I decided to make an introduction post to Choi Je-Woo, since I haven't seen any posts about him on this sub.
Little starter: My favorite performance and song of his https://youtu.be/ccXgfpjttnM
His birth name is Choi Chang-Min, he was born on April 5th, 1981 in Seoul, Seongdong-gu Oksu-dong.
Life Before Becoming an Idol.
He lived in poverty as a child and would have to work odd jobs since elementary school. In 1997 he ended up becoming a backup dancer for Turbo and working as a Magazine Model up until the beginning of 1998 where he got casted by the president of his company.
October 1998: Debut as an Actor
He originally debuted as an actor on October 19th in the 1998 sitcom 'How Am I?' (λ μ΄λ?) Which starred the likes of Song Hye-Kyo and Cho Yeo-Jung. The sitcom was a hit and he was everywhere in Magazines and CFs, and even won the SBS Newcomer award in the sitcom category that same year. (Fun Fact: He was the one who started the Idol-Actor thing)

November 1998: Debut as an Idol
On November 1st, 1998 he made his singing debut with the Album 'Make Me A Hero', the album was a hit everywhere and he even competed with the likes of H.O.T, Sechskies and S.E.S, he was basically the only Solo idol to make it at the time, but he would sadly always place 2nd or 3rd in music shows. He mentioned that his staff and managers would always comfort him by telling him that it was impressive that he was the a one man team but still made it up there with these groups. (Fun story: He was really cold while filming the MV for 'Hero' so he asked his stylist to put a hoodie under his uniform. Basically, he was the reason wearing hoodies under uniforms became popular)

1999: SMART CF, End of 'How Am I?' and 2nd Album
In 1999, he took part in a SMART CF along with Song Hye-Kyo, that CF was legendary and was basically what cemented his place in the industry. On May 24th, after 136 episodes, his sitcom 'How Am I?' officially came to an end. On July 1st, 1999, he released his 2nd Album 'The Way', one of the songs on the album 'I Was Always Behind Her' (κ·Έλ μ λ€μ νμ λ΄κ° μμλ€) became a hit, he performed that song almost everywhere and on every Music Broadcast Station. (Fun fact: He Choreographed the dances for almost all of his songs.)
