Nother update…I am finally able to see which books he already has: Players handbook, dungeons masters guide and monster manual.

I did reach out to a little local shop in my town to help me with buying some books and things. They are a small company which I love to support and definitely know what to look for. I am ordering some incredible dice that look badass! I am running through Etsy for material and beautiful creations and characters and boards. I will have a rather large box FULL of stuff, thanks to ALL OF YOU for all of the ideas (including whiteboards and notebooks for planning).
The community on here warms my heart, I’m so grateful for each and every one of your helpful and sweet comments. You all have no idea how much it means to me. I definitely am becoming a fan already just by the people and how incredibly wide of variety there is in this game and group. I will absolutely be updating you early Feb with how it all went!
Couple pointers that I’ve said a couple times to messages I’ve received: He has played before. He wants to be DM for the first time. I do have a group picked out already. I understand about the dice. Lots of dice. Dice dice dice. He has no idea. He will receive as a gift all of his materials and books and DICE etc on Christmas. Then he will have a month to plan out what he needs to! I'm seeking an artist to do a portrait of my and my partner's DnD characters as a gift for them for Christmas. I looking for a more traditional character portrait style, with the two in a sweet pose together. You will need to be comfortable with drawing black characters (including dreads) and a gay couple. I can give detailed descriptions of both characters and include picrews and even some example body types. Hoping to work with you to create a great gift.

Basically what the title says. The two veterans have played 5e, the newbies play board games but no TTRPGs.
Four characters in the party. Would like full bodies of all. I am new to this sub and am unsure of budget. Starting budget of $50 and willing to negotiate. Is it an option to have a physical copy of the artwork? Again, I really don’t know how to do this, but hopefully a description of characters will help. Please ask any questions in the comments.
- Chad Healihands (our dm who also plays in the campaign) human cleric (male). Dropped out of sports medicine. He’s got a whole awkward thing with Gomo (one-sided) No one in the party likes him but he’s super sensitive and we need him to save our lives so we’re polite to his face and rude behind his back
- Gomo, rogue halfling (non-binary). The real champion of the party. Really likes to hide. Really doesn’t like Chad. Very stabby and thievy.
- Cümssa L’Oréal elf Druid (female) Absolute BABE. Shampoo commercial hair. Got a longbow and a cool sword that we found in the campaign.
- Mürrisch Tobe dwarf barbarian (male) His name literally means grumpy. He drinks constantly, gets awkwardly flirty with Cümssa when drunk. Had a pet hedgehog that died in a fire. Has a battleax.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. I'm a DM and I'm looking to get something that's cheap and cool/unique for my players for Christmas. The idea is that they can use this item during future sessions if they choose to. I've seen a lot of example online being minis (the problem is that one player constantly switches characters), dice (most people have multiple sets of their own dice), etc. but I was thinking something more along the lines of corked "potion bottles" filled with gatorade. Do you guys have any advice or other ideas? All help is appreciated

Jennifer is a 4’ tall gnome artificer with prosthetic legs from the knee down. She has a curvy and somewhat thicc build. She has bronze/tan skin and messy curly brown hair and warm brown eyes with bags under them.
Christmas Jen wears a cute dark green and red traditional-styled dress with white fluffy fur and a red flower christmas clip/band in her hair
Can have some extra makeup, accessories, or jewelry(artistic interpretation)
Virion
Virion is a 6’ 2” tall elven man. He has slender and graceful build. He has pale skin with beautiful dark blue/teal hair often tied in a messy bun and calming blue-green eyes.
Christmas Virion still wears his typical style of elegant and fancy clothes, but to celebrate the holiday he wears an ugly sweater with traditional patterns (probably reindeers, but elves or similar things fit as well and is up to artistic interpretation)

Final Thoughts
Hey yall! Hope you enjoyed this kinda holiday LFA! I wanted to celebrate Christmas by designing a character from a DnD game I play with her fiancée. Jennifer is my gnome artificer/wizard in the game and Virion is an NPC that got into a relationship with Jen.
