A list of puns related to "Classic Book Titles"
One thing that I havenยดt seen many, if anyone, mention is the importance of Davoth in the overall story of the Doom games that extends even to the Wolfenstein lore.
First a quick explanation of Davoth. Heยดs the Dark lord of Hell, the leader of the dark realm and one of the very first gods created by the Father. He was put in charge of Jekkad, but anger at seeing his people die while Urdakยดs lived, consumed him with rage that transformed the once beautiful realm into what is now Hell. Hell is Davoth and according to Hugo, Hell itself is an extension of him and his power.
To start things, in the recent livestream Hugo stated that there is no multiverse, but rather multiple dimensions and proceeded to say that Hell is the only one that doesnยดt have other versions. To quote: "There is only one original dimension that there are no multiple versions of and that is Hell"
Meaning Hell is unique and there is only one. While yes, this was common knowledge, it wasnยดt exactly confirmed up until now and this increases the importance of Davoth in the overall narrative of the id universe.
To put it simply, Davoth has been the being whose presence has been felt ever since Doomguy set foot on Phobos during Knee deep in the dead, the dark lordยดs been there every step of the way of the Slayerยดs journey from Doom 1 to Eternal. Heยดs been present during B.Jยดs quick journey to Hell after getting hold of the Spear of destiny and if Doom 3 is someday confirmed canon and in another dimension or timeline, then heยดs been present as well during that time.
The importance of the dark lord extends to more than 25 years of history in the Doom universe and the moment he dies, is the moment the Slayerยดs journey that started in Doom 1, comes to a close.
Just something to think about.
This book may be a romance book. The MC is a sad man that's descrbied as handsome but littered with scars. The only scene that can be recalled is of the MC being on a ship or after and meeting a woman and they fall in love.

I.E., the title refers to the color or lands of the deck, or to how it's played. Either the original book title making sense, or an altered one that's a pun.
If it is a classic you would think there is a film version. Or a tv version. But sometimes nobody makes a film of it.
Eg. I think William Gibson's Neuromancer is a sci fi classic, but to my knowledge nobody has yet made a film version of it.
Likewise "The Warlock in Spite of Himself" is a classic fantasy novel, but no film version. Not yet.
Meanwhile there is very poor version of "Dragons of Autumn Twilight" and that mediocre retelling of "A Princess of Mars" that Disney made... So they had film versions made, but there are other books out there which certainly deserve attention.
Was at the classic lit. section and came across this book, but can't remember the title or author. I remember the synopsis though. It's about a man who falls in love with a waitress, whom he takes and grooms to be a fine lady and learn the piano. She also has quite the secret or something.
I know there are a bunch of sales on Amazon, but do you know how to search for specific books that are on sale?
In this thread we had a good time coming up with our own. I had a shot at turning them into covers.
