Chuang Yi Puns

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows if it's still possible to find physical copies of the old Chuang Yi manga up to the platinum chapters at least, as well as where I could inquire to get them?

I actually have some of their books from back in the day and I am a bit of of a fan for the removable covers, plus I just want to collect the rest of them for their weird uniqueness.

So I really want to continue reading PA again, but I just found out Chuang Yi, the publisher I always read from, is no more, with volume 41 being their last.

Their translations weren't perfect, but to me it's part of the charm. They did seem to stay as truthful to the original as possible (even if they did flip every image to create a left-to-right reading format).

My question is: now what? I am currently at volume 39, and after that I'm debating whether I want 41 from Chuang Yi still (likely), or want to move to the new publisher for the HGSS saga. What publisher should I choose though? Does anyone have any experience? Shogakukan Asia at least has the same cover and logo styles as Chuang Yi's, but what is their translation like? Does anyone have any experience with them or other publishers?

I recently bought the first four volumes of "Fruits Basket" on eBay after watching the anime adaption last year. I would love to add the remaining nineteen volumes of this masterpiece to my collection - as I only read physical manga.

However I've come across a problem. The copies of "Fruits Basket" I have are published by Chuang Yi Comics which stopped publishing a few years ago. As a consequence, versions of this manga published by Chuang Yi Comics are very hard to find. I could purchase different versions, but then my first four volumes would be inconsistent (and we all know how vexing that is).

I was wondering if anyone could help me source the remaining copies of this manga. If you know any websites I may not know about or independent sellers that would be very helpful.

Warning: Long post ahead and apologies in advance if it hurts some feelings, personal opinion, not trying to attack anyone or groups.

I usually shy away from posts that have negativity but reading the other recent post, I appreciate the constructive criticism but still feel that I should provide some input on what international fans perceived as standards of idols and having the bar too high that Into1 is deemed as flops. First thing first, ask yourself as an I-fan who was your benchmark that you compared Into1 against to be considered successful and what were your expectations?

1. K-pop level of international group? EXO, BTS, Big Bang etc?

Are these groups from survival shows? Do they have the ranking system? If not, they are not comparable as others have elaborated in terms of made up of all trainees with good training time length, more time for dance practice, Korea having lots of music shows and opportunities for stages and lastly camera work. Do they leave an empty blank space on stage when one member is missing? No, in Kpop they rearranged the dance. Why do INTO1 gets criticized badly for their dancing on stages, because for their debut INTO1 song and first EP, there is always a space left for missing members which gives the effect of unsymmetrical and uneven dancing. They had to leave a space, or fans of the missing member will protest and be super angry. Look at the Storm Center dance first showcase in the ComingOne, where both Santa and Riki is absent and they did some rearrangement to close the gaps, there were less criticism. The live camera work is so terrible as China is not used to idols, name one INTO1 stage that has good camerawork? In TMEA, the bad camera work cut off Santa’s back flip. Korea's variety shows has less restrictions compared to China, even Kepler has a variety show. With the minimal opportunities for Idol stages in China (even the concert and live musical festival getting cancelled due to Covid), no funny variety show and general audience not understanding the "leaving space" stage performance thinking it as uneven dancing, there is not much Into1 can do to gain popularity.

2. C-pop survival shows groups?

Different times equal different opportunities. Did they debut during Qinglang and Idol ban, and multitudes of celebrity and idol scandals, the pouring milk vote scandal and nationality propaganda where liulang/traffic actors get cancelled for their personality and visiting Japanese shrines. I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Neon Genesis Evangelion Chuang Yi English published 4-9: G3, bought them second hand and they’re a little bit dirty and yellowed but nothing too bad. All volumes still have included dust jackets. Chuang Yi published English manga from Singapore but went bankrupt in 2014. Their manga has since gone out of print and is extremely rare. $275 for the lot or trade full set of regular singles.
