.
Both in his teaser and the official MV, Seoho is introduced with a soft aura, with white silk fabric surrounding him. It is suggestive of his state of innocence in the sense that he isn't aware/ready for what awaits him. As we progress into the video, we see him tied up. In Hamlet, Hamlet is shown to be a mourning figure from the very beginning but it is only a few scenes into the play that he meets with the fact that his father might have been murdered by his uncle Claudius. This act of fratricide demands revenge from the side of the son who is supposed to succeed the father, his closest kin. Let me talk a little about the tradition of revenge in the feudal age. It was seen as a social and moral imperative. Francis Bacon calls it a kind of "wild justice". If you're from royalty and your closest kin is killed unjustly, you exact revenge. It was also a question of honour and masculinity which I will talk about later. Hamlet (Seoho), a Renaissance intellectual, finds himself in a difficult situation. As a new intellectual, he rejects the idea of revenge and wants to stick to remembrance of his late father but as a member of the royalty, it is his moral obligation. Seo

The queen of the Celtic Iceni tribe. After her husband's death to the hand of the Roman Empire and her humiliation to the hand of Emperor Claudius, she raised an army of over 230.000 warriors with many other tribes and was responsible for the death of over 80,000 Romans.
>!She died, maybe of suicide, after the battle of Watling Street when her army was beaten by the Romans, while heavily outnumbered, they had discipline and whiped the celts.!<
She was decribed as "very tall, in appearance most terrifying, in the glance of her eye most fierce, and her voice was harsh; a great mass of the tawniest hair fell to her hips; around her neck was a large golden necklace"
I imagine some kind of feral warrior for her, kind of like Lu BΓΌ, especially when we take a look at her description by Dio Cassius, battling with a lance or a small sword and having an impressing aura.
Something interesting about her is the few number of sources about her : only two Roman historians : Dio Cassius and Tacitus, provide records of her. There is no grave, no monument, no representation, and some of their records are contradicting each other.
Her name also mean "Victory". There is also Boudicca from "The Victors Project", if you liked the Hunger Games books, you have to take a look at it.
As a child, the young prince of Wallachia (in Romania) was sent as an hostage to the Ottoman Empire. After the fall of the Constantinople in 1453 he went back to his birthplace and took the throne by force. He mostly fought the Ottomans around 1462, escpecially during the "Night Attack at TΓ’rgoviΘte" where between 10,000 and 23,000 Turks were killed and impaled during one night. The numbers are variying but hundred of thousand of people died during his wars.
>!He was murdered between december 1476 and January 1477 under mysterious cirumstances, his head being sent to the sultan Mehmed II who impaled it as proof of his death!<
For his fight, maybe I am influenced by the Alucard of Hellsing but I imagine him as his Dracula form at the end of the serie. Also, if you watc

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
> It doesnβt matter if youβre my resurrected kinβ¦ or a wise ruler from the pastβ¦ or a brave general from an ancient eraβ¦ or even if youβre a legendary king yourself. The only one suitable to be emperor is none other than Nero Claudius! Loved by the people, allowed to love them, wanted by them, there is only one! The one and only ruler! A shining star like so! Arrogant to carry all the burden like so! Even if all the Gods of Rome descend and tell her to surrender, sheβll never back down! Umu, I wonβt back down, I will rule and I will prosper gloriously! I am, without a doubt, Rome itself!
The fifth emperor of Imperial Rome, Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus was a magnanimous figure to some, and a hellish despot to others. Nero excelled in diplomacy, and keeping citizens entertained with the employ of "bread and circuses," which took the form of the Nero Fest, an emulation of the Greek Olympics. Nero was much harsher on the world of Christianity, ordering the purging of such a barbaric occult from the prodigious Roman Empire. It was said that due to the silver plateware that was used by the emperor, a mental degradation occurred within Nero, leading to the gradual decline of sanity and eventual suicide of the mighty tyrant.
In Fate/EXTRA, Nero is summoned as the Saber-class Servant to Hakuno Kishinami, one of 128 Masters participating in the Moon Cell's Holy Grail War. Together, they advanced up the Moon Ladder, winning against Masters of varying qualities and backgrounds, before confronting the corrupted NPC Twice H. Pieceman outside the Angelica Cage.
In Fate/EXTRA Last Encore, which takes place following a nonexistent route of Fate/EXTRA, the anime is bad.
In Fate/EXTRA CCC, which takes place following a nonexistent route of Fate/EXTRA (different from Last Encore), I don't know what happens because Nero Route is untranslated as of now.
In Fate/EXTELLA, which takes place following a nonexistent route of Fate/EXTRA (different from Last Encore and EXTRA CCC), after Hakuno Kishinami's victory in the Moon Cell Holy Grail War, they gained access to the Regalia, a ring that allows direct wielding of the full power of the Moon Cell. Once Hakuno split the Regalia into three to escape Archimedes' trap, Nero reunited the pieces with help from her fragment of Hakuno, and successfully drove off the Umbral Star.

Hello! so very recently, like a few hours ago, i broke a huge brick wall with my 4x great-grandfather and discovered iβm a descendent of the Pegues Family of South Carolina. but i soon ran into another brick wall with my 8x great-grandfather, Claudius Pegues I.
on his son Claudius IIβs birth record his name is listed as Jean Francois Peguiers, i couldnβt find anything close to his birth and death date.
Claudius I was born 1684-ish in Provence, France and died 1735 in London, England
he married a woman from switzerland in 1710 and there son Claudius was born 1719
if anyone has any leads thatβd be really helpful!
Edit: I found Jean Peguiers/Claudius Peguesβ baptism. i am now looking for his father, Pierre Peguiers, born sometime in the 1630βs. his wives name was Marguerite/Magueritte Roullette.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
