What are the red flags in a white paper that indicate this crypto project will be a failure?
Many people, especially me, or newcomers, are only gradually entering the world of crypto and may not yet understand one or two technical details.
Friends of mine arrived with a super great coin which in the end turned out to be a mlm scam
Since today's whitepapers look more like a marketing plan of a sugary soda drink company I thought maybe there are some smart apes here who can help and list possible keywords that indicate that this project will fail or uses outdated technology.

First of all it's really boring. Actually ALGO has like 5 very lengthy white papers. I have read and abstracted their original white paper which was 75 pages, front and back!
1 Introduction
Algorand is a truly democratic and efficient way to implement a public ledger. Unlike prior implementations based on proof of work, it requires a negligible amount of computation, and generates a transaction history that will not โforkโ with overwhelmingly high probability.
Algorand is based on (a novel and super-fast) message-passing Byzantine agreement.
Currently, ledgers can be inefficient to manage. For example, Bitcoinโs proof-of-work approach requires a vast amount of computation, is wasteful and scales poorly. In addition, it concentrates power in very few hands.
We call our approach Algorand, because we use algorithmic randomness to select, based on the ledger constructed so far, a set of verifiers who are in charge of constructing the next block of valid transactions.
Algorandโs approach is quite democratic, in the sense that it does not create different classes of users (as โminersโ and โordinary usersโ in Bitcoin). In Algorand โall power resides with the set of all usersโ.
One notable property of Algorand is that its transaction history may fork only with very small probability (e.g., one in a trillion). Algorand can also address some legal and political concerns.
2 Bitcoinโs Assumption and Technical Problems
Bitcoin assumes that no malicious entity (nor a coalition of coordinated malicious entities) controls the majority of the computational power devoted to block generation. Such an entity, in fact, would be able to modify the blockchain, and thus re-write the payment history, as it pleases.
Computational Waste: Bitcoinโs proof-of-work approach to block generation requires an extraordinary amount of computation.
Concentration of Power: Only using pools of specially built computers, one might expect to make a profit by generating new blocks. Accordingly, today there are, two disjoint classes of users: ordinary users, who only make payments, and specialized mining pools, that only search for new blocks.
Ambiguity: In Bitcoin, the blockchain is not necessarily unique. Indeed, its latest portion often forks. Only after several blocks have been added to the chain, can one be reasonably sure that the first blocks will be the same for all users. A few days ago, I noticed a job posting on this subreddit looking for someone to write a white paper. They asked that the writer include graphs and charts in a very niche field. All for 10 cents per word.
This is very unfair to writers on this subreddit, regardless of their location.
Firstly, white papers are very technical and require expert-level knowledge to write.
Secondly, asking a writer to include graphs and charts in a white paper is asking them to do both the work of a writer and a graphic designer for 10 cents a word.
The average per word price of a white paper is $1 per word. And this doesn't include the writer moonlighting as a graphic designer.
White paper writers charge between $2.5k - 10k for their work.
Job posting asking writers to do both the writing and graphic design for a white paper for 10 cents a word is frankly insulting.
I propose the subreddit creates a separate flair for white papers with a starting price of 50 cents per word.
This way posters aren't underpaying writers in this subreddit for quality and expert-level work.
Just my two cents.
