Christmas Letter Board Puns

Because all of the others were not E.

There were lots of L's.

[I pulled this one on my wife as we were rummaging through the display looking for the right letters for our guests' first names. I was afraid the joke was too obtuse, but bright girl that she is, she got it right away. She gave me a wonderful eye roll and said, "You had to go there, huh?" Our kids are in college now so we're empty-nesters, but I can still have a proud dadjoke moment sometimes.]

CHRISTMAS UPDATE IF YOU REMEMBER: DND SURPRISE WAS AN ABSOLUTE SUCCESS. HAVE NOT RECEIVED A HUG THAT LASTED THAT LONG BEFORE. IT WAS AMAZING. HE WAS VERY SURPRISED AND IS SO EXCITED. I LET HIM KNOW ABOUT HIS BUDDY FLYING UP AND HIS FACE FROZE AND MOUTH DROPPED AND IT WAS AMAZING. I WON CHRISTMAS HAHA. THANK YOU EVERYONE. MAYBE A FOLLOW UP ON THE DND WEEKEND.

Nother update…I am finally able to see which books he already has: Players handbook, dungeons masters guide and monster manual.

Update! Truly… I don’t even know what to say! The response I’m getting makes me have tears of joy I’m so excited! Thank you so much to all of you (special shout out to SaltMineSpelunker for really doing me a big favor)

I did reach out to a little local shop in my town to help me with buying some books and things. They are a small company which I love to support and definitely know what to look for. I am ordering some incredible dice that look badass! I am running through Etsy for material and beautiful creations and characters and boards. I will have a rather large box FULL of stuff, thanks to ALL OF YOU for all of the ideas (including whiteboards and notebooks for planning).

The community on here warms my heart, I’m so grateful for each and every one of your helpful and sweet comments. You all have no idea how much it means to me. I definitely am becoming a fan already just by the people and how incredibly wide of variety there is in this game and group. I will absolutely be updating you early Feb with how it all went!

Couple pointers that I’ve said a couple times to messages I’ve received: He has played before. He wants to be DM for the first time. I do have a group picked out already. I understand about the dice. Lots of dice. Dice dice dice. He has no idea. He will receive as a gift all of his materials and books and DICE etc on Christmas. Then he will have a month to plan out what he needs to! Yes I’ll absolutely be playing as well. I am studying. If you have any studying guides or learning info please feel free to comment.

I am and will be reading every individual comment!!! Thank you all SO MUCH!!!!!

Repost with mod permission because my first attempt triggered the bot by mistake, and then I forgot the password to the throwaway lol. But I’m back with the post because it’s still an issue.

Every year, my mom writes a letter to send to friends and family to include with Christmas cards, pretty standard. Except she constantly lies about everything. Example: when I was in high school, I was in the marching band. My senior year, I was section leader for low brass. My mom wrote in that letter that I was drum major and leading the band—she did marching band in high school, so she knew the difference. I then had to explain to people who knew I wasn’t that I didn’t lie about it or try to explain to people who didn’t know beforehand that I wasn’t. It was awkward and embarrassing, and honestly, that’s one of the more minor lies. It’s always felt like my accomplishments weren’t enough for her, so she made up stuff that I supposedly did, and I’d have to put the fire out afterwards. I’ve told her this for several years, but she’s never listened. I eventually just started asking her to leave me out of it entirely because I’d rather not be acknowledged than be lied about.

This year, because of some high school friends returning to town, I was at my parents’ house about a week earlier than normal. One night, I was helping my dad with their computer, and he told me to read the family Christmas letter and see if I wanted to change it since it hadn’t been sent out yet (it normally was sent before I got there). And it was a straight up lie about how I graduated law school at the top of the class and took a biglaw job. But I struggled a lot because my best friend died during finals my first semester, and I couldn’t focus on the exams or during class at the start of the next semester. With a lot of therapy and my amazing admin team, I managed to graduate in the middle of my class. I work at a small non-profit now. I was so proud of myself at graduation for even making it that far and reading her lie about class rank just felt like all my hard work to come back wasn’t good enough. I deleted the one sentence about me from the letter. My mom didn’t realise and sent it out a few days later.

Apparently one of my mom’s friends asked her what I was up to since I wasn’t in the letter this year. Since my mom had written the lie, she was confused, checked the document, and realized that I deleted the sentence from it. She yelled at me over it, and I tried to remind her that I’d been

This is one physician's informed opinion of the situation. The ABOG recommended vaccination across the board for pregnant and reproductive-aged women without knowing whether it was safe, and threatened physicians with their licenses for providing information that could cause women not to vaccinate. He says,

"There are multiple independent sources all over the world that have observed significant increases in miscarriage (spontaneous abortion), fetal death, fetal malformation, severe placental inflammation, severe IUGR, neonatal demise, infant demise, permanent newborn/infant/child chronic autoimmune diseases, permanent immune deficiency syndromes, chronic permanent CNS diseases and chronic cognitive impairment, seizure disorders and the unleashing of neonatal / infant cancers and opportunistic infections, and many other disastrous consequences. Please understand and recognize it is not incumbent upon me to prove this to ABOG or anyone else; rather, it was incumbent upon those recommending it to show safety data before pushing this extremely dangerous experimental gene therapy in all pregnant women."

Here is the letter:

It sounds a little out-there in places (esp at the beginning of the letter, talking about how "big tech" profits from this etc), but I think overall he makes an important case.

My summary:

-He says the ABOG's statement threatening to revoke physician's medical licenses if they provided "misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine" is unprecedented, and questions what is considered "misinformation."

-“'Misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine' seems to be 'a euphemism' for any statement or scientific evidence that differs from the prevailing narrative of stakeholders who most stand to profit from the COVID-19 vaccines."

-Summary of evidence that the vaccine is not safe nor effective (page 6, with more details later in the letter)

-He asks the board to be open to opinions outside the narrative:

"In the mid 1800’s Ignaz Phillip Semmelweis opposed the mainstream narrative. He proved that the 50% maternal mortality at Vienna Lying in Hospital could be decreased simply by hand washing. However, he was mocked, derided, and persecuted by the ‘ABOG-like authorities’ of his time. Similarly, those of us who expressed concern and opposed the liberal use of opioids in the 1990’s (including m
