A list of puns related to "Ciara Name"
My fiance and I are both Irish but recently moved to Canada and we really like the name "Ciara." However one of my best girlfriend's says everyone will pronounce it wrong. IT's a relatively common name in Ireland and it is pronounced "KEER-rah" but according to her most people in North America will pronounce it "Sierra" apparently because a famous singer pronounces it that way.
I don't mind her having to tell people how to pronounce her name, but if EVERYONE will pronounce it wrong automatically I'm hesitant on choosing it. How would you pronounce Ciara upon seeing it?
What was the name of that Zizek movie? I want to watch it again.
I think it was 90s or 00s, but I can't really be sure. I know that was the 00s I heard it in.
The artist's name that I believe it said is something like Ciara, Clara or something like that; I remember something about how to say it not being entirely clear as a kid.
The lyrics are something about being out, possibly clubbing, and not wanting to go home alone or leave alone or something. I believe the lyrics include something like, "I just don't want to go back to my house alone" or "I just don't want to leave here alone" and something like "won't you take be back to your/my house".
The artist has a high voice. I can't quite picture how much, but in no way was it low or deep.
It's possible it could've been RnB, but the style of the music seems to remind me of Lily Allen; though I don't really know if that's accurate or not.
I really appreciate anyone's help. It was a song my brother had on the computer back then and I never took much note of the name (if it even had the right name).
Thanks.

I feel two kinda ways about it, but tbh it's hard to say without understanding how much Future is really in this kid's life.
Alright so background is... we live in the USA (Tx). My husband is Vietnamese-American and has a common, one-syllable Vietnamese last name (which baby will also have as surname). I'm Irish-American. It's important to me that since our daughter will have a Vietnamese surname, I really want her Irish heritage to be reflected in her first name.
After much time spent sifting through (and being vetoed on) traditional Irish girl names... Ciara (pronounced Kee-ra) seems to have stuck and is our strong front-runner.
Here's my ambivalence though... I want to honor my/her Irish heritage by spelling it the Irish way. But I know that here in the US, when people see Ciara, there's a good chance they're going to pronounce it like "See-air-a" or "Kee-ar-ah". In my mind... it shouldn't be too hard to just simply say "oh, it's just the Irish spelling" if my daughter gets questions or has to explain her name pronunciation.
Does anybody have a similar name situation where your name is often mis-pronounced and you need to correct people? Do you HATE this and curse your parents for this? I know there's anglicized versions (Keira, Kira) that would be easier for Americans to recognize and pronounce correctly... but I feel like I'm losing some of the Irish-ness by anglicizing it.
Interested in this sub's thoughts on the importance of sticking to certain spellings, even if it might make pronunciation less obvious or more confusing in some situations. Thoughts?
Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens - I thought they would be if not with Miley, Demi, and Selena close behind them but nope. For some reason, that Disney magic didn't work for them. Though I enjoyed "Head Strong" , "Guilty Pleasure" , "V" and "Identified". For some reason they didn't become big as Miley, Selena and Demi. They had potential to be honest.
Tinashe - She has the full package. Good dancer, pretty good singer, catchy music, cosign from multiple big-name artists, pretty face. 2 ON was being played nonstop in 2013-2014. I liked "Aquarius" but I don't know why the GP can see Tinashe's talent.
Justine Skye - Her music is so good yet underrated. Sheβs gorgeous I like a few of her songs. But her career is going mainstream as it should be. Her last album flopped and she was working with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake.
Keri Hilson - She was on a track with Timbaland called "The Way I Are" and after that people were invested in her. Later on she wrote songs for people like Ciara, Usher , and etc. She released her album called "In A Perfect World..." Her single "Knock You Down" was played a lot on the radio from what I remember. In 2010 she released "No Boys Allowed" and "Pretty Girl Rock" was pretty big but her album didn't do well as the last. I think her not liking Beyonce and being open about caused career damaged.
Let's discuss: Who's someone you thought their career was going to pop but went nowhere?
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Yes, Hyolyn. THE Hyolyn. Singer, dancer, songwriter, producer, choreographer, CEO, and former member of a little girl group called Sistar: Hyolyn. The woman who just made a comeback with Laying Low. Now that we're clear on who we're talking about, let's get into it. In this essay, I will prove that Kim Hyojung truly is That Bitchβ’, mostly through focusing on her dance and performance videos.
Stage Practice Videos
These are the two most important links in this post (besides the one of her new MV). If you don't click any other link in this post, it's okay. But you should watch these two. Why? Because they both showcase Hyolyn's superb live vocals (complete with belting, riffs, and runs) with energetic dancing in, you guessed it, stiletto heels. These are both songs she performed on the show Immortal Songs back in 2011 and 2012. And boy, let me tell you. It's not enough to say "she's still got it in 2020" (when she recorded these videos) bc she has improved both her vocal technique and the choreo! Check it out!
Choreo/Performances of her own songs
So Hyolyn has done a lot of work with choreographers from the US, which has lead to both amazing covers and breathtaking performances. I'll list some of the covers later, but we'll focus on Hyolyn's own work in this section.
